(Clearwisdom.net) Since the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, Falun Gong books have been destroyed on a large scale in China, and Falun Gong practitioners have lost all rights to appeal and defend themselves. China's people thus have no way to find out what Falun Gong is and what kind of people Falun Gong practitioners are. The only information they hear and see are the deplorable accusations and condemnation of Falun Gong, voiced by the state-controlled media. Many people wonder, what is Falun Gong? What kind of people are Falun Gong practitioners? The following stories will help answer those questions.

On March 17, 1997, The Dalian Daily published a report entitled, "Tribute to an Un-named Elderly Man." The report told a story of an elderly gentleman who built roads for the villagers. This man's name was Sheng Lijian, and he was over 70 years old. In just one year, he quietly built four public roads for a total length of over 1,100 meters (about 0.7 mile) for the villagers. When people asked him who he worked for and how much he got paid, he said, "I practice Falun Gong. I don't need to get paid for doing something that benefits everyone."

On July 10, 1998, the China Economic Times paper published a report, "I Can Stand Up!" The subject of the report was a Ms. Xie Xiufen from Handan City, Hebei Province. She had been paralyzed for 16 years. Starting on July 1, 1996, her husband had pushed her in her wheelchair to a local Falun Gong practice site. From then on, she diligently practiced the Falun Gong exercises daily and cultivated her moral character according to Falun Gong's principles. Two months later, a miracle occurred: Ms. Xie could stand after being paralyzed for 16 years. Her illness was cured. She said excitedly, "I was paralyzed for 16 years. It is the founder of Falun Dafa, Mr. Li Hongzhi, who has re-arranged my life's path. I now have a new life!"

On the afternoon of March 9, 2002, Mr. Chen Ruqing, a Chinese immigrant living in Montreal, went with a friend to the car repair shop to get his car fixed. Suddenly, they heard a child, shouting while running, "A girl fell into the canal!" Mr. Chen ran towards the canal right away and saw a little girl struggling in an ice hole, about 10 meters away from the bank. The weather had turned and it was getting warmer. Therefore, the ice had started to melt. Kids had been playing on the ice and the little girl stepped on thin ice and fell into the canal. Without a second thought, he crept on the ice towards her, got hold of the girl's hand, and rescued her.

On November 17, 2003, the Immigration Department honored 24 citizens. They had invited them to the Quebec Parliament to honor them for selfless acts in which they had helped others in need. Mr. Chen Ruqing was one of the honorees. Ms. Michelle Courchesne, Quebec's Minister of Immigration said, "As far as I know, this is the first Asian-Canadian citizen to receive such an honor in Quebec. I am pleased for the contributions of the Chinese community and our Chinese friends to our society. I'd like to say 'thank you' to our Chinese friends."

Today, when moral standards are declining, it is rare to see people like Mr. Chen Ruqing, who would risk their own lives for the sake of others. Some people may even consider them foolish. So why did Chen Ruqing risk his life? He selflessly acted, because he is a Falun Gong practitioner and because of the principles he follows. A reporter asked him why he acted so selflessly. He replied, "Mr. Li Hongzhi taught us that as a practitioner of Falun Dafa, if you do not help stop a murder or arson when you see it, you are not a true practitioner. Consequently, if I saw someone in danger of dying and did not rescue her, I wouldn't be a qualified practitioner. Upon seeing a little girl struggling in the icy water, I did not think of anything else but to save her."

Stories like the aforementioned can be heard everywhere where there are Falun Dafa practitioners. If you ever get the chance to meet a practitioner, you would immediately recognize from their behavior and bearing what Falun Gong is and what kind of people Falun Gong practitioners are. You would see immediately that Falun Gong is just the opposite of what the Chinese official media has portrayed.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a contemporary spiritual practice with ancient roots. Its founder is Mr. Li Hongzhi. The purpose of Falun Dafa is to teach people to be upright, decent and good. The effect of following its principles and teachings is that one becomes healthy and fit in body and mind. Tens of thousand of people have experienced its benefits. Just a few of those who have benefited are the previously mentioned Mr. Sheng Lijian, Ms. Xie Xiufen and Mr. Chen Ruqing.

