(Clearwisdom.net) Soon after the announcement of the "Photo Exhibit of Falun Dafa Practitioners Validating the Fa" was made, the Photo Exhibit Preparatory Committee received photos submitted from numerous Falun Dafa practitioners and from righteous people who support Falun Gong. Fellow practitioners had taken some of these photos when they attended large-scale Dafa activities; some were taken at practice sites in their local areas; some were taken at home; still others were taken by our fellow Chinese citizens (non-practitioners) who risked their lives to submit photos about Dafa practitioners suffering persecution. We would like to express our sincere thanks to all of them.
Over 90% of the practitioners who submitted photos never had professional photography training; however, most of them have realized the unique and irreplaceable effect of the photographic medium for validating Dafa. Without any hesitation, without being overly concerned with technical challenges, they have captured and accumulated photos recording the history of Dafa's wide propagation and thus preserved invaluable historical material for Dafa.
Everyone knows the significance of photos. Their authenticity is an unmatchable feature that no other art form could provide. They can therefore serve as evidence, as reference, and can record the past for people to look back at history.
It has been over 10 years since Falun Dafa's first introduction to the public. In the mighty current of Fa-rectification, none of the forms with which Dafa disciples display themselves in human society are accidental. Propagating Dafa and validating Dafa through the medium of art is an important step Dafa disciples should take. For example, with the success of the International Art Exhibition, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance," also known as the "Uncompromising Courage" exhibition being shown in various places for a period of time, practitioners have gradually improved their understanding regarding the importance of the art exhibition. At present, practitioners are holding such exhibitions in many locations and their impact continues to grow.
Therefore, the Photo Exhibit Preparatory Committee for Photographs of Falun Dafa Practitioners Validating the Fa calls for more practitioners to actively participate in photo submissions for this photo exhibit. We hope you will submit Dafa-related photos in your possession to our committee, even though you may have just one such photo. We also hope you'll relay the message to others and encourage them to send their photos our way.
At the same time, the Photo Exhibit Preparatory Committee for Photographs of Falun Dafa Practitioners Validating the Fa sincerely invites all righteous people in Mainland China, particularly those policemen who know the inside story, to send us photos of Dafa disciples suffering persecution. These photos can be used to clarify the truth to people and offer salvation to living beings. Those who send such photos to us will be displaying their conscience and kindness in the face of all living beings and bringing a bright future for their own lives. In the near future, you will see the magnificence of such a great act. Photo Exhibit Preparatory Committee for Photographs of Falun Dafa Practitioners Validating the Fa
(Clearwisdom.net) Comprehensive report from a Minghui correspondent: The Chinese Communist evil spirit has chosen to go against Falun Dafa, and it is doomed to be thoroughly eliminated before the Fa-rectification reaches the human world. In order to avoid bringing disaster upon themselves when the Party's end arrives, it is imperative for people who once joined the CCP or other organizations affiliated with the Party, and were thus branded with the mark of the beast, to take advantage of this opportunity to declare their withdrawal from the Party or the Youth League.
In November 2004, the Epoch Times published the editorial series, "Nine Commentaries on the CCP," enabling the Chinese people who have been living under the CCP's lies and deceptions for a long period of time to clearly see the Communist Party's true nature. With the wide circulation of Jiuping or "Nine Commentaries" and people's gradual and deeper understanding of the Communist evil spirit, there has occurred an upsurge of resignation announcements. The resignations from the Party or the Youth League transferred through Minghui net have doubled recently. The announcements received on the morning of March 7, 2005 reached 2,000, including a group resignation from the Party or the Youth League with 199 signers. Another group declaration included 583 people. The announcements transferred through Minghui included Falun Dafa practitioners who have clearly recognized the evil nature of the Communist evil spirit, but it also included ordinary people who have gradually seen the CCP's brutal and evil nature through the atrocities it has committed in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners who truly cultivate themselves to be kind people. Especially after reading the "Nine Commentaries on the CCP," these people felt that they could no longer be associated with the Party, and therefore they submitted their resignations from the Party, Youth League and Youth Vanguard League.
It has been reported that the CCP recently continued to apply strong measures to block all communication networks in a bid to prevent the "Nine Commentaries" from getting into China. The domestic media have all remained silent about the "Nine Commentaries." In January 2005, the CCP launched a "Maintain Advancement" correction movement inside the Party. Great pressure has been applied to people to join the party, while Party members have been gathered together to study the Party's constitution and history, retake the "oath" and so on. But it seems that it is becoming more and more difficult to stem the tide of the wave of resignations. Upon hearing that the Party's consolidation movement was caused by the "Nine Commentaries," the public has been more anxious to read the original treatise. It has been hard to ban the "Nine Commentaries" both publicly and inside the Party, and it has circulated rapidly. Many people have asked travel agencies to have "Nine Commentaries" brought back with tourists, and they have asked overseas family members or friends to resign from the Party for them.
As of March 7, 2005, the number of resignations from the Party or the Youth League announced on the Epoch Times Tuidang website has exceeded 160,000, and it has rapidly increased at the rate of 10,000 daily. Most resignations from the Party or Youth League are from Mainland China, covering almost all of the provinces, cities and areas in China, and including people from all professions and all walks of life: civil servants, engineering technicians, government officials, scholars and literati, teachers, professors, workers, farmers, police officers, soldiers, and so on.

There are pamphlets about Falun Gong practitioners having been persecuted to death in plenty of prisons throughout Mainland China in recent years. There are also reports that more than one thousand people have been persecuted to death. Most of them have been identified by name, address and photos.
I am not a Falun Gong practitioner, but I believe that these practitioners do have basic human rights. The right to live is one of the most basic human rights. There is an old saying, "Human life should be treated with the utmost care." If indeed more than one thousand people have died in prison, and that too without being brought to trial first, then this issue should be seriously investigated.
In a few days, the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference will be held. I suggest that they discuss these allegations at the conference.
Some people have said that "persecuting Falun Gong practitioners to death" is a rumor. If it is indeed a rumor, the authorities should investigate it using the names and addresses reported in overseas media. If these allegations are verified, they should report it to the public. If it is a rumor, the rumormongers should be held responsible for their actions.
The Chinese Communist Party authorities treat Falun Gong practitioners who appeal for justice as "enemies." They say that practitioners "fabricate rumors." If the authorities can prove this with truthful evidence - that there are no "people being persecuted to death" - doesn't it show that the CCP is really "great, honorable, and correct?" If the judiciary doesn't investigate such a serious "rumor," isn't it negligent? If the Central Propaganda Department, which controls the CCP's media, does not report on it or refute the rumor, isn't it also negligent?
The Deputies to the National People's Congress and the committeemen of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference should not ignore such serious allegations and pretend to have been uninformed for such a long time.

(Clearwisdom.net) On Saturday March 5, 2005, practitioners of Falun Gong visited Hlohovec, a medium-sized city in western Slovakia, to let people know about the continuing persecution against the practice in China. Even though the weather was freezing, the sun came out and warmed everyone up as the practitioners spent the day handing out leaflets and chatting to local people. They told people about the benefits they have received from practicing Falun Gong, as well as the brutal persecution that is happening in China and has already taken the lives of over 1,400 people.

People greeted the practitioners with a warm and friendly welcome. An elderly lady came over from a nearby bakery and said, "I saw you sitting on the ground. You must be cold. Can I bring you some tea?" She soon came back with hot tea and warm pastries, for which she refused to take any payment. The practitioners thanked her profusely for her kindness.
Another man said, "If you had not come here today, I would never have known that something like this is happening in China. It is really horrific." Many people stopped to sign the petition and show their disdain and disapproval of the persecution.

