(Clearwisdom.net) Clearwisdom correspondent Wang Ying reports from San Francisco: At noon on February 27, 2005, more than a thousand Falun Gong practitioners from around the world held a rally, "Facing Violence and Hatred with Compassion," at Union Square in San Francisco. They hoped to raise people's awareness of the persecution that is happening in China and together end the persecution. The persecution of Falun Gong practitioners has gained extensive attention of people from all walks of life. Members of U.S Congress and city and state council members came in person and gave speeches to urge the Chinese Communist regime to stop the persecution.

California Congressman Tom Lantos sent a letter to support the rally, and sent his representative, Ms. Margery Farai, to present it. Lantos pointed out that we will let the Chinese Communist regime see that even when facing the darkest evil, justice will ultimately triumph. Mr. Lantos stated, "I'm very pleased to be with you to educate the people in the San Francisco Bay Area community about the peacefulness and rationality Falun Gong practitioners have demonstrated in the face of the Chinese Communist regime's over five-year persecution. I appreciate the peacefulness and benevolence that Falun Gong practitioners and their supporters have been upholding for a long period of time."
Congressman Lantos continued, "We have learned about the persecution of many more Falun Gong practitioners, and it is really shocking to us. Just because they follow the principles of Falun Gong, and practice the exercises, these courageous people have been subjected to brutal torture, their family members threatened and deprived of the basis for surviving. The number of people persecuted is so large, it is really shocking."
Congressman Lantos further stated, "The Chinese Communist regime conducts atrocities against so many people who follow peaceful and benevolent principles. It's unacceptable and incomprehensible to me. When we attend a rally like today, we salute those who are facing violence and hatred with their peacefulness and benevolence. We will let the Chinese Communist regime see that even if facing the darkest evil, justice will ultimately triumph."
California State Assemblymember Mark Leno issued a certificate of award to Friends of Falun Gong. He congratulated Falun Gong practitioners on holding the rally entitled, "Facing Violence and Hatred with Compassion." Mr. Leno said "You have created a good environment and solid foundation for believers of Falun Gong in San Francisco."
City and County of San Francisco Supervisor Chris Daly also attended the rally. When talking about the Chinese Communist regime's interference with Falun Gong practitioners' participation in the Chinese New Year Parade in mid-February, Mr. Daly stated, "Everyone may have heard about the Chinese New Year's parade held in San Francisco last week. At the beginning, when I heard that Falun Gong practitioners' parade application was rejected, I immediately told my Falun Gong friend, 'I will participate in this parade; if you can't participate, you can join me in the parade.'"
Mr. Daly pointed out that the organizer of the parade has a connection with the Chinese government that persecutes Falun Gong, which puts pressure on the organizer. He said, "Last week, I proposed to hold a court hearing about the manner in which the Chinese Chamber of Commerce treated Falun Gong. Through a court hearing, we will expose the Chinese Communist regime that persecutes Falun Gong, and its relationship with its agent in San Francisco. We will strive to secure Falun Gong practitioners' rights and freedom of belief, and follow the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance."
Former veteran UK diplomat Lord Thurlow also came to support the activity. He stated that we should let more people learn about the persecution of Falun Gong, because exposing the evil is the most powerful weapon to end the five and a half years of persecution. In the past 50 years, the Chinese Communist Party has committed a lot of crimes. Up to now, many Falun Gong practitioners have been tortured to death, and even their children are persecuted. However, the Chinese Communist regime has been attempting to cover up these persecution facts using lies and propaganda, deceiving not only the people in China, but Chinese people overseas through its embassies and consulates. Lord Thurlow said, "We can no longer allow this to go on endlessly. The media in a free society has the responsibility to let the Chinese people learn the truth. We call upon all the media to speak out for Falun Gong practitioners."
Council Member Forrest Williams of San Jose, California congratulated Falun Gong practitioners on holding the rally and their peaceful journey over the past five years. He stated that even though Falun Gong practitioners have been subjected to brutal persecution in China, they have never faced it with hatred. Instead, they have been benevolent and kind. Council Member Williams stated that he hope the persecution will soon be stopped.
Council member Linda Maio from Berkeley, California stated, "It is very important to stand by you; you have the right to practice your belief. Americans takes the freedom of belief as the basis for creating the nation. We originally came to this country to escape persecution for our beliefs, so it is very important to stand by you. Wherever I travel, I see Falun Gong practitioners on the streets clarifying the facts to people. I think all religious believers should stand by you to support you. Because the persecution has affected you, it will affect every one of us."

American citizen Charles Lee's fiance, Yeong-ching Foo talked about the experience of Charles Lee being arrested for attempting to tell the Chinese people the truth about Falun Gong when he returned to China. She called for people's continuous attention to his situation and ask them to extend their help to rescue Charles Lee and bring him back home. Ms. Wang Yiqun talked about the Chinese Communist regime's brutal persecution, which has caused so many Falun Gong practitioners to be tortured to death. Many of their children left behind have to live a homeless life. She hoped that kind-hearted people can help rescue these orphans. Dr. Huang Wanqing from Georgia talked about his younger brother Huang Xiong, who was arrested in April, 2003 for practicing Falun Gong. His whereabouts are now unknown. Dr. Huang said he appreciated the efforts of U.S. Congressmen and the American government in their support of Falun Gong. He urged the Chinese government to immediately release Huang Xiong and all Falun Gong practitioners who are being detained by the Chinese Communist regime.
There was also an anti-torture exhibition and the "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" Art Exhibit at the rally site. A man who signed his name on the yellow cloth calling for an end to the persecution said, "I'm very glad that you can tell all this to people, because much information about what is happening in China has been blocked and the outside world has no idea what is taking place there. Today is the first time for me to learn about the persecution of Falun Gong in China. This persecution should not happen."
(Clearwisdom.net) It was Health Expo time again in Christchurch, New Zealand and the organizer gave us a booth with many conveniences. For example, we could use the space outside the hall to hold exercise demos. Our booth location was very good as it was on the way for visitors to view exhibitions, and practitioners could distribute truth-clarification literature. We placed a signature collection book in our booth to call for the New Zealand government to urge the Chinese government to stop the persecution. When everyone was busy introducing Dafa and explaining the facts, there were visitors coming to sign and it seemed that they already knew the facts. The practitioners enlightened that along with the fast progression of Fa-rectification, more and more people have come to know the truth. Dafa practitioners are one body; for example, some visitors signed and said to a practitioner, "We heard about the persecution of Falun Gong when we were in another country. We signed there and this time we want to support Falun Gong practitioners in New Zealand."

A young girl about 5 years old came to sign her name and then asked her friends to sign. The practitioners gave them folded paper lotus flowers and the children said delightedly, "Thank you!"
We set up poster boards for truth-clarification near the exercise demo. Many people came inside to sign after viewing the posters outside or listening to practitioners' explanation of the facts. Many of them said, "I want to sign. This is important." Some signed themselves and then told others to sign. A lady stood in front of the posters for quite a while and said when a practitioner approached her, "It is inconceivable that today in the 21st century there is such brutal persecution on earth. I'd like to do something to help." We told her to let her family and friend know the facts and write letters to the government to call attention to the persecution.
Two practitioners explained the facts in detail to a Chinese student and answered many questions. They were pleased that the student became to know the facts and gave him a copy of Zhuan Falun to read. Within one day, the signature forms were full and there were even signatures in spaces outside the forms.
(Clearwisdom.net) At around 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, a few practitioners in yellow scarves gathered in Place Jean Rostand under a grey sky. By midday, the number of practitioners had increased dramatically, and onlookers had gathered to watch the waist-drummers rehearsing and female dancers in costume warming up.

At around 2 p.m., after a slow build-up, colorful cars and vans for the floats arrived, and familiar banners brightened up the scene. By the time the parade began, a lot more practitioners had gathered and the atmosphere had become powerful. Passersby showed a great deal of interest, especially after long strings of firecrackers exploded one after another, frightening away evil spirits and waking up the entire neighborhood. Suddenly the weather began to brighten and the parade, some 300 yards or so long, wound its way through densely-populated streets, attracting smiles from a pleasantly surprised public. Along the way, the firecrackers raised spirits, contributing for the first time, to this event in the busy Paris streets. This long colorful procession and music at last wound up at the Place de la Republique, where for a few hours large crowds gathered to watch the dancers and to talk with practitioners.
Sunday began with distinctive gold and scarlet costumes brightening another
grey start, this time at the Eiffel Tower. As on the day before, the energy
field became steadily more powerful and drew large crowds wanting to know more
about Dafa and the situation in China. A lot of people signed the petitions
against the persecution.
It was widely felt that this was a particularly memorable celebration, which
succeeded in spreading the truth about Dafa to the people of Paris. Last year's
memories, of arrests and interference from the authorities on the occasion of Hu
Jintao's visit, have been transformed into a good omen: a much brighter future
for the people of Paris, and the rest of the world.