Ever since ancient times, the human desire for purity and goodness transcends the boundaries of ethnicity, locality and cultures. It is one of most ancient desires of the human race. Regrettably, in modern times, more and more people are forgetting this, as people's moral standard is declining daily. The older, higher standards have been replaced with the pursuit of wealth, power and comfort. People will seek self-interest by any means. Today, we see the phenomenon where the title of "an upright person," that used to command respect, is carrying less and less weight. In many people's minds, a truly good person is almost equivalent to a fool or a stupid person. During this time in history, Mr. Li Hongzhi teaches Falun Gong to the world's people. A clear voice in a chaotic world, it awakens the desire for goodness in the hearts of people. Falun Gong has brought pure goodness to humanity, and being a good person therefore becomes the standard for a practitioner of Falun Gong.

When Mr. Li first brought out Falun Gong, the circumstances were extremely difficult. The first time he and a few of his students arrived in Beijing, they were unknown, just strangers in the crowd. They spent the first few nights at the crowded Beijing Train Station. They took their meals there and slept on the benches at night.

Mr. Li did not pursue fame or profit when teaching Falun Gong. According to people who attended his lectures, in comparison with other qigong seminars, the admission fee to Mr. Li's lectures was the lowest in the entire country. Mr. Li only charged 40 yuan (1) for a ten-day lecture series, and veteran students even got a 50 percent discount. The cost was only one half or one third of other qigong classes. Because the admission fee was so low, in contrast to other qigong classes, many qigong masters became rather upset. Because of that, the Chinese Qigong Scientific Research Board requested Mr. Li to raise the fee on many occasions, but Mr. Li refused out of concern for students' financial situations.

Although Mr. Li spends little on himself, he is very generous towards those who bring honor and justice to the world. On December 27, 1993, Mr. Li gave a speech at the Oriental Health Expo. The total income from that event, 4,000 yuan, was donated to the China Valor Foundation. On May 14 and 15 of 1994, Mr. Li was invited to give two speeches for the China Valor Foundation at the auditorium of the Beijing Police Academy. The money from the events, close to 60,000 yuan, was donated to the China Valor Foundation. In addition, he also donated 1,000 copies of his book, China Falun Gong (now re-titled Falun Gong) to many libraries on behalf of the foundation. The total worth was 6,600 yuan. On August 27, 1994, Mr. Li gave a lecture series in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province. The entire income from that event, 7,000 yuan, was donated to the local Red Cross.

There was a practitioner from Beijing who had traveled over ten thousand miles and attended over twenty lecture series in China, following Li Hongzhi. On recalling those times, she said, "I believed that since life is short and a person's experiences are limited. I thought that it would be impossible to try to verify or experience everything by oneself. Thus, I decided that I needed to closely observe Teacher, for if he is trustworthy, the things that he talked about must be truthful. I began to observe Teacher, including his every expression, smile, and every little act. One day after a lecture, during the twelfth class in Beijing, I took the subway home. As I waited for the train at the Wukesong Station, I saw Teacher, accompanied by his family members and another practitioner. They were carrying their lunch boxes. After the train stopped, people began to push towards the door, shoving each other. However, Teacher was in no hurry. He let others go ahead and was nearly the last one to get on. I noticed that by the time he got on the train, there were only one or two seats left. Teacher could have gotten a seat if he had hurried a little bit. But he just stayed there, and it seemed as though he didn't even notice the situation. Within a few seconds, all people had sat down, with no seats left. In the end, he was probably the only one on the train who was standing. I was deeply touched. I felt that he was so different from us, and I wondered how he handled things in this world. I finally came up with an answer, which is that he is simply 'righteous.'"