Although his professional training is that of a machinist and gardener, many of his fans remember Michael Hackmayer as a rock musician. He is the former lead singer and keyboard player of the band "Wild Frontier" who played gigs during the eighties throughout the Kraichgau area.
But that is in the past, and now Hackmayer plays to a different audience. He has a different repertoire and a different agenda: he is fighting against human rights violations. He appeared with his friend, pianist and music teacher Jacek Wohlers in a recent concert at London's Queen Elizabeth Hall as part of a Gala event for Chinese New Year. The organizers of the event, a liberal TV station run by Chinese people residing abroad, are not the only ones to hold a despairing view of the human rights situation in the People's Republic of China. Hackmayer and Wohlers presented songs and ballads dealing with the fates of victims of persecution in China.
Hackmayer is employed by the Demeter's Nursery in Gondelsheim, a former member of the Hilsbach church choir and musically quite talented. His musical focus has shifted and his songs have a fresh content. He has become interested in the repertoire of romantic period composers Schubert and Schumann and is receiving voice training from an opera singer in Karlsruhe.
For the past three years, Hackmayer has used music to fight against torture and the persecution of religious, political and ethnic minorities at the hands of the politically powerful in the People's Republic of China. He has already cut two CDs. "Der friedliche Weg" ("A Peaceful Journey") appeared in 2002. It was followed in 2003 by "Freiheit für Xiong Wei" ("Freedom for Xiong Wei"), whom the International Society for Human Rights (IGFM) was trying to help escape imprisonment through petition campaigns.
Hackmayer considers songs the ideal medium to "explain to people what is happening in China." He has a personal relationship with China, although he only speaks a few words of Mandarin and has never been to the People's Republic. He met his girlfriend and future wife Zhou, an engineer from Hangzhou who used to work in Walldorf, when he started to learn a meditative Qigong practice in Mannheim. The exercises freed him from his constant back pain, which neither chiropractors nor conventional or homeopathic medicine had been able to relieve previously.
This particular meditative practice had been promoted with the support of the government in 1992 in China. However, everything changed in 1999, when this meditative practice, which is based on Buddhist principles and on the harmonious integration of mind and body and does not have a formal organization or structure, had attracted 100 million followers. To this date, they are being arrested, persecuted, tortured and taken to forced labor camps.
Hackmayer and his friends, fellow Falun Gong practitioners who meet for group practice in the Baden area, thought it was only natural to take steps to raise awareness about the human rights violations in China. He thought it would make sense for him to use his talents: ballads, songs and communally produced CDs.
The song collection "Freedom for Xiong Wei" drew the attention of the IGFM and they issued an invitation. This led to the IGFM gala event in November 2003 which was held at the "Rotes Rathaus" (Red City Hall) on Berlin's Alexander Square, which demanded improved human rights in China. Hackmayer and Wohlers appeared at additional gala events: January 2004 in Paris and March 2004 in Geneva, which also coincided with the UN Human Rights Day. The evangelical Christian is not a fanatic and he uses simple words to describe his activism: "I am taking a stand for human rights. If there is anything I can do, I am happy to do it." Currently, he is celebrating his next CD with some of his fellow musicians. It is scheduled to appear in the summer. In addition, he is looking forward to his wedding. The couple will be married in St. Anne's chapel in Steinberg.

(Clearwisdom.net) When we read Master's new article, "Turning the Wheel Towards the Human World" with other practitioners, we understood that there is one more mission for us to shoulder; that is, to help people renounce the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its various organizations and thereby erase the mark of the evil. There are quite a few people in China who carry this mark.
After sharing my understanding with other practitioners, we feel that it is a really urgent and critical issue for the following reasons:
It has been over 50 years since the CCP took over China in 1949. A lot of Chinese people born after 1940 joined the CCP, the Communist Youth League, or the Children's League. Only those who the CCP designated as belonging to one of the five categories of "bad" people were able to avoid joining the Party.
After the CCP came into power, they required Chinese people to join the Children's League as soon as they started going to school. Therefore, most primary school students swore to join the Children's League by the second semester of the first grade. By the time they were in junior high school or high school, 90% of the students had joined the Youth League. When they got to college, almost 100% of the students were League Members.
Hence, most Chinese people that attended school have been marked by the evil. It is estimated that at least one billion people are in this category, a huge group of people.
We suggest that practitioners, especially those in Mainland China, when doing the three things, think of ways to help those who have been marked (especially those who know the truth about Falun Dafa) to renounce the CCP, the Youth League, or the Children's League as soon as possible, so as to erase the mark of the evil. This is a really urgent issue.