(Clearwisdom.net) The Falun Dafa Association introduced the beauty of Falun Dafa by giving wonderful artistic performances on the United Administration Square of Nantou County from 7 pm to 9 pm on Feb. 26, 2005. The entertainment included traditional fairy dance, piano music, and Zheng and Guqin playing and chorus. The event received great support from the Nantou County Congress, the county government and Puli town office. Congressmen Zhou Yixiong and Wu Dunyi and the Mayor of Puli, Ma Wenjun, gave speeches and expressed their support for promoting the spirit of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance.

More activities like this are needed to improve the general atmosphere of our society."

Renowned painter and calligrapher Mr. Li Fengfu expressed high praise for this entertainment. He said, "It is a very positive activity, especially when violence is prevalent in our society. This art has a very positive influence on the general atmosphere of society." Mr. Li has been promoting traditional Chinese poems, calligraphy, guqin and painting. When mentioning the CCP's sabotage of Chinese traditional culture, he said, "During the Cultural Revolution, Red Guards burned so many guqin! They destroyed the traditional culture. Fortunately, it's been preserved in Taiwan!" Mr. Li doesn't give performances at every concert, but he took his antique guqin from the Tang Dynasty to perform at this event to show his support for "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance."
Mr. Cai Jinli, CEO of the Lanshan Coffee Company, gave the activity incredible support. Many celebrities attended the activity as a result of his invitation. Having lived in Taipei for thirty years, Mr. Cai is well established in his career. However, once he almost died from a serious disease. Since his recovery, he has a strong urge to contribute to his hometown and society, and he helped make this entertainment possible. With encouragement from his Falun Gong practitioner friends, he is determined to read Zhuan Falun from cover to cover.

Many Falun Gong practitioners had prepared for as long as a half year on this activity. Ms. Wu Suzheng talked about its meaning: "Beautiful Puli Town is where many excellent artists gather. But many of them have been to mainland China and heard many slanderous reports about Falun Gong from the Chinese media. We want to show the beauty of 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance' to artists, government officials, people's representatives and celebrities through today's entertainment. An Anti-Torture Exhibition in Zhongxing New Village tomorrow will expose the cruel persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party."

Five years of brutal persecution have failed to eradicate Falun Gong. On the contrary, Falun Gong has spread to one hundred million people in more than sixty countries of different ethnicities, languages and political systems. Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong, has received support and awards from governments around the world.

Ms. Tian Li from Weihai City, Shandong Province died on February 21, 2005 after enduring about three-years of paralysis of her entire body resulting from the presecution she faced at the hands of Weihai City 610 Office* head Liu Jie.
Ms. Tian Li, 42 years of age, began practicing Falun Dafa in the second half of 1998.

At around 8 or 9 o'clock on the morning of May 22, 2002, Weihai City "610 Office"* head Liu Jie led four people to Tian Li's work unit -- Weihai City Hailin Hotel. They grabbed Tian Li and viciously beat her. They took her to the Chengli Police Station of Weihai City and continued beating her. Finally, they detained her in Weihai City Gaoqu Detention Center. Tian Li shouted, "Falun Dafa is good." Police cuffed her hands behind her back, forced her to sit on a metal chair and exposed her to the heat of the sun. At about 1 o'clock in the afternoon, Tian Li wanted to move her body, which had grown numb. However, the metal chair fell down forward and she hit the ground, immediately losing consciousness. When she awoke, she found she could not move anymore. The police ignored this and once again tied her up to the metal chair. When they later realized that something was wrong, they sent her to Weihai City Hospital. Her whole body was paralyzed. After being in hospital for more than a month (during the period of hospitalization, her family had to pay for all the medical and living expenses), the hospital could not cure the problem, so they sent her home to recuperate. Even after almost three years, Tian Li's entire body remained paralyzed. She needed assistance to relieve herself, and her legs and arms had now become deformed.
Tian Li had always been a very healthy person in the past. The police, trying to cover up their torture of her, stated that Tian Li "hurt herself by jumping out of a building to try to commit suicide."
At that time, Tian Li's family prepared to sue the police, who became frightened at the news. In order to press the lawsuit, the Party secretary of Tian Li's husband's work unit had looked for her husband to testify, saying that they would compensate her with several hundred thousand yuan. The provincial government also became aware of this incident. However, the family still has not received the so-called "compensation" up to this day. Tian Li's work unit has stopped her salary since she was arrested by the 610 Office. After Tian Li became disabled, her work unit leader had promised to arrange her retirement because of her physical condition, allowing her to receive a pension. This matter still has not yet been settled.

Mr. Qian Naizhang
Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Qian Naizhang, 42 years old, was an employee of the Agricultural Bank in Gaizhou City, Liaoning Province. In the morning of December 20, 2001, he practiced the Falun Gong exercises in front of his doorsteps. He was thus arrested by the police and illegally detained for 15 days.
Following the arrest and detention, he was then sent to the Yingkou Labor Camp for two years of forced labor. During the forced labor period, he went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. The police and other lawless persons physically and verbally abused him and he suffered the torture. In May 2002, Qian Naizhang walked out of the labor camp with the power of his righteous thoughts and was compelled to wander about homeless to avoid the persecution. When he was in Haicheng City the police again arrest and sent him to a detention center. He went on 12 days of a hunger strike to protest the persecution and his life was in critical condition. The detention center was afraid to take responsibility if anything happened to him, thus they released him. As this was happening, since Qian Naizhang's supervisors were afraid of being implicated, they sacked him from his job and did not give him a single cent for living expenses. Qian Naizhang met with financial difficulties. Since his health was fragile and he was under great mental pressure, he passed away on February 7, 2005.
Mr. Lin Baoshan
Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Lin Baoshan, 40 years old, lived in Xinhua Village under the administration of Chengguan Office. On October 1, 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal and say words of justice for Falun Gong. He was arrested. After his release, the police often went to his residence to harass him. He was compelled to leave home to avoid further harassment.
During the 2001 Spring Festival, police arrested and illegally sentenced him to two years of forced labor. He was sent to the Yingkou Labor Camp. He escaped the labor camp with the power of his righteous thoughts in May 2002 and but had to be away home to avoid the persecution. As he suffered serious physical and mental abuse from the persecution, he passed away in December 2003.
Mr. Wu Junjie
Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Wu Junjie, 57 years old, lived at Maerqin Village in Wuhuanchi Town of Fuxing County. After he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in 1999, county police and local police frequently detained, fined and ransacked his residence, all in violation of the Chinese constitution. When the county police came to his house at one time and asked him if he would continue practicing Falun Gong, he replied in the affirmative. They thus arrested and illegally detained him at the county detention center for over three months. He was also extorted 2,000 Yuan. Thereafter, the county police came to his residence many times to harass him. As they caused him much physical and emotional pain, he passed away on January 4, 2005.

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Gu Dongying from the Wuqing District in Tianjin City died as a result of persecution on March 28, 2002.
Mr. Gu was a 62-year-old practitioner from Anbiaofa Village, Dongmajuan Town, Wuqing District, Tianjin City. He began learning Falun Dafa in 1997 and greatly benefited from it, both physically and mentally. After the crackdown on Falun Dafa began, he went to Beijing three times to peacefully appeal for the rights of Falun Dafa practitioners, all in the year 2000. In December of the same year, he was reported while distributing pamphlets that revealed the truth about the persecution of his peaceful practice. Police from the Dongmajuan Police Station illegally arrested him at his home and detained him in the Wuqing County Detention Center.
During his detention, he courageously refused to go against his conscience by renouncing his faith in Falun Dafa. Because of this, he was sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp. Due to his treatment there, his body and mind suffered greatly. By March 28, 2002, he had become critically ill as a result of the torture he had received in the labor camp. In spite of emergency resuscitation he received in the hospital, he passed away.