Since the day that Falun Gong has been taught in public, all genuine practitioners, regardless of age, nationality, or ethnic group have experienced remarkable changes, physically and spiritually. They follow high ethics, willingly help others, are diligent and responsible workers, and respect the elderly, as well as care for children at home. Their healthy bodies, pure hearts, and kind words and behavior display the beauty that Falun Dafa has brought to society. It has begun to rectify social and civil behavior and helped raise the moral standards of society.

A famous singer, Mr. Guan Guimin, said, "In 1983, I was diagnosed with early stage liver cirrhosis. I took medication and stayed in the hospital, but was not cured. Later I tried qigong, but I was not completely successful. After practicing different qigong schools for a while, I felt that I had reached a dead end. I was looking anxiously for a better practice. That's how I found Falun Gong. In the past, being healthy in both mind and body was only an elusive dream for me; I did not know what it truly meant. But now, through practicing Falun Gong, I have experienced it myself."

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Nie Shuwen told others, "My illnesses affected every internal organ of my body, except my heart. I practiced tai chi for 20 years and it did not get rid of my illnesses. But after two years of practicing Falun Gong, all my illnesses disappeared ..."

A Falun Gong practitioner from Changchun City described her changes, "In the past, I always looked for how others had mistreated me. After I started practicing Falun Dafa, I realized that my thinking had changed and I thought like other practitioners. I now look within to find if I had mistreated others ..."

Another practitioner from China said, "It is easy to have the attachment to fame and self-interests. Therefore, when a promotion at work comes up, people will fight and compete for it. Since I studied this book (Zhuan Falun), I am seeing these things as less important."

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Feng Lili, a Chinese-American scientist, said to a reporter, "Since the world has become this chaotic, there is a need for a group of courageous people to stand up and say: I have a responsibility. So who is this group of people? I can tell you that Falun Dafa has made me become one of them. I have a responsibility; I can change for the better. I believe that once I become better, I can help change those around me and help them become better, then the world will become better."

There are so many stories to tell. The story of "sharing water" from the mountain region of Hunan Province also tells of how Falun Dafa changed people. In this story there are two villages, Nanbian and Shuizhuang, sharing the same water canal. Because of the limited water resource, Nanbian Village, which is located upstream, had always monopolized the water, especially when needed during the summer dry seasons for their rice fields, for 20 years. In July 1995, Falun Gong spread to Nanbian Village. All 176 villagers practiced Falun Gong and their moral standard had quickly changed. Everyone started to treat others with kindness. Instead of fighting for water, they shared the water with Shuizhuang Village. The two villages have since eliminated their rivalry and live in peace and harmony.

In the early summer of 1998, China had a big flood. During that time, the TV station in Wuhan City frequently broadcast news about donations from businesses and individuals from all around the country. There were stories about donations from Falun Gong practitioners almost daily. At one of the flood-fighting sites, there were over a dozen people working from early morning to late evening. They did not seem to tire. A visiting official asked them about whom they worked for. They told him that they were volunteers. After a few more questions, it turned out they were all Falun Gong practitioners.

Canadian practitioner Zenon said, "I know Falun Gong is good because I have been practicing for three and a half years. Because of practicing Falun Gong I have been able to get over drinking, smoking, doing drugs and many other bad habits, all of which polluted my heart, mind and body. Just before I found Falun Gong I was going to leave my family, friends, and society, because I felt hopeless. I was going to go live in a mountain. Instead, I began to practice Falun Gong and have been able to transcend all my addictions and began removing all the bad things that filled my mind. Now, my mind is filled with the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance."

Another Falun Gong practitioner, Carlos, said, "I am healthier than ever before in my life. My outlook on life has changed. I gave up the mentality of competitiveness. I learned to look within and cultivate myself."

In December 1992, Mr. Li Hongzhi and some of his students attended the 1992 Oriental Health Expo in Beijing. Mr. Li received more awards at the expo than any other qigong master.