(Clearwidom.net) Since January 1 of this year, the Chinese Communist Party has been denigrating Falun Dafa without restraint. At the same time, it launched its nationwide "Advanced Nature" propaganda campaign. Starting after the New Year festivals, all Communist Party members, the active party membership applicants, and common employees were organized, even before the normal holiday ended, to attend the "Study and Teaching on Maintaining the Advanced Nature of the Communist Party" meeting. All participants were asked to take notes of over 10,000 words and write reviews of a few thousand words. All this is to safeguard the Communist Party by spreading its evil nature and infusing the Party culture among the people.
As a Falun Dafa practitioner, one should have seen in this battle between good and evil, that the evil is trying to strengthen its energy field. Our validating Dafa is constantly changing with the advancement of Fa-rectification. However, some practitioners have not realized this point, which has led to various kinds of interference in our local area. For example, around the New Year there occurred drastic changes in some practitioners' families, including non-practitioner spouses threatening to divorce practitioners. Because the practitioners still had human notions, their loopholes were more easily exploited by the evil and they suffered a certain degree of loss.
Driven by human notions, some practitioners still hold their old understanding of the Fa and are unable to accept the current Fa-rectification progress. Some are even awaiting the coming of that glorious moment with the thought of leaving things to chance. Some ignore Master's lectures which have stated matters clearly. Some do not take sending forth righteous thoughts seriously, so they are unable to send forth righteous thoughts four times every day. Instead, they try to make all kinds of excuses for themselves. The environment is created by us. We each hold the responsibility for developing a cultivation environment that is harmonizing and complete. This being the case, let us think about ourselves and see if we have some problems.
All gods are watching how we validate Dafa on the surface of the three realms, and watching how we accomplish what a Dafa practitioner should do in the Fa-rectification period. To this end, all practitioners, let us take the Fa as our teacher. Make full use of the power coming from the whole group of Dafa practitioners, and do better in what we should do. Considering that the evil Communist Party is poisoning common people by using lectures and teachings, I believe that we should send forth righteous thoughts to break through their arrangement. Treasure the four times each day when we send forth righteous thoughts. At the same time, we should study the Fa well with a calm mind, especially the new lectures, because once we have Dafa in our minds, we have the means to prevail against the evil forces, and we are able to clarify the truth on every occasion.
I truly feel that as long as we take the Fa as our teacher, and as long as we do so in accordance with the requirements of Master, we are safe. On the other hand, if one does not believe in Master or in Dafa, one will not be safe in any environment.
(Clearwisdom.net) At the end of every year, the police usually launch a "Crack Down Hard" campaign on Falun Gong practitioners. People caught with "hard evidence" during this time are very likely to receive three to four years of forced labor or prison sentences. I was arrested and sent to a forced labor camp during this sensitive period. However, I am not an ordinary person. I am a Falun Dafa practitioner. What I do is the most righteous thing. Under Teacher's careful protection, I went on a hunger strike that lasted seven days and I was released unconditionally in the end. On that morning, when a camp official came with a paper showing "not guilty, unconditional release," all my cellmates were stunned. They could not believe what they saw. When my family members heard the news, they were all excited and cheerful. Dafa's mighty power was once again manifested in the human world.
Arrested While Clarifying the Truth
After reading Master's recent articles, I became clearer about practitioners' responsibilities. I knew I must waste no time and increase my effort in truth clarification. I decided to post some truth clarifying statements at public places.
During the day, I selected several sites. In the evening, I began to send forth righteous thoughts and asked Teacher for his protection. Then, I began to post the notices as planned in the different places. I finished it all after 11 p.m.
Right before I was about to return home, someone reported me to the police and I was arrested. I told myself repeatedly to keep the strongest righteous thoughts. I was reciting Teacher's words in "Teaching and Explaining the Fa at the Metropolitan New York Fa Conference:"
"'Now that you've arrested me, I haven't thought at all about going back. Now that I've come here, I've come to validate the Fa.' So the evil was scared."
On my way to the police station, I kept clarifying the truth to the police in the police car. I told them why I practiced Falun Gong, and why I wrote the truth clarifying statements. I also told them of the hoax of the Tiananmen Self-Immolation incident. I asked them to know that Falun Dafa is great. One policeman said, "Please stop talking, otherwise I will become a Falun Gong practitioner."
In the Police Station
Inside the interrogation room, the police started questioning me that same night. They tried to get my address, name and profession. They tried to trick me: "Tell us your name and address so that your family can take you back home." I said, "It doesn't matter whether I go home or not. My biggest wish is to let you know that Falun Dafa is good. You should realize the lies on TV and should not do anything to harm Falun Gong. You should not become Jiang Zemin's scapegoat. This way you can have a bright future. That is my biggest wish." I kept clarifying the truth to the police. After many tries, the police still couldn't succeed in getting my personal information. Frustrated, a policeman slapped my face and punched and kicked me. I knew the policeman was influenced by the dark minions and rotten demons in other dimensions. I would use righteous thoughts to burn the minions and demons into ash. I yelled out, "Falun Dafa is great!" "Falun Dafa is righteous!" "Stop persecuting Falun Gong!" "The world needs Truth, Compassion and Forbearance!" The more violent the policeman was, the louder my voice became. The policeman stared at me viciously. I raised my head to look straight into his eyes and sent forth strong righteous thoughts: Dissolve all the dark minions and rotten demons that are controlling him, encompassing everything and leaving out nothing in all dimensions.
Facing the savage dark minions and rotten demons, I recalled Teacher's words, "Dafa Disciples' Righteous Thoughts are Powerful." Soon, the dark minions and rotten demons were dissolved. The policeman stopped beating me. I felt really sorry for the policeman who beat me. He is also a human being who came for the Fa. His original home in the universe has countless beings. His crimes against Dafa would destroy his home universe; countless beings are facing elimination. With tears running down my face, I kept telling him the truth of Dafa. To save him, I have to let him suffer some pain so that he can appreciate the principle of "goodness will be rewarded; evil will be punished." I sent out a thought, "Let the hand that beat me have pain." After that, he put that hand in his pocket and never took it out again. He told his fellow police officers, "She can emit her gong!"
Now people were telling each other that they had just arrested someone who does not fear death. Many people came to see what kind of person I was. I recited Teacher's words in "Touring North America to Teach the Fa:" "You have come with the mission and responsibility of saving sentient beings." So I would not let slide a single chance for clarifying the truth and saving people.
The interrogation room became my place to clarify the truth. One policeman said, "You should practice at home and don't make trouble in public places." I said calmly, "The kindness of giving one drop of water should be rewarded with a full spring of water. Falun Gong is such a wonderful practice that gives me perfect health. My Teacher asks us to follow 'Truth, Compassion and Forbearance' and to become the best people possible. Now my Teacher has been slandered. Being a disciple, how can I pretend that nothing happened? Could that be something a good person should do? To safeguard Dafa, to defend my Teacher, I am willing to give up everything I have." A police officer asked, "Then why did your Teacher go to America?" I replied, "In 1997, our Teacher was approved by the government to travel abroad to teach Falun Gong. He had a Certificate of Qigong Master issued by the government. In 1999 when the government started persecuting Falun Gong, they claimed that our Teacher escaped. That is a lie to slander our Teacher. Falun Gong was not owned by China; Falun Gong belongs to the universe. Our Teacher's mission is to teach Falun Gong to the world and to give all human beings good health and outstanding moral quality. The government claimed that our Teacher rallied anti-China forces in the U.S. That is a big lie to frame our Teacher." With a calm and righteous mind, I answered all their questions.
A couple of policemen came in to beat me without any words. I refused to accept it passively. Instead, I sent forth righteous thoughts: Destroy the dark minions and rotten demons that control them. I also yelled out, "Falun Dafa is great!" "Falun Dafa is righteous!" "Restore honor to Falun Dafa and our Teacher!" The evil forces were frightened, and many of them were eliminated.
During the two-night and one-day interrogation, I refused to tell them my name and address. The third day, the police took me to several police branches and neighborhoods to see if someone might recognize me. Wherever I arrived, I would raise up my shackled hands and shout, "Fellow citizens, after I practiced Falun Gong, all my diseases disappeared. I no longer spend money on medicine. For that, they arrested me. Over 100,000 Falun Gong practitioners have been illegally detained in China. The 'Tiananmen Self-immolation' was a hoax to frame Falun Gong; I saw the video: Liu Chunling was murdered by the police, not burned to death." I also kept yelling out "Falun Dafa is good!" "Stop persecuting Falun Gong!" and "The world needs Truth, Compassion and Forbearance!"
On one occasion, the police tried to stop me and forced me to stand and face the wall. I refused, and continued to clarify the truth. Whenever we went to a police station or a neighborhood, I would clarify the truth to the police and the staff. After more than half a day, nobody recognized me. I was sent back to the police station. That afternoon, my family found me at the police station. The police learned about my status and sent me to a local labor camp.
In the Labor Camp
By repeatedly reminding myself, I let my righteous thoughts grow stronger and stronger. I kept telling myself:
" 'Now that you've arrested me, I haven't thought at all about going back. Now that I've come here, I've come to validate the Fa.'" ("Teaching and Explaining the Fa at the Metropolitan New York Fa Conference")
After I arrived at the labor camp, as a herald, I passed each cell, shouting "Falun Dafa is good!" "Falun Dafa is righteous!" "Restore honor to Dafa and our Teacher!" A policeman came to confront me, "Do you plan to shout again?" I calmly replied, "Yes!" He slapped me on the face twice. I shouted much louder.
Through Teacher's books and lectures, I learned that all the arrests and detentions are arranged by the old forces. Teacher did not agree to it. Dafa practitioners should deny the whole arrangement. Therefore, I didn't cooperate with the evil's demands. If I cooperated with the evil even a little bit, it would be an acknowledgement of the old forces' arrangement. The evil dark minions and rotten demons would intensify their persecution of Dafa and practitioners, causing permanent damage to the overall effort of saving sentient beings.
On the second day after I arrived in the labor camp, a labor camp staff person asked me to have my photo taken. I took the opportunity to clarify the truth to the photographer. I told him I didn't want my photo taken. He said, "I understand your point. History will be the judge, but I have to take your photo." Several policemen pushed me toward the camera. I refused to raise my head and kept my eyes closed. They took my photo with no cooperation from me.
The policeman in charge of prison uniforms asked me, "Why do you refuse to wear a uniform?" I clarified the truth to him, "I am innocent. I cannot agree to any arrangement here. I deny all the illegal treatment." He refused to listen to the truth and threatened, "I have never met anyone like you. Watch how I punish you." He called four male criminal inmates and said to me, "I will give you one more chance to wear the uniform: Yes or No?" "No!" I calmly replied. The police officer was furious, "Put the big chains on her." I gathered all my strength to struggle. They pinned me to the floor and beat me with punches and kicks. The policeman slapped my face very hard. I kept shouting, "Stop persecuting Falun Gong!" "Falun Dafa is great!" "Falun Dafa is righteous!" The police tried to stop me. He ordered other criminals to cover my mouth and nose with clothes. My mouth was muffled and I almost suffocated. The heavy chains locked my wrists and ankles (this is a torture device that combines handcuffs and feet shackles; it chains the hands and feet closely together, less than 20 inches apart). After putting the big chains on me, the criminal inmates pulled me up. I asked them, "Don't you have parents, brothers and sisters? If they got well after practicing Falun Gong, would you treat them like this?" I clarified the truth to them. A young man whispered to me, "Aunt, please bend down, otherwise the chain will hurt your wrist." I felt a sense of relief, because his conscience was awakening.
A staff member of the labor camp asked me to have a blood test. I clarified the truth to the doctor and refused to have the test. Several criminal inmates grabbed my arm and forcefully took my blood sample.
Every day, the camp police gave assignments to the camp inmates. I told myself that I would not do this "slave labor" job. Doing the job is an acknowledgement of the old force's arrangement. The criminals didn't appreciate my position at all, "Don't you always think of others? If you do more work and let us take a break, what's wrong with that?" I said, "You don't understand me now, but you will one day." The inmates gave me a hard time. I insisted on my principles and denied the old forces' arrangement. After that, when the cell leader reported the labor head count, my name was skipped.
Every day, I recited the Fa, practiced the exercises, clarified the truth and sent forth righteous thoughts, following Teacher's requirement for all disciples to do the three things. I took every opportunity to clarify the truth, and exposed the lies on TV to the fellow inmates. Most of them believed me.
Four days into my hunger strike, the labor camp officials tried to forcefully insert a tube into my esophagus through my nostrils for force-feeding. I did not cooperate. A doctor ordered some inmates to tie me up. Unable to move, I sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the dark minions and rotten demons that controlled those people. I begged Teacher to give me energy. Despite the great pain I was suffering, I kept clarifying the truth to these perpetrators.
During the hunger strike, I suffered from extreme thirst and hunger. But I kept on reciting Teacher's lectures. Sometimes, the pain was too hard for me to recite long scriptures. I would then repeat short sentences such as "Falun Dafa is Good," "Truth, Compassion and Forbearance," "One Righteous Mind Can Subdue One Hundred Evils," "In Fa-Rectification Your Thoughts Have to be Righteous, Not Human," "Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People," etc.
Teacher's words made it very clear:
"The Fa can break all attachments, the Fa can destroy all evil, the Fa can shatter all lies, and the Fa can strengthen righteous thoughts."("Drive Out Interference," from Essentials for Further Advancement II)
One day, after they force-fed me, I rested on the board, feeling weak. Just as I fell half asleep, a bottle of water appeared in my vision. I woke up and felt alarmed. This could not have been Teacher's message. Rather, it was the dark minions and rotten demons trying to destroy my spirit. One night, I had a dream in which I was eating a steamed bun while walking. This was also the work of the evil old forces. The dark minions and rotten demons were very scared of my hunger strike with no water, as that was a complete rejection of them. The hunger strike invalidated any excuse to damage Dafa and to persecute practitioners. On the sixth day, I began to feel extremely thirsty. My body and mind felt terrible. I was reaching my own limitation of endurance. I said to Teacher with tears, "Teacher, your disciple is so thirsty, she can hardly hold on." Shortly after, I felt warm all over my body and extremely comfortable; fresh and cold saliva was gently secreted and moistened my heart; the thirst was gone. I knew that it was Teacher who shouldered the burden for me. I could not survive this tribulation without Teacher's protection. I can never return Teacher's kindness for what he has done for me. As I write this sentence, my eyes are filled with tears.
On the second day after I was arrested, fellow practitioners heard the news. Some of them sent forth righteous thoughts for me. Some collected the phone numbers of the police station and organized information about the persecution against me. Some collected related departments' and personnel's phone numbers and sent them to Clearwisdom.net. Overseas practitioners called in one after another to demand my immediate release. Dafa practitioners formed a righteous field as one body. My relatives were busy working to rescue me every day. They went to the police department, the labor camp and key officials, asking them to release me. My husband was so exhausted that he vomited blood. My sister even passed out from exhaustion. My family and relatives spent those seven days and nights with worry and tears.
Finally, I was free. Teacher and Dafa have given me everything I have. In the future, I will follow Teacher's request to do the three things well: study the Fa, send forth righteous thoughts and clarify the truth. Teacher wrote,
"Righteous thought, righteous action
Strive upward wholeheartedly, do not stop
Purge the ghosts that disrupt Fa
Treat all beings with kindness"