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Yang Hailing was born in 1968 and began to practice Falun Dafa in 1997. She lived in the Donghaikuang area of Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province. Prior to her death, Yang Hailing was persistent in Dafa practice. In addition, together with other local disciples, she went out to distribute truth-clarifying materials. They did this to prevent local people from accepting additional lies from Jiang's regime. The gross abuse at the No. 1 Detention Center in Mishan, Heilongjiang Province lead to Ms. Yang Hailing's death. Below is the newest information regarding this case:

Police in Mishan City arrested Ms. Yang Hailing on the night of April 25, 2002. That same night she suffered torture and was forced to "confess." She was beaten so hard that she could not stand up, and needed to be carried to a car. The next day, perpetrators Ju Hongjun and Liu Xiaohu from the criminal police team came to the detention station to interrogate her. They jabbed needles into her head, arms and hands, and hit her.
In June, when perpetrators Meng Qinqi, Du Yongshan, Li Gong and others from the Political and Security Section brought her in for another round of interrogation, they handcuffed her hands behind her back with one hand from above the shoulder and one from the lower back, dripping hot-spicy mustard oil into her nose with a syringe and spreading it into her eyes. They beat and tortured her for an entire day.
In August, five Falun Dafa practitioners were unlawfully sent to a forced labor camp, but the labor camp declined to accept them. Even after two months, the detention station still would not release them. On October 14, 2002, Yang Hailing and about a dozen practitioners staged a hunger strike and insisted on being released. They were force-fed in retaliation. On November 1, they were sent to the Mishan Hospital for emergency treatment. On November 9, they were returned to the No. 1 Detention Station.
On April 11, 2003, when Yang Hailing and three other Dafa practitioners were sending forth righteous thoughts, the detention center head, Ma Baosheng, brought a guard and male prisoner to beat them. Ma Baosheng grabbed Yang Hailing's hair and threw her head into the bed board. A sickening sound was heard and Yang Hailing was rendered unconscious. The next day, April 12, at around 1:20 p.m, Yang Hailing died at the detention center.
Yang Hailing's body was covered with black and blue marks.
During her detention, the Mishan Court authorities sentenced Yang Hailing to a 12 year prison term. In less than one year, she was tortured to death in the detention center. Afterwards, the detention center didn't allow any visits from any detainees' family members in order to block the news. Even if one was allowed to see someone through some personal ties, no one was allowed to say anything. The news was tightly concealed.

(Clearwisdom.net) On January 31, 2005, the Tiexi District Court of Shenyang City illegally tried Ms. Shi Shengying, a Falun Gong practitioner from the Tiexi District, in the Courtroom 12 on the second floor of the courthouse. Shi Shengying, 65 years old, was arrested in early December 2004, while she was talking with the people about the truth of Falun Gong at Xinghua Park in the Tiexi District. Since then, she has been illegally detained in a Shenyang City jail.
During her so-called "hearing," the chief judge repeatedly interrupted Shi Shengying's testimony. Ms. Shi explained that she had been disabled due to a car accident and that she had recovered only after beginning to practice Falun Dafa. Although she had benefited from Falun Dafa both physically and spiritually, she was being inhumanly persecuted for her belief at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. The chief judge interrupted her, "Do not talk about these things. Just say whether you spread propaganda about Falun Gong in the park." Ms. Shi's family members questioned the interruption and said that it is absolutely legal for anyone to practice Falun Gong and to be a good person. The main judge then hastily announced, "That is the end of the hearing. A sentence will be announced on a selected date after a court discussion."
Right before the opening of the trial, a tall policeman threatened, pushed and hit Ms. Shi's husband while he was trying to inquire about some hearing-related questions. When Ms. Shi's daughter saw that her mother still wore a pair of plastic slippers in the wintertime, she brought a pair of cotton shoes for her mother. However, the police refused to allow the daughter to give them to her.

My husband, Cui Zhilin, was 43 years old when police arrested him for practicing Falun Dafa on September 18, 2002. He was sentenced to 11 years and jailed him in the Jinzhou Ctiy Nanshan Prison. My husband benefited from practicing Falun Dafa, which follows Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. He refused to succumb to the brainwashing in the prison. The defendants threatened to kill my husband. When I visited him in June 2004, Pan Zhiyong said to him, "Cui, you don't have to be bad. I will try my knife on you in a few days." On August 5, around 1 p.m., I received a phone call from the defendants, telling me my husband had died the previous day, after jumping off the building during an interrogation session. When my family and I went there, we found that my husband's body had been washed and soaked in a chemical solution prior to freezing. Judging from the wounds on my husband's body, my husband did not jump off a building and must have been tortured to death by these two defendants. Descriptions of the wounds on his body:
Head-On the back right side, 3 cm from the top, there was a round hole, 2-3 cm in diameter, and a dent that looked like it had been punched by a small hammer. Inside his mouth, there was a rotten spot on his gum, which looked like the result of a shock of an electric baton.
Arms-On both sides of his arms and hands there were black and purple striped marks, like those made by tightly tied rope. Inside the right elbow, a piece of skin 5 cm long, 1 cm wide and 3 cm deep had fallen fell off, and there were obvious electric baton shock marks on both of his arm pits, showing up as round, pale red marks.
Legs-The inner sides of both of his legs, including near his penis, had obvious electric baton shock marks. The outer sides of both of his legs had 10-15 cm long, 3 cm wide bruises from being beaten. On the back of his left calf and the front of both calves were more electric baton shock marks. On both sides of each ankle there were round teeth marks that looked like bottle caps had been pressed into them. Also, both feet seemed to have been soaked in water for a very long time, as they were white and winkled.
Chest-In the middle of his chest and under the ribs, there were clear electric baton shock marks.
Back-Below both shoulder blades there was a bruise on each side about 35 cm long and continued down to the lower back. These bruises were 5-10 cm wide.
The whole penis and testical area was swollen with bruises.
Seeing my husband's body like this, my family and I requested that we be allowed to take his body home for a proper burial, but the defendants absolutely refused. I begged to take some photos of my husband's body, which they also rudely refused. They would not allow us the pay our respects to my husband's body before it was cremated. I asked for the photo of his death scene, but the defendants said that no photo was taken at the scene. They said, "On the morning of August 4, 2004, at 10 a.m., two of us started interrogating him in the office on the second floor. At 4:20 p.m. Cui Zhilin went out the window and jumped off the building. We were both present and tried to grab him, but failed. He died on the spot."
I asked them take me to the scene of the incident. I saw bricks neatly placed on clean ground. If my husband had truly jumped from the second floor, which is only about six meters up, he should not have died and at the worst only broken his legs. These facts show that my husband was tortured to death by the two defendants and did not die from jumping off the building at all. The two defendants could not provide any evidence to support the idea of my husband jumping off the building.
I was so overcome with grief that I was numb and could not think properly. The defendant's employer sent Criminal Office Chair Zhang Qing to coerce me into signing my name to several papers. I signed my name while I was irrational with grief and not conscious of what I was doing. I greatly regret that I signed those papers.
Based on the above facts, I want to bring the two defendants to justice. They are police, but they violated the law by torturing my husband to death at will, then hiding their crimes and lying to me and my family members. They violated Criminal Law articles 248 and 234 and must pay for their crimes. They are able to avoid a legal judgment, because their employer is treating them with respect that they do not deserve. In order to bring honor to our constitution and punish these lawless police officers, I am speaking out for my husband based on Criminal Law article 84. I am filing this lawsuit against these two defendants with the Liaoning Provincial People's Procuratorate. Please, send people to investigate this case immediately and bring these two criminals to justice.

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Wang Bingwen from Qingdao City, Shandong Province, has been persecuted in Qingdao City Forced Labor Camp for a long time. After discussion, Mr. Wang's family members decided to go to the forced labor camp to firmly request his release. On February 3, 2005, eleven of his family members went to the forced labor camp in Li Village, Qingdao City. Not only did they request to see their relative, but they also demanded his release.
In the office of the forced labor camp, police rudely rejected the requests of the family. The police could not legitimately answer any of the righteous questions that Mr. Wang's family asked and could only say that until Mr. Wang was "reformed" he would not be able to see his family. They then requested to see relevant official documentation of Mr. Wang's case, but there was none.
The labor camp police tried everything they could to stop the family from exposing their lies. The Wangs were very firm and continued "clarifying the truth" loudly outside the office. More and more people gathered outside to see what was happening. The family kept explaining the truth about Falun Dafa and the details of the persecution of practitioners by the employees of the forced labor camp. This frightened the officials so greatly that they dispatched 23 policemen to try to stop them from exposing the facts to the public.
An obese policeman, whose ID number was 3758203, carried Mr. Wang Bingwen's mother outside and threw her on the ground. Another policeman, with the last name of Ji, and who reeked of wine, dragged another member of the family out. The family reprimanded him, saying that he was not worthy of the title "People's Policeman." He shamelessly retorted, "This skin [police uniform] is exactly for people like me." He also rudely said that it was not his duty to answer any questions from the public. His police ID number was 3758083. Another policeman, wearing glasses, and who was about 50 years old, carried Mr. Wang Bingwen's father out and also threw him on the ground. His police ID number was 3758033. The police ID numbers of the other policemen who were involved are 3758201, 3758233, 3758239, 3758089, and 3758588.
Later, the chief of the forced labor camp showed up. He did not have the courage to make eye-contact with Mr. Wang Bingwen's family members. With deceitful measures, he allowed only Mr. Wang's father alone to be in the room, and then shamelessly offered to arrange a visit for Mr. Wang's father, father-in-law and mother-in-law who are not practitioners, and said that other people could not visit Mr. Wang.
Mr. Wang Bingwen's family members immediately asked loudly, "Which law or which document contains such a rule? You will not let us in because you are mistreating our relative and you are afraid of being exposed."
The police tried to trick the family by saying that they could visit Mr. Wang if they went out through the back door, but in reality outside the back door was a police vehicle waiting to take them away. Some family members were deceived and went through the door, but Mr. Wang's wife saw through their trap. She firmly refused to exit through the back door and exposed their lie on the spot. "You deceived us this way last time, but once we went there, we were taken away. I will not go! Only if you really arrange a visit will I go." The policemen dragged her towards the door, but she firmly sat on the ground and refusing to cooperate. Finally, the police called the "110" police, and two other policemen with ID numbers 095110 and 020588 came and forcibly dragged her into the police vehicle whose license plate number was B1545. The police vehicle then went to the back door and the policemen forcibly dragged the other family members, who were waiting for the promised visit, into the vehicle. The policemen threatened to send them to the local police station for detention.
The family members were not afraid of the threats, and firmly resisted going to the police station, while continuing to clarify the truth. The police had no recourse but to send them back home.
The family members did not get to see their detained relative, but the righteous thoughts and actions by so many of Mr. Wang's relatives greatly frightened the evil. We hope that more families of illegally detained Falun Dafa practitioners will become awakened, resist the persecution, rescue their relatives, support justice, and end this catastrophe that should never have happened in the first place.
Falun Dafa practitioner, Mr. Wang Bingwen from Qingdao City began a hunger strike in August 2003 in Qingdao City Forced Labor Camp to protest his illegal detention and the persecution and torture he has been receiving for the past 18 months. He is still being force-fed and is now detained in the intensive training division. The Qingdao City Forced Labor Camp and relevant authorities still refuse to release Mr. Wang Bingwen.