In December 1993, Mr. Li Hongzhi and some of his students attended the 1993 Oriental Health Expo in Beijing. Mr. Li was awarded the top prize of the Expo, "Greatest Contributor to the Progress Being Made in Cutting Edge Science." He also received the "Special Gold Prize" of the Expo and was named the "Most Popular Qigong Master."

On December 27, 1993, Mr. Li Hongzhi was awarded an Honors Proclamation by the Valor Foundation at the Public Security Ministry of China.

On August 3, 1994, The Houston City Government in Houston, Texas, United States, issued a proclamation , which honored Mr. Li Hongzhi as the "Honorary Citizen of Houston," and as "Goodwill Ambassador."

On October 12, 1996, the mayor of Houston proclaimed that day as "Li Hongzhi Day" in Houston.

Since 1996, Mr. Li Hongzhi and Falun Dafa have received over a thousand proclamations and awards from around the world, because of its positive effects on people's health and mind. The number of proclamations and letters of gratitude to Falun Gong and its founder from governments, congressmen and various organizations have reached 1,223; countries where Mr. Li and Falun Dafa have been honored include the United States, Canada, Australia, Taiwan, China, many European countries, New Zealand, Japan, Indonesia and Peru.

As the Mayor of Houston said when he proclaimed Li Hongzhi Day, "Falun Dafa transcends cultural and racial boundaries. It resonates the universal truth to every corner of the earth and bridges the gap between East and West. Li Hongzhi has worked tirelessly to convey Falun Dafa from China to the rest of the world. Along the way, he has touched the lives of countless people in many countries, earning an international reputation."

(Clearwisdom.net) Many Falun Gong practitioners in Taiwan practice the exercises in parks and schools early every morning. Their minds and spirits are quiet and comfortable, their demeanor calm and peaceful. Many practitioners benefit from practicing Falun Gong, so they do the exercises everyday. They are also members of society from different walks of life, including scholars, farmers, workers, businessmen, doctors, attorneys, teachers, officials, students, police, housewives, and so on. Falun Gong requires practitioners to be good people in any environment, and it asks practitioners to do a good job at work and to always strive to improve themselves. Many practitioners, whether in their family, at work, or in society, are highly respected by those around them. Their good deeds and conduct are evident in many places in Taiwan, and these practitioners have become a stabilizing force in the society. Out of many possible examples, three practitioners from Taipei, Kaohsiung and Hualian are profiled below.

Huang Li-hwi is the Vice-Group Leader of "The Multilateral Trade Group" at the International Trade Bureau in Taiwan's Department of Economics. She was inspired by an English teacher in her high school, but frequently pondered her direction in life to no avail. She always studied hard and graduated at the top of her class in her department as a university student. Only after she read Zhuan Falun did she suddenly find answers to her persistent, lifelong questions and more clearly understand the purpose of life.

After she started practicing Falun Dafa in May 1999, she followed Master Li's teachings to always think of others first. Her calm and gentle disposition, her strong spirit, and her friendly and kind behavior made other people feel comfortable and at ease around her. Her family life is harmonious. She handles matters efficiently, and she is glad to help her colleagues and subordinates. Because she emphasizes cooperation and improving their work skills, her associates highly respect her.

The International Trade Bureau assigned her to several difficult and unrelated jobs that were not really in her area. Huang Li-hwi simply accepted the responsibility and completed them one by one. Since her work involves important matters relating to the country's economic policies, she frequently meets with senior officials. As a practitioner she is sincerely considerate of others, so for manageable projects she only reports to her superior for further instructions after careful consideration and planning. Only for really unfamiliar and hard-to-manage projects will she seek advice from her senior officer. This enabled them to work together harmoniously and productively.