I will travel on the remaining Fa-rectification path. I hereby express my deepest gratitude to fellow practitioners in China and abroad who helped me to walk out of the labor camp.
(Clearwisdom.net) Recently several key Falun Dafa practitioners in our area have been persecuted for their leading role in clarifying the truth. Some Falun Dafa students are perplexed about this. Why is it that those who are influential and have practiced well often face much more interference persecution?
After studying Teacher's most recent Fa lecture in New York in 2004, we have enlightened to a new understanding of things. First of all, we cannot acknowledge this kind of persecution. Secondly, we need to realize that a problem still exists among us. That is, some fellow practitioners treat those among us who have done the work well, with our human attachments. In our area, stories about those who were diligent were widely spread among practitioners. Some even set up appointments to meet with an outstanding practitioner regularly to be instructed by him. After one practitioner was arrested, officials from the 610 Office frankly told him that he was so influential among practitioners that the authorities were determined to stop him.
It grieves us when we hear about these incidents. Because of our failure to maintain a righteous mind, we succumbed to the human mentalities of envy and admiration. Instead of basing our thoughts and actions on the Fa, we based our behavior on exceptional practitioners. In the end, we gave the evil excuses to cause great damage.
I hope all practitioners in our area will think about this issue. Let's not treat practitioners who have done well from the perspective of our human attachments. The difference in our capabilities is established by the Fa. We don't need to set them up as role models or become obsessed with learning from them. Our different roles in society are to meet the needs of, and save sentient beings. To meet these requirements, it is understood that some practitioners will be more capable than others, but we are all particles in the Fa.
(Clearwisdom.net) I was laid off from my previous job and presently work in the dining hall of a private school. I am a practitioner who started practicing Falun Dafa after July 20, 1999, when the persecution was already taking place. As practitioners across the country have stepped forth to clarify the truth, help save the world's people and validate the Fa, I have gradually realized that our Master of great compassion has arranged for me to be here to save people and validate the Fa. I have become aware of the huge responsibility and the need to live up to Master's expectation.
In order to help save more sentient beings, I set the high standards of a Falun Dafa practitioner for myself in my daily work, taking on difficult tasks while leaving the convenient tasks to others. In everything I do and everything I say, I judge it by the Fa, always placing the Fa in the first place. My actions have gained praise among teachers and other employees. Based on this positive feedback, I have taken each opportunity to bring up the topic of how my mind and body greatly benefited after practicing Falun Gong, and how Falun Dafa is widely spread in over sixty countries. The school principal, who became aware of the truth, could not help shouting in the dining hall, "Falun Dafa is great! Falun Dafa is the righteous law!" The principal has learned about the Fa and also upheld the Fa in the school. The students excelled in the enrollment exams and ranked at the top two years in a row. At the same time, the school has also grown significantly in size.
Some people, poisoned by Jiang's rogue regime, caused interference every now and then. I have relied on the Fa's mighty power and sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate this interference. On one occasion, a colleague said to me, "Last night I found Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials at my doorstep, the contents are pretty good." I said, "Really? Wouldn't it be great if you brought it to the school for us to take a look?" She agreed. The next day, she brought the materials to the school, and many colleagues were anxious to read them. One student could not understand the materials and was a little put off. She asked me right away, "Is it true as documented in these materials? Why is it different from what's on TV?" I took the opportunity to tell the students the facts, about how Falun Gong cures illness and keeps one fit, how it teaches people to be kind-hearted, how it has spread around the world, and how the official account of the Tiananmen Self-immolation incident was full of inconsistencies. At that moment, the team leader of the dining services got mad at me as I kept telling the students the truth. He yelled, "Don't spread these things to the kids. If they go home and tell their parents, won't the parents show up at our school demanding an answer from the school officials? If all the parents are here, would you dare to say the same thing in front of them?" Hearing his words, I knew immediately that this was the behind-the-scenes factors in other dimensions interfering with my truth clarification. I was not intimated. All I had was the strong thought that I'm a Falun Dafa practitioner. I'm doing the most sacred, righteous thing. No evil is permitted and no evil deserves to interfere. Nor will it succeed. I have to help save these kids. So I replied loudly to the team leader, "Sure I do. No matter how many people arrive, I will dare to face them and tell them the truth. The more people the better!" He was startled by my courage and turned away, ashamed and silent.
Through these truth-clarifying efforts, I have realized that as long as I keep up righteous thoughts and righteous actions, break out and step out of my personal notions, it's indeed true that "after passing the shady willow trees, there will be bright flowers and another village ahead!" (Zhuan Falun, Chapter 9).
Due to my limited level, I welcome kind suggestions, and corrections are most welcome from fellow practitioners.
(Clearwisdom.net) The following is a miraculous experience I had while clarifying the truth about Falun Gong.
One evening in the autumn of 2003, I took some truth-clarifying materials and went out to distribute them. At that time, the environment was still filled with evil. When I walked to the entrance of an apartment building, I suddenly realized that there was someone following me. I steadied myself and thought in my heart, "I am here to offer salvation to sentient beings, I am not afraid of you." Then I walked into the building. When I finished distributing the truth-clarifying materials and as I started to leave the building, I saw that the person was still keeping watch at the entrance. I thus walked on ahead until the end of the corridor, where there was a turn. I looked to left and saw that there was a big door, which was about 5 to 6 meters tall and it was wide open. Thus, I successfully walked out the door and returned home.
When I reached home, I recalled what had happened and felt very strange. As I am very familiar with the surroundings in that area, I know that the door on the left side of the building is a small round door shaped like a moon. During the outbreak of SARS, it was permanently locked. Thus that residential complex only had one entrance, the door that I had entered.
The next day, I went to take a look. The small moon-like door was still tightly shut with chains and locks. There was a thick layer of rust on the lock. When I brought up this matter with my fellow Falun Gong practitioners, they all said, "It was Master protecting you. An escape route was opened for you in another dimension."
During these few turbulent years, during the last moments when the evil is being eliminated, as Falun Gong practitioners, we should be steadfast in the Fa and bravely embrace our Fa-rectification role, be respectful to Master and have strong belief in the Fa. Master will definitely take care of each and every Falun Gong practitioner so that we will successfully overcome the difficult obstacles.
(Clearwisdom.net) I have read some articles on Clearwisdom.net about Falun Dafa practitioners achieving good results clarifying the facts via their local media. Certainly, practitioners in many areas outside of China have adopted this method, but I wanted to promote it further.
Teacher has emphasized the importance of the media. The Chinese Communist Party has created a big negative impact via its propaganda machine, and many people have become prejudiced against Dafa. We should turn the tables and use the media to stop the spread of CCP poisons.
Teacher said,
"It's because of the evil's slanderous propaganda that people have bad thoughts in their minds. When people become clearheaded, that's when those evil things are eliminated and disintegrate" ("Touring North America to Teach the Fa").
Since the effect of media is significant, we may need to have our own media. However, we should also use the existing, public media to clarify the facts. The advantages include the following:
1. Using the existing media can save a great deal of labor and resources. Because our own media are non-profit organizations, our funding and other resources are very limited.
2. The existing media already have a sizable audience. The purpose of our own media is to clarify the facts of Falun Dafa. However, publicizing Dafa practitioners' media requires much effort.
3. People tend to be more trusting toward existing media. People who have been influenced by the CCP's culture think that Falun Dafa's websites and media are biased. When ordinary people's media publish positive reports on Falun Dafa it will have a good result.
4. Many practitioners have stepped forward to clarify the facts, however, it would be better if we progressed even faster. Maybe each area should have a few practitioners promoting Falun Dafa through local media, so that the facts can rapidly reach many people.
5. The local media can also introduce Falun Dafa to non-Chinese people. Oftentimes we only focus on promoting Falun Dafa to Chinese, because there are a lot of Chinese practitioners. However, the Chinese comprise only a small portion of the population in most areas. We need to promote Falun Dafa locally to amplify the result. In the persecution the CCP has spent hefty sums of money to buy-out overseas (including Taiwanese) Chinese and Chinese-language media, because the CCP, too, has set its eyes on spreading news via local media.
6. Local media are an efficient channel to clarify the facts to people in areas where few practitioners reside.
7. Contacting existing media is truth clarification in its own right. Regardless of the outcome, every contact with media is an opportunity to clarify the facts.
8. We need to contact reliable and trustworthy media, for it is easier for people to be open to our message.
Now, I would like to suggest a few ways to implement the plan.
1. We can start out with small media outlets, perhaps health newspapers and newspapers for seniors. Small media also have a sizable audience. It is best if we can help all local media publish positive reports on Falun Dafa.
2. We should try to publish Dafa articles frequently to provide people an in-depth coverage of the persecution and the practice.
3. We should report from a variety of perspectives. Each person has different interests and is concerned with different issues. If our topic happens to concern a reader, it will be more attractive. Dafa encompasses everything and is related to different aspects of daily life.
4. We should provide our contact information so that interested people can procure more information on Falun Dafa or even start practicing.
Of course, there will be difficulties. However, Teacher once said:
"Also, you should realize the effect media has on the general public. It is extremely important in terms of people learning the truth about Dafa, saving the world's people, and exposing the evil; and, its influence is enormous." ( "To the Clear Harmony Website of Europe," in Essentials for Further Advancement II)
Teacher has already pointed out the media's effect. We should pursue it now. Many local media may be waiting for our positive reports. Teacher has also said:
"When the persecution against us first started, all the world's media wanted to know what Falun Gong was about. But nobody was able to get positive materials, and they all copied what the lie-breeding media in China published. Of course, a lot of international media didn't do that intentionally--they had to report on it." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston")
Using existing media to clarify the facts is a very good approach.
(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners have been suffering persecution for five and a half years. Although there are very few reports about it on TV, the persecution is actually still underway, and practitioners die nearly every day. On December 26, 2004, the Chinese news reported that the anti-torture exhibits held by Falun Gong practitioners outside of China are a distortion of reality. Obviously, exhibits that exposed the torture and maltreatment of practitioners enraged the people in power, so they arrested more Falun Dafa practitioners in our area. Is the torture exposed by these exhibits a display of the truth or is it a distortion of reality as the Chinese news alleged?
Under a dictatorship, dissenting voices are not allowed to be heard. Who is able to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the CCP's media reports? People have even described Chinese news agencies as the Party's dog. Lyrics from a folk song say: "It is a dog raised by the Party, guarding the Party's gate. It will bite anyone the Party wants it to bite, and bite however many times the Party wants it to." The song accurately depicts the true situation. The Jiang regime incited hatred towards people believing in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." It used modern media to spread fabrications and propaganda among the populace who, being unclear about the true situation, believed what they heard. The propaganda caused hundreds of millions of people to hate Falun Gong (as it was portrayed in the Chinese media).
Since 1999, the 610 Offices at different levels across China have been receiving orders from Jiang's regime and following an inhuman policy of genocide with regard to Falun Gong. The Jiang regime issued many directives including: "beating them (practitioners) to death is counted as suicide," and "destroy their reputations, cut them off financially, and eradicate them physically." It even issued orders to kill practitioners who used TV programs to broadcast truth clarification programs about Falun Gong. Up to now more than 1200 practitioners' deaths due to torture have been confirmed. Tens of millions of practitioners have been detained. Could a false report by the Chinese media make these fact untrue?
Actually, the anti-torture exhibits only show the tip of the iceberg. Many torture methods simply cannot be portrayed since they are too brutal and horrifying, even going beyond the ability of human beings to imagine.
At 7:00 a.m. on a day in June 2003, in the conference room of the Fifth Brigade of Harbin City's Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp for men, director Zhao Shuang said in a meeting attended by more than 60 people (including 41 Falun Dafa practitioners): "Since the CCP trusts me, I was sent to the Fifth Brigade to deal with Falun Gong. Once you are here, you will lose any personal freedom. According to a stipulation from higher authorities, I will be fined 200 yuan if one practitioner dies. I would not like you to die easily. I'd like to make your life a living hell instead. If you are not well behaved, I will pinch your genitalia. Some were pinched until they cried out. The CCP awarded me a bonus and beer to drink every day (he was always seen drinking beer during working hours). Therefore I must be worthy of the CCP's trust. You said on the Internet that I am a rogue director. That is correct. I am a rogue. I am not a thief. My main trait is lechery. To dally with women I am.... (His sexual innuendo has been removed)." It is clear that "guards" who are very cruel and of low morals have been pushed to the frontlines in persecuting Falun Gong, and the effect of their cruelty during the persecution is self-evident. Zhao Shuang often employed different kinds of torture including shocking by electric baton, hanging up by handcuffs, and punching in the mouth. He rebuked inmates who could not bear to hit others: "You must employ the power I gave you well."
In the Heilongjiang Provincial Police Department located on Zhongshan Road in Harbin City, during the summer of 2000, Falun Dafa practitioners were hung up by handcuffs with their hands behind their back so their feet could not touch the ground and their heads were covered with a soaked plastic bag. When they were about to pass out, the bag was removed and they were interrogated. If the police were unsatisfied with their answer, the bag would be placed back over their head, repeating this process until their answers were satisfying. After this was done to a young female practitioner wearing a skirt, three male police officers pinched her high up on her thigh using pliers and hit her chest and breast.
The guards in the Taiping Detention Center in Harbin City incited inmates to strip off Falun Dafa practitioners' clothes in the winter and douse them with cold water. They named this torture "taking a bath." The guards and military police took practitioners outside, stripped off their clothes and made them squat and hold their heads with their arms. They named this torture "searching for contraband goods."
The hospital in the Harbin City Wanjia Women's Forced Labor Camp was specially founded for inmates in custody. It is just like a concentration camp and practitioners have suffered all sorts of persecution there. The guards granted full administrative authority to selected inmates, while they secretly took in the money the inmates extorted. The inmates forced hospitalized practitioners to stay in the bottom bunk bed in a group of five people. They were stacked there the whole day, being unable to stand or squat. Some of them were stacked this way for two or three months. Under this kind of beating, scolding and torment, some practitioners died a tragic death. Moreover, the hospital stuck needles into the bodies of patients who died from not receiving treatment in a timely manner in order to evade their families' investigation.
It is a common practice for the guards to extort money from practitioners. The van driver of the Taiping Detention Center, who transports practitioners to Wanjia Forced Labor Camp, extorted money from practitioners' family members in public. If he could not extort enough money, he would cooperate with the labor camp and aggravate the persecution of those practitioners. The excuses used for obtaining the money included: bridge fee, road fee, having to pay an acquaintance to look after them, and so on.
In the Fourth Brigade of Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp, there is a political instructor named Sun who beat practitioners especially ruthlessly. He did not install glass panels in the workshop's windows during the winter. Practitioners were forced to work 14 hours per day in this icy workshop and many practitioners were frozen and physically devastated to the point that they could not take care of themselves. Even so, they were forced to carry frozen trash. When they spoke up about the cold conditions, they were forced to buy the glass panels for the workshop's windows with their own personal money.
The above-enumerated descriptions are but a tiny fraction of the barbaric persecution innumerable Falun Gong practitioners have suffered since 1999. Given this information, who is really lying and presenting a distortion of reality?