(Clearwisdom.net) After reading Gao Zhisheng's open letter to the National's Peoples Congress, a body of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), I cannot find the exact words to describe my feelings of the CCP's use of the law to persecute its own people.
For hundreds of years, the people of China have been exploring a proper political system for their nation. The Cultural Revolution in the 1960's sadly had the Chinese people experience the ruthlessness of not being governed by law. From the Chairman of the State to the common people, no one escaped the pain of the revolution. After that, China went through a period of serious reflection and chose to be governed by law. In the past twenty years, China has established a relatively complete legal and judicial system, joined the WTO and signed two human rights treaties. One would assume that China had realized the importance of integrating with the rest of the civilized world, choosing the law and abandoning dictatorship and violence.
Since the summer of 1999, however, the Chinese are again witnessing anti-law violence. The law is being manipulated and violated at will to persecute a large group of innocent people. The fragile legal concept of people working together within a judicial system has been completely wiped out. All of the past efforts to construct a fair legal system have been destroyed and turned into an empty dream.
In his open letter, Mr. Gao reveals that, in dealing with Falun Gong practitioners, "The attitude of law enforcement in China is to view the law to be as worthless as a pair of worn-out shoes." What they are doing is against the law, but yet they are doing it in the name of the law. The whole legal system, according to Mr. Gao, "Has become numb toward the law, human nature, and human dignity. They are completely irresponsible and deal with everything randomly."
The practice of Falun Gong is completely an issue of faith. People who follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are like a clear current in the muddy tide of Chinese people who have lost their faith and moral restraint. The noble character of Falun Gong practitioners positively influences the people around them and attracts more people to the practice. Yet in China, at the end of the twentieth century, an unprecedented and absurd persecution is occurring against Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. It is the most base and cruel persecution that has ever occurred in the history of China.
As for Mr. Gao's client, Falun Gong practitioner Huang Wei, there are thousands like him. In the detention centers and labor camps, many people have died under torture. They are from all walks of life and of all ages, some younger than 18 and others over 70. One case I know about is of a 62-year-old lady who was arrested by the police while walking down a street. She became very ill at the police station and was sent to the hospital for "treatment." Her family asked permission to stay by her side but were denied. Several days later, her family received a notice informing them that she had committed suicide. The family members asked to see her body but were refused permission. Two days later the family only saw an urn with her ashes in it. During the whole process of the case, the police station didn't follow any legal procedures or abide by any legal principles. When the woman's family filed a lawsuit, no government institutions responded. Both the police department and the prosecutor gave the same excuse as those in Huang Wei's case, "No legal procedures are provided and Falun Gong cases are not accepted in the court of law." The woman's incident took place in August 2002. Her family is still on their long journey of appealing to higher offices.
Take another example. Two years ago Sun Zhigang, a college graduate who went to Guangzhou to look for a job, was put in the "Collection Center" because he didn't have the special ID issued for temporary stay in the city. The "Center" is where "floating" people in the city are detained before being sent them back to their hometowns, most likely in rural areas. In Sun's case, he died in police custody after being at the center only a few days. His case received extensive attention and provoked heated discussions. As a result of the incident, the "Collection Center itself," whose creation violated the constitution in the first place, was formally abolished. Nevertheless, the abolition of this system was not accomplished through legal procedures. In today's China, how many inhumane things are happening in the name of law! So many kind-hearted people die from police abuse and torture, actions discarded by civilized society a long time ago. So many people with noble character are being sent to jail in the name of law. Freedom of belief, which is clearly stated in China's Constitution, is trampled on. The principles strictly stated in the Code of Criminal Law are deliberately misinterpreted. The state and legal systems have become tools that evil gangsters use at will for their own benefit. The judicial system that should be protecting the people is completely turned against them.
According to China's current legal principles, any state institution that exercises its public rights shall follow the constitution. Then, what is the 610 Office? In which article of the Constitution of the People's Republic of China can one find a definition of its power, duty, nature, and status? This notorious "office" rides above all state institutions, illegally sending citizens who practice Falun Gong to labor camps, brainwashing centers, and prisons; levying heavy fines; arbitrarily arresting and torturing them; and even ending their lives. The 610 Office is above the law. Where does it get such great power? Where can one find the dignity of the state law? Where is the people's will? Where is justice? How is it that one can one make rules and regulations but not abide by them? Why can law be used to persecute but not to protect? Looking at the history of China and other countries, is there any system as evil as this one?
Law can only restrict people's action, not their minds. This is a universal principle of the law and why the constitution of each country grants the right of freedom of belief. China's constitution, too, states it clearly. On the issue of Falun Gong, however, China's government uses the law to forbid the practice.
The damage to the legal system and the nation is more severe than the Cultural Revolution. After all, the legal system in China was not well established during the Cultural Revolution. The judiciary system had already collapsed. Today, however, the legal system is relatively stable, and a complete judicial system exits in China. Still, the law is violated at will and people who enforce the law act as assistants to the evil. The people's representatives pass the laws in the People's Congress Hall on behalf of the people and the whole nation. It is promulgated in the name of the People's Republic of China. It is a rule meant to protect every citizen. When it is violated, is it just the law that's been violated? The evil is treading on the entire nation and the will of its people. They are in defiance of the law and human dignity.
How can the Chinese people tolerate the existence of such evil? How can the Chinese law be trampled on so easily?
I remember an article on the Law and Mind website, titled "The Grief of Law." Since the summer of 1999, the legal system in China has become a catastrophe. If such harmful violence is not stopped, not only will the legal system in China suffer, but the whole nation will slide into an abyss.
This is a terrible shame Any true scholar of the law and anyone who has faith in upholding the law must be deeply saddened. How can someone sell his or her soul to the authorities by "waving the banner of law" while following the evil instigators to persecute and lie in exchange for a little personal benefit? The law is merely a tool for governing.
During the past few years, apart from several scholars who have conscientiously criticized such phenomena, like the legalist Mr. He, most people shamefully keep quiet to protect themselves. Mr. Gao's letter highlights the shame of the legal community.
In the face of such disaster and violence, keeping quiet is silently encouraging the evil.
We cannot keep silent anymore. We have to condemn the persecution, for such condemnation is critical to the dignity and spirit of law. It is also critical to the development of the country and the construction of the legal system. It is a moral issue and an issue of basic human values. If the law of a country cannot protect the basic rights of its citizens and the basic dignity of humanity or cannot stop the abuse of power, then that law should not be called a law.
To uphold the dignity of the law, to encourage China to develop along a healthy path, to enable justice to prevail, to stop all unfair treatment to kind-hearted people, and to be responsible to your own conscience, please speak out your condemnation of this current state of affairs.
Here may I suggest that all those legal scholars who still have a conscience co-sign a letter to the People's Congress to abolish the labor camp system. We need to improve the legal system and stop all the violence that is against our constitution. The dignity of law needs to be restored. The dignity of the nation needs to be restored.