In May 2003, Huang Li-hwi was recognized and honored as a Model Governmental Worker of the Year. This award, given to only 60 out of hundreds of thousands of government workers in Taiwan who have made special contributions to the country and the society each year, is the highest honor. Her colleagues and superiors were also gratified and agreed that she truly is a model worker. A section chief at the time, she has since been promoted to vice-group leader of "The Multilateral Trade Group."

Huang Jyh-peng, Chief of the International Trade Bureau, described this outstanding subordinate: "I do not know what it is about Falun Gong, but I believe in Huang Li-hwi. She can accomplish her job well, and so many people who believe in Falun Gong are so good. Falun Gong must be a good school of cultivation practice."

Chang Su-shing serves as the Director of Wufwu Junior High School in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. She said that she had all kinds of diseases before practicing Falun Gong and she had tried all kinds of folk remedies. She relied on many medicines and tonics just to survive. In July 2002, she started to practice Falun Dafa with her family. The practice enabled her to escape the regimen of medications and diet she had followed for many years, and she felt free and light without any disease. Originally her son suffered from tuberculosis, her daughter had allergies, and her husband had hypertension. They also have recovered without using medication after practicing Falun Gong.

Most importantly, she follows Master Li's teachings:

"If every one of us cultivates inward, if every one of us examines his own character for causes, if when we don't do well we look inside ourselves for the cause, and we try to do better next time, and if we think about other people first any time we do something, then the world will change for the better, morals will go back up, people's civility will improve, and crime will go down." (Zhuan Falun)

She found that her mind and spirit steadily stabilized day by day, she no longer said unpleasant words, she got rid of the habit of rushing through red traffic lights, and she got rid of her short temper. She learned more about how to maintain self-control and how to hold herself to a higher standard.

At that time Chang Su-shing was the director of the Educational Administration of Sheaukan Junior High School in Kaohsiung. Besides her concern for the students' academic achievements, she also hoped they would develop a noble and moral character. She often used opportunities to apply the Falun Dafa principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" in her teaching. She encourages students to tell the truth and to do things truthfully, to be kind to others and to consider other people first in everything, and to be tolerant and endure hardships. She taught and led the students by example. These principles are deeply planted in students' minds, and they do not say dirty words any more, nor do they dress up improperly any longer.

Chang Su-shing teaches students earnestly and tirelessly, and has been frequently recognized by educational units. She was awarded first place in a teacher evaluation among junior high schools at Kaohsiung. The Ministry of Education also acknowledged her because of her outstanding performance in researching and developing the nine-year curriculum. In September 2002, the Bureau of Education in Kaohsiung proclaimed Chang Su-shing as an "Extraordinary Teacher."

Chang Su-shing said that Falun Gong was introduced to the public in 1992 and that 100 million people were practicing Falun Gong in China within several years. Many people like her regained their healthy minds and bodies. In July 1999, out of envy and resentment, Jiang Zemin launched the brutal and bloody persecution of Falun Gong. Jiang's regime used one fourth of the country's financial resources to suppress and persecute Falun Gong and utilized the state-controlled media to constantly fabricate propaganda to incite the populace's hatred against Falun Gong. They have produced a huge series of lies to demonize Falun Gong. During the last five years, more than a thousand practitioners have died due to the persecution, hundreds of thousands of practitioners have been illegally imprisoned or sentenced, and many more practitioners were forced to leave home and become destitute to avoid arrest.

She said that after serving in the educational field for so many years, her most important accomplishment was to practice Falun Dafa. She sincerely hopes that people can understand the truth of this persecution and can rescue practitioners in China who are being persecuted and tortured. Chang Su-shing appeals to everybody to exercise their morality and conscience, and to bravely step forward together to bring to an end this brutal persecution.

Lee Min-yu is a teacher at MingYih Elementary School in Hualian County. Since her childhood, she has had many doubts in life and could not find the answers she was looking for, even after painstaking study. She was so feeble that doctors could not measure the pulses of her arteries. In 2001, she started practicing Falun Gong. After reading Zhuan Falun, she realized that the purpose of life is to return to one's origin and true self. In the last three years, she has not needed to use her health insurance card once. Her husband, relatives and friends complimented her on looking younger and younger.