Quietly and without fanfare, CCTV and 11 other Chinese television channels have started broadcasting inside the United States. The so-called "Great Wall Package" is part of a concerted effort by the Chinese to communicate their views of China to the rest of the world.
It is good that China is now eager to tell its story; it is a sign of self-confidence. The country is becoming an international power, it is a member of the World Trade Organisation and is hosting the Olympics in 2008. Soaring energy needs will soon make China a rival to America's influence on oil prices.
Unfortunately, the China of today still does not believe in level playing fields. It too often wants for itself what it is unwilling to allow for others.
On the one hand, China buys Boeing jets while, on the other, it censors all information relating to politics and international relations. Take the way that it has handled the news of the death of former premier Zhao Ziyang .
In his heyday, Zhao was praised by US president Ronald Reagan for initiating reforms, yet even Zhao's own private secretary was not allowed to pay his last respects to his former mentor by attending the funeral service. The man's wife suffered a broken rib when the two of them were prevented from leaving their home during the visitation period at Zhao's home.
What kind of a country expects to host the Olympics but beats up the wife of a former top-level official for mourning a fallen colleague?
It is a country that is afraid of its own people. It is a country that will do anything to keep its own people from learning the facts about political developments. China has managed to revolutionise its economy but it is still in the Stone Age politically. The contrast could not be starker than in the way the Chinese restrict the movement of foreign journalists in the country. The regulations prohibit them from travelling outside Beijing unless they have permission from local authorities.
To get permission, a journalist has to produce a list of names of the people to be interviewed, along with an outline of the interview and the questions to be asked. Getting permission takes time, and applications are often denied.
The Chinese allow casual travel to "open" areas, but their regulations forbid unscheduled interviews. And any travel to "closed" areas - like Tibet or wherever there is a demonstration taking place - must be authorised in advance by the local security bureau.
Contrast these regulations with the way that the US State Department advises journalists from China about how and where they can travel.
The Chinese are free to move about the country, interview anyone they want at any time - just like every other domestic and foreign journalist.
That is the way a civilised country works. And that is the way China will be expected to work when it hosts the Olympic Games, when a legion of 10,000 or more foreign journalists descends on Beijing.