Xu Guangchun assisted Jiang Zemin in the illegal persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. He moved to Henan Province in mid-December to assume his position as Henan Province Chinese Communist Party Committee Secretary. At the end of January 2005, he became the Henan Province People's Congress Director. Xu gave the direct order and pressured Guangming Daily to publish a slanderous article on Falun Gong in 1996. He is also directly responsible for the spread of malicious propaganda by CCTV's "Focal Point Interview."
Xu Guangchun, age 60, worked as a cameraman at the Anhui Province Reporting Bureau of the Xinhua News Agency. Because of close ties between Jiang Zemin and Xu's mother-in-law's family, Xu held strong allegiance to Jiang. Xu was transferred to Shanghai substation of Xinhua News Agency, and later followed Jiang to Beijing. After arriving in Beijing, he worked as the head of Guangming Daily. A few years later he became the Deputy Minister for CCP Central Propaganda, and was eventually promoted to Minister for Radio and Television Broadcasting. Xu's wife, Han Wufeng, utilized his position to improve her own work status. As a high level official, she is extremely overbearing, causing many people to complain.
The biggest Guangzhou Newspaper Group Corruption Case occurred at the end of 2002, and the "high-ranking officials involved in bribery" were exposed to the public. Xu Guangchun was one of those high-ranking officials. The amount of money involved was astounding. After the exposure of his crime, Xu displayed increased loyalty and flattery toward Jiang, even removing money from a special fund with the help of Zeng Qinghuai in order to promote a certain female singer, known to be favored by Jiang. As a result, Xu was able to avoid legal punishment with Jiang's protection, and maintained his official title.
Xu was even more of a disgrace in the film and television industry. Many expressed dissatisfaction with his work. After only one year of work, Xu was fired from his position as Deputy Minister for Chinese Central Propaganda and Head of State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, and was to be relocated in Henan province. Still, Xu managed to manipulate reporters and publicly declared that the central committee was giving him a comprehensive inspection, implying that he would be entrusted with great power in the future.
Xu is one of the main criminals responsible for spreading hateful propaganda to sustain the genocidal persecution of Falun Gong.
Long before the persecution began, Xu was already framing Falun Gong. In 1996, under the order of Jiang Zemin's scoundrel political regime, Xu abused his authority as the Deputy Minister for CCP Central Propaganda to exert pressure on national mainstream newspapers, trying to force them to publish anti-Falun Gong articles. This clearly violated the "Three No" policy set by the state council. (The "Three No" policy is the policy set by the state council on the issue of freedom of belief. The three NO's represent "NO support, NO suppression and NO slanderous attack.") When this attempt failed, Xu used his own private connections within Guangming Daily newspaper office to publish slanderous articles on Falun Gong in that newspaper.
After Jiang began his public suppression of Falun Gong in 1999, Xu further abused his power as the Minister for Radio and Television Broadcasting, and later as Head of State Administration of Radio, Film and Television. He used television news media to attack Falun Gong with fabrications, slander, lies designed to incite hatred, suppression of public opinion, and blockades to prevent the appearance of truthful news reports, thereby poisoning the world's people.
Xu's wife, Han Wufeng, also assisted in the persecution Falun Gong practitioners with fierce brutality. Han's crimes include violent terrorist-style arrests, illegal detention, forced brainwashing, severe physical and psychological abuse - resulting in injury or disablement, and bankrupting practitioners.
Falun Dafa practitioners filed a lawsuit against Han in 2003, charging her with violating people's basic rights regarding health, life, and freedom of belief. Practitioners requested the court to investigate her legal responsibility and order her to compensate for her crimes. During the prosecution process, practitioners received sympathy, attention and legal assistance from many people in society.

(Clearwisdom.Net) Recently Falun Dafa practitioners from the Changchun area held an experience sharing conference. The experiences and understandings are summarized as follows:
1. Look at things with righteous thoughts
The single thought of a Dafa practitioner can bring earth-shaking changes, depending on the starting point from which we look at a problem. If each of our thoughts stands on the point of Fa-rectification and meets the requirements of the Fa in different levels, it is really like what Teacher said,
"Having gone through so many changes so that the grand wish is fulfilled, the years and months pass by in a single thought"(Hong Yin II, provisional translation).
As an example, a practitioner told a story of "saving sentient beings with one thought." One time a female practitioner was studying the Fa at home, when she saw an elderly woman outside. She had one thought, to let her come in and to tell her the truth about Falun Dafa. As anticipated, the elderly woman came in and said, "I have heart disease. Could I come in to take a rest?" The practitioner warmly gave her a chair to sit in, and then "clarified the truth" to her. The elderly woman thanked the practitioner and stated that she and her husband would recite, "Falun Dafa is good."
2. Unite as a whole body and advance together
Although the Fa-rectification is proceeding rapidly and the environment is becoming better and better, some Dafa materials production sites around the country were destroyed and some coordinators were arrested. During the experience sharing, we summarized several points on this situation:
Problem 1: Every practitioner had his/her own point of view and thought that his/her own method was the best one, so that he/she validated oneself instead of validating Dafa, and didn't harmonize and reinforce each other.
With regards on how to harmonize with each other, I gave an example:
Recently the resident director was planning to force Dafa practitioners to write the five statements (similar to the three statements). Hearing this news, practitioners got together and shared their understandings. Rather than sticking to our own viewpoints, we communicated what we had enlightened to regarding to this situation. Finally all practitioners were an agreement, and we decided that, like Teacher said,
"Every person you come into contact with in society is someone to clarify the truth to" (To All Students at the Nordic Fa Conference).
Since she was coming, we should clarify the truth and save her. If we clarified the truth very well, she wouldn't come anymore.
When the director went to a practitioner's home, the practitioner talked about her changes since practicing Falun Gong, how she followed the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" to be a good person, and her experience of being arrested and beaten. Finally the practitioner talked about the persecution of Dafa practitioners around the country. For example, female Dafa practitioners were stripped of their clothes and put into the male cells; a 40-year-old male practitioner (whom the director knew) was beaten to death; another 26-year-old college student, who was employed in Guangzhou with an annual salary of 50,000 yuan was arrested and beaten with three of his ribs broken and all his toenails pulled out.
The practitioner broke into tears as she spoke. The director was also moved by the practitioner's compassion, and she stood up with tears in her eyes and went away without saying a word. Afterwards the director said, "We have gotten together and discussed. We have concluded that Falun Gong practitioners are good persons. From family life to educating children, getting along with people and taking care of elders, they are completely different from the descriptions given on TV."
Problem 2: The coordinators did not properly position the relationship between studying the Fa, sending forth righteous thoughts and making Dafa materials.
Through sharing experience with the coordinators, we found that the coordinators tended to place materials production as first priority, instead of studying the Fa and sending forth righteous thoughts. They usually had an excuse, saying that they had no time to study the Fa and send forth righteous thoughts. For example, the new students needed to be looked after in doing the exercises and some other things needed to be dealt with, etc.
In this final stage, the coordinators should pay more attention to security issues, and they should look at this issues from the perspective of Dafa and be responsible to oneself and to the Fa. Poor actions are due to an unclear understanding of the Fa principles and by not having a strong sense of "one body," which is not being responsible to fellow practitioners, nor does it meet the standards of the righteous Fa. They should genuinely improve according to the Fa. Wherever Dafa practitioners are, all the myriad things are renewed and all the evils are eliminated.
Teacher said,
"Even now some people still can't concentrate when it comes to reading the books. Those of you who do work for Dafa, especially, shouldn't use any pretexts to conceal your not reading the books or studying the Fa. Even if you do work for me, your Master, you still need to study the Fa every day with a calm mind and cultivate yourself solidly. When your mind wanders all over the place as you read, the countless Buddhas, Daos, and Gods in the book see your laughable and pitiable mind, and see the karma in your thoughts controlling you, which is detestable. And yet you cling to delusion and fail to wake up. Some volunteers go long periods of time without reading or studying the Fa. How could they do Dafa work well? You have unwittingly incurred many losses that are hard to recover. Past lessons should have made you more mature. The only way to prevent the old, evil forces from taking advantage of the gaps in your mind is to make good use of your time to study the Fa." ("Towards Consummation" Essentials for Further Advancement)
3. Keep righteous thoughts and righteous actions until the Fa rectifies the human world.
During the Fa-rectification, all practitioners should work together to rescue fellow practitioners, to provide practitioners outside China more and accurate information, to awaken righteous people, to clarify the truth to save sentient beings, and to eliminate the Communist evil specter.
All of these are important and need practitioners to do them together. Practitioners should coordinate with each other on our own initiative, look inward when encountering problems, and do well on the various projects with the boundless power of the Fa and wisdom that Teacher gives us.
In addition, Dafa practitioners should completely eliminate in our minds all the thoughts and habits developed by the evildoing Party's culture, send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate all memories related to the Communist evil specter, and destroy in our environments all related articles (quotes, documents, badges etc).
Whatever challenges we encounter are what we should work on. Let's completely remove all obstacles in the Fa-rectification, and greet the day when the Fa rectifies the human world.

(Clearwisdom.net) I live in the countryside. Since the spring of 2003, I have been bringing truth-clarification materials and VCDs with me when I go to the market to sell vegetables. I clarify the truth to people face-to-face. When I meet people who don't understand the true situation about Falun Gong and the persecution, I give them a copy of the VCD for them to watch at home, so that they can learn that Falun Dafa is wonderful.
Usually, I start by chatting with fellow vendors around me. I ask them where they live, and if they know of anyone practicing Falun Gong in their area, and if they know about Falun Gong. Whenever I mention Falun Gong, people will pay attention or look at me with shock in their eyes (because the persecution is severe in my district), and ask me if I practice Falun Gong. I then reply yes. They ask why I practice it even though the government doesn't allow it. I then tell them about how my body used to be sick, and how I couldn't even ride a bicycle. Now I am over 50 years old, but I can ride a bike for over 40 kilometers with 100 kilograms of goods. I start from how I have benefited and how the practitioners are being persecuted. Usually I will have quite an audience by this time.
One time, a woman in her thirties saw that I was giving out Falun Gong materials in the market and came up to me. I was still handing out materials and I didn't avoid her. She stopped and said to me, "How dare you, spreading Falun Gong." I talked to her about how the media lies about Falun Gong. She said, "How dare you say that, do you know what I do?" I said, "I am not concerned about what you do. You are first a human, and a human needs a moral standard to conduct themselves by." She then said, "Do you know what my husband does? He works for the government." I said, "I don't care what he does. If he's in a police station or in a department that persecutes Falun Gong, then it makes sense for me to clarify the truth to you! Tell him not to persecute the innocent and kind practitioners. Tell him to learn the truth, don't let him commit wrongdoings, and tell him that this is for his own good." I talked to her about the persecution that the practitioners are going through, and told her how the media lies to the public. She started smiling in understanding after listening for a while. I gave her some truth clarification materials and a VCD, and put them into her bag. Whenever I meet people who start smiling after listening to me clarifying the truth, I feel happy for them because they now know the truth. This kind of joy for others is stronger than any joy I might feel for myself.
Through clarifying the truth face-to-face, I learned that when a person has been poisoned extensively by the lies, he usually has reservations when he first hears truth clarification or when he reads the materials. When a second or third person talks to him about the truth, he understands more.
Take my cousin for example. She thought I was crazy for going to Beijing to validate Dafa, getting arrested, detained and beaten up. She even made fun of me. Later, after my uncle (her father) was sent to the hospital, the mother of another practitioner stayed in the same room. The practitioner clarified the truth to my family, and they became more understanding. My cousin and her mother told me that the other practitioner told them the same things I told them, and thus they realized what is really going on. They became understanding and supportive towards me, and my two cousins started reading the Falun Gong books.
One time while I was walking, I started chatting with a passer-by. Later, I asked if there were any practitioners in his neighborhood. He said yes, but that they might be practicing at home. I asked him if he knew that Falun Gong is good. He said that he had seen a VCD and knows that Falun Gong is good. He said, "There are so many people practicing Falun Gong outside China. Jiang Zemin can't suppress them all." He told me that a relative of his is a village secretary, and that he said the same thing. He then talked about how the officials in all levels of the government are corrupt. I had tears of joy for him and the village secretary.
In August of 2002, officials started a brainwashing class in my city. The police station chief, town secretary and officers all came to arrest me. They brought with them two women to monitor me and took me away in a police vehicle. As soon as the vehicle started moving I clarified the truth to them. They asked questions and I answered them. Slowly their attitude softened. In the brainwashing class, I clarified the truth to the perpetrators, to suppress the persecution and refused to be "transformed". They sent me to the detention center. While there, I clarified the truth to the detainees, and taught them how to sing Falun Dafa songs. After 15 days of detention, under the protection of Master, I came out with righteous thoughts. In the past, the perpetrators always monitored me and always came to keep surveillance on me and harassed me at my house. Since leaving the detention center this time, the police have not come back to harass me. It's now easier for me to clarify the truth, so I do so whenever I have the chance.
As Master's Fa-rectification progresses, and through the practitioners' sacrifices in clarifying the truth, it is now easier for people to listen to our truth clarification. Now when I say I practice Falun Gong, people won't be shocked or misunderstand me. Many people from the market know that I practice Falun Gong. Some of them shout, "Falun Dafa is wonderful!" as a way of saying hello when they see me.
Practitioners in my district take all opportunities to clarify the truth with wisdom. We give out flyers and materials in faraway locations. In order to let people living in the far away mountain districts learn the truth, we will travel 120 kilometers overnight to hand out flyers. We always get back around 2 or 3 in the morning, yet we always feel joyful as we travel back.
I am thankful to Master for assigning me a cultivation path, and giving me the environment to clarify the truth in the market. I have learned the power of "righteous thoughts and righteous actions" and righteous faith in Falun Dafa. At this point in time we should further understand Master's teaching, "Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People." We should value our opportunities and complete the great mission that our Master has given us, and bring salvation to more sentient beings.
These are some of my experiences in clarifying the truth. I hope that fellow practitioners can kindly point out my mistakes.

(Clearwisdom.net) Under the guidance of our current homeroom teacher, everyone in the whole class has become a young Falun Dafa practitioner. We have benefited greatly mentally, physically and spiritually. We would like to share some of our stories of how we worked on the Fa teaching of "thinking of others first."
Young practitioner A: Thinking of others first
How should we go about raising our own xinxing and increasing our virtue? "To think of others first in everything" would be the best way. It meant that we let others enjoy benefits and convenience before it is our turn. It can also be put this way: think from the perspective of others under all circumstances.
The following is an example of "thinking of others first:"
Several times, both my younger brother and I wanted to read the same book at the same time. I used to overpower him and seize the book quickly from the shelf before my brother could reach it. But there was a voice in my head, "Let your younger brother read it first!" I ended up picking another book to read, and then we exchanged our reading experience and shared the joy of reading together.
If we always handled all situations by thinking of others first, then there would not be any issues of fighting. If everybody has a kind heart and thinks of others at all times, understands that letting it go and stepping back means "the seas and the skies are boundless," and follows the Fa principles of Falun Dafa to gauge his or her conduct, then I believe this society will be peaceful and prosperous. If people conduct themselves according to the Fa principles, then there will be no need for police! Why would we need police if everyone managed their affairs well?
Young practitioner B: Think of others in every situation
My 5th Grade teacher taught our whole class that we should adhere to "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" • the law of the cosmos • in our conduct, achieving "thinking of others first before ourselves." In the beginning not everyone understood the true meaning of this requirement, so our homeroom teacher patiently explained to us that this means we must think of others first, be considerate of others, and be courteous to others.
I remember once that someone was trying to borrow the same book from the library at school as I was. I ended up not letting him get the book first. Later on I realized that I did not pass the test; I did not think of others first. I immediately returned the book and let him borrow it.
Today during lunchtime, the school cafeteria served the popular "pearl tea" and many students lined up to get it. I let others get in line first. Ah ha! I finally achieved "thinking of others first" and raised my xinxing. Wow, I felt truly fabulous.
Teacher Chen taught me to appreciate Dafa, study Dafa and raise my xinxing greatly. What I wrote earlier was all about raising xinxing and passing tests. There were so many incidents that helped me to purify my heart, increase my virtue, get rid of my karma, and gradually purify and cleanse my not-so-good mindset to an untarnished heart. I could not have accomplished all these things if they were not bestowed upon me by Falun Dafa and Teacher.
It is so rewarding to study the Fa, and I will do my best to let others read this great book, Zhuan Falun.
Young practitioner C: It was so wonderful when I considered others first
There would be no conflict if we all considered others first. In this society, people do not think of others first which results in conflicts and fighting. People never realize that letting others have the benefit will not bring about negative results. They treat fighting as joy, resulting in a world with conflict and war. If people can think of others first, then society will change for the better. Therefore, we should all think of others first. Only then will society change for the better.
Once when I was eating my snack, my cousin came and asked me if she could have some too. At that instant I remembered the Fa of "thinking of others first," so I gave her some. She took it and happily went away. I felt so rewarded and grateful. I never thought I could feel so wonderful just by truly thinking of others first.
When you argue and fight with others, you did not think of others first. When you take other people's possessions, then you give them virtue. When we think of others more, then we can raise our xinxing. After this incident, I realized that the Fa of "thinking of others first" can be truly wonderful.
Young practitioner D: Practice thinking of others first in our life
"Thinking of others first" is a prerequisite for a Dafa practitioner, and it is how we should conduct ourselves in dealing with others in this society. Regardless of where we are, we should always put the Fa of "thinking of others first" to practice in our lives.
Before I studied the Fa, oftentimes I would fight with my brothers for their personal belongings. Sometimes I would get them after the fight. But since I became a Dafa practitioner and learned the Fa of "thinking of others first," I finally understood how to work with others peacefully and happily.
Young practitioner E: Try our best to "think of others first"
"Think of others first" means that we first consider others before considering ourselves. Once my sister needed to use the computer but I did not let her use it; instead I insisted on using it first. I definitely did not "think of others first," nor did I "look within" because I was selfish and self-oriented. Instead, I was blaming others. Even though I did not accomplish "thinking of others first," I will persist in my Fa study. I believe I will be able to accomplish it.