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Wang Zhehao, 27, was a computer-aided designer at the Dalian Chemical Research & Design Institute in Dalian City, Liaoning Province. Wang had been repeatedly arrested and illegally detained for extended periods ever since the persecution against Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999. Both his body and mind were seriously damaged. Mr. Wang died as a result of persecution on December 25, 2004.

Wang Zhehao began to cultivate Falun Dafa in 1995 and followed the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance." He worked diligently and was praised by leaders and colleagues at his work place. While Jiang Zemin's corrupt regime persecuted Falun Gong over the past five years, Mr. Wang was illegally arrested six times.
Mr. Wang went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. The police sent him back to Dalian and illegally detained him in the Yaojia Detention Center for ten days. In August 1999, the police arrested him again and detained him for nearly 20 days during Jiang's visit to Dalian to inspect the state of persecution against Falun Gong.
With local officials continually harassing him, Mr. Wang was forced to quit his job and move. In early October 1999, the police from Dalian May First Square went to his home to harass him. They claimed that they didn't find the person they wanted to arrest, so they arrested Mr. Wang and his mother and detained them for 15 days; then they sent Mr. Wang to a rehabilitation center to further persecute him. After one month, they sent him to Dalian Labor Reeducation Camp for a one-year term of forced labor. Mr. Wang's family managed to get him out of the labor camp through some social connections. The police demanded 10,000 yuan as a deposit but never returned the money.

On April 24, 2001, several policemen, including Chen Xin from the first session of Dalian Police Department, suddenly broke into Mr. Wang's residence. They handcuffed him without any explanation and searched his home. Mr. Wang asked to see a search warrant. In response, the police slapped his face several times and claimed that was the search warrant.
Mr. Wang was sentenced to three years imprisonment in a forced labor camp. He was first imprisoned in Dalian Labor Reeducation Camp, then in Guanshan Labor Reeducation Camp, then in Benxi Labor Reeducation Camp, and lastly in Huludao Labor Reeducation Camp. He was subjected to brainwashing and physical abuse in the camps. His health was ruined. In Dalian Labor Reeducation Camp, he was put under close surveillance and tortured. The guards cuffed his hands and feet to a bed. At Benxi Labor Reeducation Camp, the guards beat him until his body was covered in blood. They locked him in a small solitary cell many times, restricted him from using the bathroom, and didn't give him any water to drink. Mr. Wang said, "Life in Guanshan Labor Reeducation Camp was very hard. First it was Mr. Zhu Xiaofei from Lushun City, (Liaoning Province). He didn't cooperate with the guards and refused to do the prison labor. The guards shocked him for a very long time with electric batons. Then it was Mr. Jiang Yunsong. He was locked in a small solitary cell. Several prisoners kicked him and beat him. When he came back, his face and his mouth were covered with bloody blisters from electric baton shocks. His hair was full of dirt. His leg was lame from being kicked."
In May 2003, Mr. Wang Zhehao went on a hunger strike to protest the unreasonable persecution in Huludao Labor Reeducation Camp. Guards Liu Guohua, Song Yuanbin, Qi Zhiping, Fan Yongjie, Wang Yongming, Wang Dazhu used six electric batons to shock his back and both sides of his chest until they were full of blisters. The guards didn't stop until they found that Mr. Wang's body temperature had increased to 38ºC (or 100.4ºF). Then they cuffed his hands to a bed, inserted a stomach tube and force-fed him with a lot of drugs and beer. On the third morning, Mr. Wang went into shock. After emergency treatment, the guards continued to force feed him through a tube inserted into his stomach. They took turns watching to make sure he didn't fall asleep.
On October 19, 2003, Mr. Wang wrote an article upholding the reputation of Falun Dafa in his required "Reflections Report." Guard Liu Guohua was displeased, and locked Wang Zhehao in a small solitary cell to torture him. Mr. Wang went on a hunger strike again. He was too weak to urinate. After more than 20 hours of suffering, he was sent to a hospital where a doctor tried for over an hour to insert a urinary catheter. In the 38 days following that, Mr. Wang suffered greatly in the hospital with a stomach tube and urinary catheter left in his body. When his family was notified, Mr. Wang was found to have a urinary tract infection, and symptoms of arrhythmia and tachycardia. He was in critical condition. The guards demanded 5,000 yuan deposit from his family before they agreed to release him.
After Mr. Wang returned home, he attempted to go back to work, but was still unable to urinate normally. In early December 2004, he suffered dropsy. His stomach was bloated, and he spit out dark red fluids. He was sometimes clear and sometimes in a daze, while his blood pressure, pulse, breathing, and some other indices seemed normal. The doctor could not determine the cause of the abdominal distention and no diagnosis could be made. Mr. Wang passed away on December 25, 2004.
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Yang Xuezhu was a 78 year old resident of Hefei City, Anhui Province. In July 1999, she began to practice Falun Dafa. After the persecution began in July of 1999, her grandson, who is also a practitioner, was arrested many times for validating Dafa. The elderly lady was deeply saddened because she missed her grandson so much. She was unable to overcome her grief and therefore became mentally disturbed. During wintertime, she walked barefoot on the concrete floor outside her home and wore only warm weather clothing. Soon her old illnesses returned.
On February 1, 2000, Ms. Yang's grandson was arrested again. The incident severely upset her and she died soon after.
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhang Meilian, about 50 years old, was a retired teacher from Jiangxi Province Water and Electricity Engineering Staff College. She went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong after July 20, 1999, but was arrested and taken back to the local police station. She suffered a mental collapse due to the persecution and later died.
Ms. Zhou Shuqing, 66 years old, was a retired worker from Changchunling Town, Songyuan City, Jilin Province. She had several illnesses before she practiced Falun Gong. After beginning the practice, all her illnesses vanished and she enjoyed both physical and mental health.
Since July 20, 1999, the local police often searched her home, threatened, extorted money from her and harassed her, which made her unable to practice the exercises as usual. Her health deteriorated, returning to her past state. Even at that, the police still kept harassing her and extorting money from her. They claimed that they no longer had funding to arrest Dafa practitioners and forced her to give them money; otherwise they would detain her. Faced with such increased severe threats and tension, she could no longer endure it. Her illnesses recurred and she died on February 6, 2005.
Ms. Zhou Qichun, 75 years old, was a retired accountant from the Tanji Factory in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. She obtained Dafa in 1996. After that, the high blood pressure and heart disease she had suffered from for many years disappeared very quickly. After July 20th, 1999, personnel from the local street administration office, the police station and neighborhood committee went to her home and forcibly took away her Dafa books and threatened her not to practice Falun Gong any more. This led to the rapid deterioration of her health and her past illnesses recurred. Later, during a time when she was having her illness treated in Hebei Province Chemistry Geology Research Institute, the authorities went to her home many times to harass and threaten her. She died on July 15, 2000 in great stress.
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Wang Dongxia was a 41-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province. She had been detained three times after July 20, 1999, and twice sentenced to forced labor because she firmly cultivated Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance. Ms. Wang Dongxia was tortured in Jiamusi Labor Camp until she was severely ill and could not walk. She died on February 15, 2005.
On December 13, 2002, Jiamusi City 610 Office agent Chen Wanyou and police from Qianjin Station, and Nan'gang Substation stormed into Ms. Wang Dongxia's home. They abducted her, and took eight hundred yuan in cash and a cell phone from her husband's pocket. Police beat her up in the Qianjin Station, forced her to stand on the cement floor in bare feet, deprived her of sleep and made her sit with her hands cuffed behind her all night. After this they sent her to the detention center.
On January 6, 2003, police from Qianjin Station sent Ms. Wang Dongxia and several other Falun Dafa practitioners to Jiamusi Labor Camp. Upon arriving there, all Falun Dafa practitioners were cuffed to their beds and forced to go through brainwashing sessions. Those involved were Deputy Ward Leader Zhang Xiaodan (female), uniformed guards Liu Yadong (female) and Li Yongbo (female).
Ms. Wang Dongjia endured numerous tortures inside the labor camp, such as being forced to sit on a cable spindle(1) for a long time. This torture made her very weak. She was sick with tuberculosis and so thin it was as if there were only skin and bone left. The labor camp was afraid of being responsible for her death so they had her family pick her up in September 2004. When her family went to pick her up, she could not walk. They had to carry her back home.
Ms. Wang Dongxia never recovered after returning home. She often had a fever, and was finally sent to a hospital at a cost one thousand yuan per day. She died on February 15, 2005.