I know of a woman in her eighties who looks very healthy. She cooks for three or four others every day, washes the clothes, cleans house, and does the shopping. She walks briskly, and she is always smiling.
People ask why she is so happy. She tells them that after she started practicing Falun Dafa, she became healthy and no longer easily tires, as if she was much younger. However, the reputation of the practice has been trampled by Jiang Zemin's regime, and even worse, the regime has deceived many people with it's propaganda against Falun Dafa. If people do not wake up, they will suffer tremendously.
To save those who have been fooled by the lies, she took 1,000 yuan from her savings and donated the money for making "truth clarification" materials. Her husband is deceased, and she supports herself and four family members on a meager monthly pension of 200 yuan. You can imagine how long it takes her to save 1,000 yuan.
Fellow practitioners hesitated to accept her money, but she insisted. She said, "Had it not been for this great practice, I don't know how many more thousand yuan I would have needed to spend on medication, while still feeling miserable all the time. I feel great now. Many people say that I am becoming younger and younger. I have benefited so much. It is my wish that more people can benefit from Falun Dafa!

Greetings to Reverent Master, Greetings to Fellow Practitioners!
I am Chen Fengmei, 47, from Taidong, Taiwan, and a tailor by trade. I have practiced Falun Dafa for almost four years. Even though I need crutches to walk, I have no difficulty moving around. My external body does not restrict me, and my mind and spirit are free. All this is the result of my practicing Falun Dafa. Now I would like to share my cultivation experience.
Suffering illness at three; walking with crutches
When I was three years old, I contracted polio. After that, I had to walk with crutches. I had to give up attending high school because of my handicap. My mother sent me to be trained as a tailor, so that I could support myself. Time flies: four years of apprenticeship and more than twenty years of working as a tailor went by. In spite of my difficulty moving around, I had a regular income from my specialized skills and lived quite comfortably. My life, however, was like a pond of still water. I was often puzzled about why and for whom I was living.
During those years, in order to seek inner peace, I associated myself with some religious groups that had compassion towards handicapped people. I was unable to get more involved however, because I felt there was an invisible wall that I could not break through. The purpose of life remained unclear to me.
Happy to encounter Falun Dafa; poking through the cloud and seeing the blue sky
I remember that my elder brother first began to learn Falun Dafa in January 2001. He introduced me to Zhuan Falun. I eagerly finished the entire book within a week. Suddenly I realized that this was what I had been waiting for all my life. I believe many fellow practitioners have had the same feeling. I started my cultivation right then.
Cultivation means that one has to study the Fa, cultivate the mind, and do the exercises. Knowing that the Fa is precious, I had no difficulty studying, although I had only a sixth grade education. When I read the book repeatedly, the Fa principles again and again unlocked my cultivated side, as if veils were lifted layer after layer. Practicing the exercises, however, was difficult for me. I learned the exercises by watching the videotape at home. Without crutches, I had to do the standing exercises by leaning on the armrest of a sofa. From the beginning, I could see Master's image teaching me the correct hand movements. After I had practiced for a while, I once saw lotus flowers and Faluns in my hands. I could feel Master's boundless compassion. Another time when I was doing the exercises, I saw myself in another dimension, walking freely without crutches. I was moved to tears. I knew Master was encouraging me, and I became more diligent in my cultivation.
Changing my attitude and viewing my handicap with an untroubled mind
I learned to use crutches when I was five. My parents treated me the same as other children, sending me to school and assigning me housework to do. When I became more mature, I could not help complaining about how unfair that was, seeing all my classmates walk and run with ease. Particularly when I was unhappy, my resentment became even stronger. After obtaining the Fa, I read in Zhuan Falun,
"When our humankind evolves to this extent today, almost everyone is born with karma built upon karma, and everyone's body has quite a lot of karma."
I thought this was how I was to pay what I previously owed. So I accepted the fact calmly and began to live my life fully.
My brother once found an experience-sharing article from the Internet for me. It was a cultivation story about a handicapped practitioner from northeastern China. He did not complain at all about his deformity. Instead, he was very diligent in his cultivation, clarifying the truth to resist the persecution. Falun Dafa manifested miraculously in him. The article touched me tremendously. I felt that I was so fortunate to have obtained Falun Dafa. I hoped more people could have the same fortune.
Melting into the Fa and receiving benefits in both mind and body
One day the owner of the costume factory where I used to work called me. He wanted me to come back and help finishing a line of products. I accepted. When I got there, he was not anxious to put me to work. He asked me instead, "How come you have changed so much?" It was a compliment on the absence of my complaining personality.
After practicing Falun Dafa, I often reconsidered my behavior. I could calmly treat things that I once complained about. With my boss's reminder, I began to notice that my manner of speaking has changed gradually. I went back to work there, but I was no longer concerned about wages and the amount of work. I did what the boss asked me to do and offered as help as much as I could. After my attitude changed, the work opportunities came one after another. I also got along very well with my colleagues.
My xinxing improved gradually, and I rarely caught a cold. Before practicing Falun Dafa, I often had colds, felt dizzy, and had to take pain pills for my migraine headaches.
Breaking through human mentalities and stepping forward bravely to validate the Fa
I obtained Falun Dafa after the persecution of Falun Gong started. I seldom attended the group studies and never joined the group exercises. I depended on my brother for information or obtaining articles from the Internet. When I learned of the cruel persecution against Falun Gong practitioners in China, I participated in mailing truth-clarifying materials to China. I also tried to make calls to China, but I stopped because I was too nervous.
In 2003, when the Security Bureau in China detained Taiwan practitioner Lin Xiaokai, fellow practitioners organized a bicycle tour around the island to appeal for Lin Xiaokai's rescue. Taidong was one of the stops that had a press conference. To get all the preparations completed, practitioners needed to participate fully.
Normally, except for going to work and back home, I seldom went to public places or participated in public activities. From studying the Fa principles, I realized that this was an opportunity to step forward and validate the Fa. Striving to eliminate the mental obstacles, I drove my three-wheeled motorcycle and participated in all the activities with the group. At the end of the activities, I was able to give truth-clarifying materials to people comfortably and talk to strangers with ease. When I got home, I found I could meditate with double-crossed legs. Later, I registered to attend the Fa-conference at the end of the year. With the help of fellow practitioners, I broke through the limitations of my physical body and participated in Falun Dafa activities, joining my fellow practitioners.
Sharing in learning and sharing in cultivating, striving to be diligent, doing the three things well as Falun Dafa practitioners should
On September 1, 2004, with the encouragement of fellow practitioners, I attended a nine-day seminar for the first time. After that, I read several of Master's new articles in succession. It was like a stick warning to me. After I read more cultivation stories from A Journey to Ultimate Health published on the Minghui website, I saw my weaknesses and fellow practitioners' diligence. I felt that I was far behind. I needed to hurry and catch up. The exercise site is the environment for group cultivation. I asked my brother to order a custom-made chair for me. Using that chair, I have started going to practice the exercises with the group every morning since November 11. When I do the standing exercises, I use the chair to support my body. It is still inconvenient and my feet also hurt very much after I get home every day, but I could really stay with fellow practitioners, knowing what we should do as one body in the process of the Fa-rectification and what I could do without waiting for and depending on others. Now I study the Fa and find time to go out to clarify the truth every day, no matter how busy I am at work. I require myself to do well the three things Master asked.
Master says in Zhuan Falun,
"When it's difficult to endure, you can endure it. When it's impossible to do, you can do it."
I use these words to encourage myself, and I would like to use these words to encourage all other fellow practitioners.