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Xiao Yali used to live in Dongfa Village, Zhoujia Town, Shuangcheng City of Heilongjiang Province, China. On March 6, 2004, she died as a result of a violent forced-feeding while she was being detained at the Shuangcheng City No. 2 Detention Center. After being forcefully arrested, Ms. Xiao had to leave her twin children, a boy and a girl, behind. The boy is called Sun Ri and the girl is called Sun Yue. The young children cry for their mother every day. Currently, these two children are living with their grandparents. Ms. Xiao's husband, Sun Wancai, is in poor health and is suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis. He already owes a debt of more than 10,000 yuan due to his medical treatments
Around 4 p.m. on February 28, 2004, government official Li Yuesheng from Zhoujia Town and police officer Guo Fujun from the local public security station, together with some other people, broke into Ms. Xiao's house and ransacked it. Between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., Zhoujia Town Judiciary Committee Secretary Gao Jinpeng, local public security station deputy director Bai, and town officials Li Yuesheng and Hu Zongshen and some other people broke into Ms. Xiao's house again, but this time they abducted Ms. Xiao from her home. Ms. Xiao was then sent to the public security station and later transferred to the Shuangcheng City No. 2 Detention Center. Around 6:40 p.m. on March 6, 2004, Ms. Xiao's family received a phone call from the detention center, asking the family to bring some money to the city emergency center where Ms. Xiao was being treated for an illness (Ms. Xiao had been very healthy; she didn't have any ailments at all before her detention)
Ten minutes later, the family received another call from the detention center, saying that the family could either go visit the emergency center that day or the next day (actually at that time, Ms. Xiao had already been tortured to death.) Over twenty family members and relatives visited the emergency center that same night; however, a certain officer refused to allow the family members see Ms. Xiao. The next day, the family and relatives learned that Ms. Xiao was already dead and they saw her body. There was an oval shaped scar on Ms. Xiao's forehead, the right side of Ms. Xiao's chest was swollen, both her hands were twisted and had turned purple, and her mouth was swollen as well. It was such a horrible and upsetting sight! When some public security staff requested that Ms. Xiao be cremated immediately (without receiving a memorial service), all the family members and relatives immediately protested strongly against such inhuman treatment. On March 13, 2004, Ms. Xiao was cremated against the family's will. Later on, it was learned from an inside source at the detention center that the primary culprit who was directly involved in Ms. Xiao's death was a physician called Wang Shiyuan from the No. 3 Clinical Center of Shuangcheng City People's Hospital.
After Ms. Xiao was tortured to death, the whole family was devastated. Not only did Ms. Xiao's family feel great sorrow, but her neighbors also mourned for her. They wept for having lost such a good person.
(Clearwisdom.net) The Shandong Province No. 1 Women's Forced Labor Camp, also known among the locals as the Jiangshuiquan Forced Labor Camp, is located at 20 Jiangshuiquan Road, Lixia District of Jinan City, Shandong Province. The conditions are extremely harsh there. One cannot see anything when entering the building without turning on the lights. In the summer it is stuffy and swamped with mosquitoes. In the winter, ice-cold air blows through the hallway, piercing into one's bones.
Since July 1999, female Falun Gong practitioners have been held at this facility. It has turned into a concentration camp serving Jiang's regime in its suppression of Falun Gong. In the beginning of October 2000, a large number of practitioners who went to Beijing to peacefully appeal were taken to this labor camp. The total number detained there was more than 800. A fifth division was established in addition to the original four divisions, headed by the most brutal officers in the labor camp. For the past five years, labor camp officials, led by Jiang Lihang, the labor camp director, directly instigated prostitutes, drug addicts, inmates of theft and robbery offenses, and collaborators to engage in physical and mental abuses against practitioners. Officials who actively engaged in persecution include Wang Shuzhen, Sun Yuhua, Zhao Jie (the three of them all served as the heads of Division No. 1), Xu Ruiju, head of Division No. 2, Yang Anrong, head of Division No. 4, and Niu Xuelian, head of Division No. 5.

"Five Horses Splitting the Body"
Officers at the No. 1 Women's Labor Camp and inmates ordered by these officers forcibly stretch a practitioner's arms and tie them to the top bunk bed. Then the practitioner's legs would be split apart and her feet tied to the legs of the bed (over 6 feet apart). A sheet was tied around the practitioner's waist, pulled to and fixed at another bed across the room. This was similar to an ancient form of execution vividly named "five horses splitting the corpse." Sometimes the officers would order someone to sit on the lower bunk and push the practitioner's lower back forward with their feet. Some practitioners were tied up and stretched out in this position for over a dozen hours.

Burning the Back with Mosquito Incense
Criminals would forcibly strip off a practitioner's clothes and press burning mosquito incense into the practitioner's back. When smoke came up, the perpetrator would move on to a new spot. Some practitioners had several dozen burn wounds. After three years, their scars are still there.

Vicious Beatings
Officials at the labor camp would use reduction of labor camp terms as bait to drive inmates to monitor and torture Falun Gong students. These inmates had themselves been tortured and endured coercive interrogations, and were particularly keen in vicious beatings. They would slap the practitioner, kick her lower abdomen, strike her breasts, strike her head with their elbows, or step on the practitioners' bare feet while wearing heavy shoes to crush their toes. Sometimes eight or nine inmates took turns beating a practitioner throughout the night. Some whipped them with a bamboo strip, some struck them with shoes, and some pinched them with their fingernails or struck with their palm and fists. The heavier the beating, the more days would be reduced from the inmates' original forced labor terms.

"Riding an Airplane"
The practitioner would be forced to squat on a few pieces of string on a folding stool with her arms stretched out. If she started to fall through the string, the inmates would strike her wrist bones with the frames of bamboo brooms. Each strike would cause a dark lump, which caused excruciating pain as if the bones had been crushed.

Extensive Electric Shocks Applied from Multiple Electric Batons
Officers at the labor camp would frequently use several electric batons to apply electric shocks to a practitioner for an extended period of time. Niu Xuelian, head of Division No. 5, and the husband of Officer Zhang, who is also a labor camp officer, are most notorious for their brutality. They would apply electric batons to a practitioner's palm, arch of the foot and the top of skull. Many practitioners had blisters on their forearms as a result of the electric shocks. Infections from the blisters would cause excruciating pain. An elderly practitioner continued to suffer from an infection even six months after this torture.

Striking the Head with a Folding Stool while Gagging the Mouth with a Rope
Practitioner Ms. Yi Shuling was thrown into a cell in isolation in May 2003. Labor camp officers ordered inmates Sun Xun and Ren Fengxia to torture her, depriving her from drinking any water, and Liu Xiuyun struck her on the head with a folding stool. Her mouth was gagged with a rope and she could not brush her teeth. One night in July 2003, Ms. Yi Shuling was secretly sent to a mental hospital for further abuse.

Hanging Up with Arms and Legs Twisted behind the Back
The practitioner is pushed onto the lower bunk facing downward. Her hands and legs are pulled back and tied up together. She is then lifted and hung on to the top bunk. Only her chest and head touch the lower bunk, supporting the entire body weight. Under this torture, the practitioner's face would turn dark purple and she would have difficulty breathing. If kept in this position too long, the victim would face death by suffocation.

Pressing the Back against the Wall
The practitioner would be forced to stand on tiptoes, both arms raised upward with her back pressed against the wall. If she lost her balance or her back shifted away from the wall, criminals would kick or crush the practitioner's feet with plastic high-heeled shoes. The kicking lasted until the legs and feet of the practitioner turned dark purple and were terribly swollen. Some practitioners would not be able to walk, and their feet remained deformed for over half a year. On one occasion, all male officers were called in to torture all the practitioners in the labor camp with their backs pressed against the wall for a whole day. Some elderly practitioners who failed to last in this position were cursed at and beaten by inmates standing nearby, who kicked their legs and crushed their feet.

1. [Guangshan County, Henan Province] Chen Yurong Detained for Distributing Falun Gong Truth-Clarifying Materials
Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Chen Yurong, 45, lives at Yangbang Lane, Luhe Village, Luocheng Township, Guangshan County. On January 1, 2005 she went to Yanhe Township to distribute truth-clarifying materials. Policemen from Yanhe Township arrested her and immediately took her to the county's detention center. Before the Chinese Lunar New Year she was detained in the backyard and her family was not allowed to visit her.
2. [Kashizepu County, Xinjiang AR] Falun Dafa Practitioner Chen Donghua and Others Arrested, Their Whereabouts are Unknown
On January 22, 2005, police from Hetian District arrested practitioners Chen Donghua, Li Haijuan, and Li Xulong from Kashizepu County, Xinjiang AR. Currently their whereabouts are unknown.
3. [Henan Province] Yan Xinliang Detained at the Xiping Police Precinct for Distributing Truth-Clarifying Materials
Practitioner Mr. Yan Xinliang, who is approximately 20 years old, is from Henan Province. He was detained at Xuchang City's Forced Labor Camp for three years and then released. In mid-February 2005, when he went to Xiping County to distribute truth-clarifying materials, personnel from Xiping County's Police Precinct detained him.
4. [Guang'an City, Sichuan Province] Chen Daiping and His Wife Zhang Rong Arrested for Distributing Truth-Clarifying Materials
On January 8, 2005 when Chen Daiping and his wife Zhang Rong from Fangping Village, Guang'an City, Sichuan Province, went to Hualong Village to distribute truth-clarifying materials, a group of policemen arrested the couple. Zhang Rong was beaten so brutally that she could not walk. Because the couple had three children under 10 years old at home, Zhang Rong was taken back home the second day while Chen Daiping was detained at Cell No. 4 in Guang'an City's Detention Center. On January 19, Chen Daiping's family went to see him and requested that the detention center release him, but their request was rejected. Chen Daiping's life is in peril due to brutal torture. He can not eat anything. During a medical check-up he was found to have ascites (abnormal accumulation of serous fluid).
5. [Chongqing] Lei Lichun's Life is in Peril
On June 19, 2004, a group of plainclothes policemen arrested practitioner Mr. Lei Lichun. Lei Lichun's wife, a non-practitioner, was also arrested at her workplace. The police confiscated 4,800 yuan in cash and all their personal belongings from their apartment. They dragged the couple for interrogation to a place where they keep demi-wolves. That same night they took Lei Lichun to the Pipashan Detention Center. The detention center refused to accept Lei Lichun because he was diagnosed with lung problems. Personnel were called in to take Lei Lichun back to Guang'an City.
Luo Cheng and other personnel from Guang'an City's National Security Team took Lei Lichun to the Chengbei District Police Department, put him in handcuffs and shackles, and deprived him of sleep for several days. Lei Lichun's non-practitioner wife was also sent to Guang'an City's Hua Brainwashing Class and detained there for several months. Lei Lichun's uncle was forced to write seven pages of "testimony." All the crimes he listed [against them] were completely fabricated.
Lei Lichun staged a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Later he showed symptoms of multiple diseases. The Hua Detention Center urged police to take Lei Lichun back, but Luo Cheng and others ignored the notice. Instead, they instigated Lei Lichun's wife to divorce him, claiming, "He would not make it" to Chinese New Year. Lei Lichun's parents demanded his release several times, but all in vain.
6. [Beijing] Chen Yuzhen Again Arrested
Practitioner Ms. Chen Yuzhen, 52, is from Wangjing Village, Zhoukoudian Town, Fangshan District, Beijing. She obtained the Fa in 1997 and cultivated steadily thereafter. In April 2002 he was sentenced to 18 months of forced labor. Since her release, personnel from the police station and 610 Office have been harassing her incessantly. In mid-January 2005, local police arrested Chen Yuzhen, ransacked her house, and confiscated many of the personal belongings. Right now, Chen Yuzhen is being held at the Fangshan District Detention Center.
7. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Jia Guojie and Peng Meizhi Arrested
Jia Guojie is from Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province. In 2001 he was arrested at Guangzhou City's First Military Medical University for distributing Dafa truth-clarifying materials. Later he was sentenced to three years of forced labor and was not released until the beginning of 2004. On around the New Year's Day of 2005, a railway policeman arrested Jia Guojie on a train in route from Guangzhou City to Taiyuan City while he was distributing truth-clarifying materials. Jia Guojie is now being held at Jishan County's Detention Center in Shanxi Province.
Peng Meizhi is from Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province. Police from the Haizhu District arrested her during the 2005 Chinese Lunar New Year when she was visiting her relatives in Guangzhou City.
(Clearwisdom.net) A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."

Facts of the Persecution - The Brutality at the Zibo Labor Camp in Shandong Province
Falun Gong practitioners were cruelly tortured by the police at the Zibo Labor Camp in Shandong Province. Their evil deeds are countless. The Labor Camp guard Liu Jicao fiercely pinched the neck of Falun Gong practitioner Shao Chengle at the labor camp hospital. Policeman Xu of the health section hit Shao Chengle's waist with his knee, and also used a pair of iron pliers to pry open Shao Chengle's mouth to force food down it, causing much bleeding. Another practitioner, Zhang Guangbao, was handcuffed for the whole summer and was often beaten and kicked. The prison guards handcuffed Chu Liwen to an iron bed and then instructed Yang Hongjun to tie up Chu's legs and brutally torture him.
Seven or eight collaborators were assigned to brainwash every newly abducted Falun Gong practitioner. They did not allow practitioners to sleep, but kept brainwashing and torturing them. As a result, many practitioners became muddle-headed and felt dizzy as they walked. In the coldest winter, the labor camp only allowed Falun Gong practitioners to wear light garments. The guards even used needles to stab practitioners' faces.