(Clearwisdom.net) I am seventy-two years old this year. For many years, I was the village leader, though I left the post in 2004. During my tenure in office, due to pressure from the authorities above me, I regrettably participated in the unscrupulous persecution of Falun Gong. I listed the names of the Falun Gong practitioners for "black listing" purposes. My actions had a negative influence and caused damage to Dafa.
On March 27, 2004, I lost consciousness due to a sudden severe illness. The doctor at the nearest township hospital, where my family members took me, did not admit me because my illness was quite severe. My family members then rented a car and took me to the county hospital. The physicians at the county hospital later diagnosed the illness as a heart disease, accompanied by a lack of blood circulation to the brain. A thorough check-up later revealed a tumour about the size of a finger knuckle inside my brain. My family members then transferred me to the Changchun City hospital to continue the hospital treatment. The expenses for all this came to about 6000 yuan. I was terminally ill. Seeing my critical condition and anticipating the worst, my family members began to prepare for all the things to do after my death. Awaiting death, I lay helpless on the bed.
At the time when I was about to give up all hope, I was most fortunate and lucky to have obtained a treasured book -- Zhuan Falun. This marked a significant new transition in my life. I anxiously read the entire book, assimilating the teachings like a hungry and thirsty person. By reading and studying the book, I became aware of the truth about life and the universe.
In the book Zhuan Falun, Teacher Li Hongzhi taught us to follow the universal characteristics of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance," to model ourselves as good people, striving to become better and better, eventually being the best we can be. This motivated me to search inside to reflect on all the bad deeds that I had done in the past. I then decided to turn over a new leaf and to thoroughly rectify my past bad actions and behavior in life. Additionally, I constantly studied the Fa and continuously uplifted my understanding. At the same time, as Master Li purified my body, my body was gradually restored to good health.
After studying and reading Zhuan Falun many times, I started walking by gradually leaning on a stick, which I have now discarded to walk freely. The people around me initially thought that I would not live because of my severe illness. My recovering at such a rapid pace was a big miracle as it was beyond imagination.
Master Li Hongzhi gave me a second life by restoring my health from the brink of death. I certainly should cherish and treasure this rare and unique chance. I must study the Fa diligently and at the same time, let more and more people around the world understand the truth of the persecution. I must also introduce Falun Dafa to more people so they can also benefit from the teachings and practice. I certainly will use every practical means and action available to repair all of my past mistakes and errors, and to rectify and redeem all the damage that I unknowingly committed in the past.

1. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Cui Xiaoping Is Tortured And Her Life Is In Danger
Ms. Cui Xiaoping used to work in the Education Commission in Leshan City, Sichuan Province. She was sentenced to three years because she went to appeal on April 25, 1999, with over 10,000 other practitioners. Ms. Cui had to do 15-16 hours of heavy labor each day when the persecution started. She refused to be "transformed" and insisted on continuing the practice.
After Ms. Cui Xiaoping was released, she was arrested again around April or May in 2004. She went on a hunger strike in the prison for two months. She was force-fed by a tube inserted into her stomach. Her stomach was injured, and she had chronic stomach bleeding. When Ms. Cui's life was in danger, the prison finally allowed her family to take her home for treatment. As soon as Ms. Cui's health recovered a little, the police arrested her from home again and sent her directly to the Ninth Section in the Sichuan Women's Prison. She has been on a hunger strike since then to protest the persecution. She is very weak now and her life is in danger. Ms. Cui is currently being held in the Jianyang City Yangmahe Women's Prison in Sichuan Province.
2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] The Police Arrest Ms. Liu Shuyan and Ms. Jiang Jihui
The police arrested Ms. Liu Shuyan and Ms. Jiang Jihui from Changchun on the night of February 9, 2005, when they were distributing "truth clarification" materials on Weixing Street. The police sent them to the Changchun City Third Prison in Sheling the following day.
3. [Wuan City, Hebei Province] The Police Arrest Ms. Jin Fengqin and Other Practitioners for Truth Clarification Materials
On the night of January 23, 2005, police from the Yangyi Town Police Station arrested Ms. Jin Fengqin, Li Shulin, Ms. Ren Yuying, and Ms. Xu Lan while they were distributing truth clarification materials in Bolin Village, Yangyi Town, Wuan City. These practitioners are currently imprisoned in the Wuan City Prison.

4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Pan Gang Is Taken to the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp
On February 6, 2005, four police from the Nongan County Police Station carried practitioner, Mr. Pan Gang from Nongan County, Changchun City, to the Zhaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp. He was very weak at that time.
5. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Xueyuan Is Sentenced to One Year in a Forced Labor Camp
On January 12, 2005, police from the Beinangang Police Station in Hadatun arrested two practitioners. Ms. Li Xueyuan was sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp. The other practitioner was an elderly lady whose name is unknown. She was sentenced to three years in a forced labor camp.
6. [Guangdong Province] Ms. Liang Huizhen and Zhang Hong Are Arrested While Clarifying the Truth and Distributing Flyers
On November 12, 2004, Ms. Liang Huizhen and Zhang Hong from Guangdong Province went to Luoding City to visit relatives, clarify the truth and distribute flyers. The police from the Luoding City Shengjiang Town Police Station arrested them. Liang was sentenced to three years in a forced labor camp. Zhang was sentenced to one and a half years in Sanshui Forced Labor Camp. Police confiscated both practitioners' household belongings.
Ms.Liang Huizhen is from Qingyuan City. On June 13, 2000, she went to Beijing to validate the Fa. The Beijing police arrested her, confiscated her personal property and blackmailed her family on the phone. They said, "Bring 5,000 yuan to the police station or we will send Liang Huizhen to a labor camp for three years." She was fined and detained for 45 days.
In January 2001, the police arrested Ms. Liang again for distributing truth clarification materials. The police confiscated her household belongings, fined her and detained her. On March 14, 2001, the police arrested her at 4 o'clock in the afternoon.
On April 9, 2001, more than 10 people went to Ms. Liang's house and arrested her at 7 o'clock in the evening. Ms. Liang was sent to a brainwashing center for three months. She had no freedom.
On October 12, 2001, the police confiscated Ms. Liang's personal belongings at about 9 o'clock in the evening. Five officers confiscated Falun Gong books. Even her two children were persecuted.
On December 28, 2001, police from Sanyuan, Guangzhou Province, went to Ms. Liang's rented house at midnight. The police used the excuse of checking residential registration to arrest Ms. Liang. They confiscated her Falun Gong books, damaged the furniture and sentenced her to the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp for two years.

1. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Xu Changlu and Others from Changhai County are Arrested
Mr. Xu Changlu is a resident of Guanglu Township, Changhai County. He started practicing Falun Dafa before the persecution began on July 20, 1999. On November 11, 2004, personnel from the Changhai County Police Department arrested him and ransacked his house. They cruelly tortured Xu Changlu because they found a printer, some Dafa books, and truth-clarifying materials in his house. Altogether five Dafa practitioners were arrested.
2. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Li Xianwen Arrested
Mr. Li Xianwen, 39, is a resident from the No. 2 Team, Chenjiatun Village, Daxing Township, Huludao City. Police from Huludao City arrested him in February 2004. He is still being detained, but his whereabouts are unknown.
Li Xianwen's wife passed away over three years ago, and his son Li Zhen, 13, is in Grade 5. He and his 74-year-old grandmother Ms. Dong Delan depend on each other for their livelihood.
3. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Shi Guixiang Detained
Ms. Shi Guixiang is a resident of Dalian City. At around 2:00 p.m. on January 24, 2005, six officers from the Xigang Police Department, Baiyun Street Police Station came to her work unit in two police cars, arrested her, then ransacked her house and confiscated her cell phone and other personal property. She is now being held at the Yaojia Detention Center.

4. [Loudi City, Hunan Province] Peng Dongmei and Others Arrested
Ms. Peng Dongmei and two other Falun Dafa practitioners from Loudi City have been missing for over two months. Recently, it was learned that a National Security agent spotted Peng Dongmei distributing truth-clarifying materials at the beginning of November 2004, and arrested her. Two other practitioners were arrested shortly afterwards. They are now held in Loudi City's No. 2 Detention Center. They staged a hunger strike to protest the illegal persecution.
5. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Zhong Hanxiang and Zhong Suyun Arrested
During noon-time of February 3, 2005, policemen Xue Qingwen and Huang Ruizhang led nine officers from the Meijiang District Police Department and from the National Security Team and from the Jiangnan Police Station. These perpetrators ransacked practitioners Mr. Zhong Hanxiang and Ms. Zhong Suyun's home without going through any legal procedures. Afterwards, they took the two practitioners away under duress.
6. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Guan Jiamei Sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Guan Jiamei is a resident of Fushun City, Liaoning Province. Personnel from the Shiwen Police Station took her to the Nangou Detention Center in Fushun City against her will, without notifying her family members. After being held for 15 days, she was sent directly to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City for two years of forced labor. Her elderly husband had a stroke, and her son is looking after him.

(Clearwisdom.net) A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."