Before, Lee Min-yu frequently was anxious, could not sleep, and could not eat. After practicing Falun Gong, her spirits are up, she is calm, and she now can effectively and in a nonstressful way complete her daily teaching. In front of her students, she is no longer a fearsome teacher who pushed relentlessly. In front of her son, she is no longer a severe and demanding mother. She is more at ease with and considerate of her parents-in-law. Her relationships with her colleagues have become more harmonious, as well.

Because both her body and mind have benefited from the practice, she always wants to recommend the goodness and wonder of Falun Dafa to her family members, colleagues, and students. She teaches her students in the classroom to have good intentions, to be polite, and to understand the principle of "doing good will accumulate virtue and doing evil will lose virtue." In the weekly group activities, she organized a Clearwisdom group to teach students Falun Gong's five sets of exercises and read and recite the poems in Hong Yin (a collection of Master Li's poems). She also uses stories and all sorts of events in daily life to help students understand the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance." Students are gradually changing for the better after listening to these principles.

In September 2003, Lee Min-yu was honored as an "Extraordinary Teacher" in Hualian County. This is a major annual event organized by the Bureau of Education to encourage teachers' professionalism. She was elected to receive this honor with the highest score of all the recommended teachers in the county. Each school could only recommend one or two teachers to participate in this evaluation.

In April 2004, Lee Min-yu led 363 students in the fourth grade to demonstrate the five sets of Falun Gong exercises at the school's annual games. The demonstration received warm applause and appreciation from the attending teachers, students, parents and guests. On the same day as the games, several other Falun Dafa activities were presented: the Falun Dafa Photo Exhibition, an exercise demonstration, videos of Falun Dafa around the world, a stage play entitled "Exposing the Staged Self-Immolation at Tiananmen," a "Bring Jiang Zemin to Justice around the World" display, and so on. She said that children in Taiwan can freely study and practice Falun Gong to obtain a healthy mind and body, but students in China will be compelled to leave school and be illegally imprisoned if they simply say the phrase "Falun Dafa is Good!" This sharp contrast is like the difference between night and day.

A CEO of a joint venture that employed tens of thousands of people has the proper understanding of Falun Dafa. Truth-clarification by practitioners in China as well as the real situation he had seen during trips overseas helped him to see the truth. Recently, he gave a speech in a meeting for over 300 mid-level managers in his company. When he talked about promoting work ethic, he said, "On this issue, I hope everyone will learn from Falun Dafa. We shall learn from the spirit of teamwork they exhibit. They are willing to sacrifice their lives for their beliefs." He then added, "I admire their Teacher very much."

There was a Falun Dafa practitioner whose husband used to be a manager in another company before it went bankrupt. A few days ago, he went to this joint venture to look for a job. He introduced himself and talked to the CEO about a job. The CEO hired him and requested to meet his wife. Upon finding out that this practitioner was both trustworthy and capable, he put her in charge of a special project.

A worker in Benxi City, Liaoning Province had his feet pinned beneath a steel trolley weighing 7-8 tons. He immediately cried out in pain. Then, suddenly, he thought of what a Falun Dafa practitioner told him, "Recite, Falun Dafa is good and Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance is good, and Falun Dafa will protect you." So he started to recite those words sincerely. As a result, when he pulled his feet out, they were miraculously intact. One foot was not even injured, and the other only had a little bleeding under the big toenail. He recovered fully in just a few days and returned to work quickly.

(First Written Experience Sharing for Falun Gong Practitioners in China)

(Clearwisdom.net) I began to learn Falun Dafa in 1999, when I was 21 years old. In the beginning I didn't understand how important it is to cherish the time and use it wisely; I didn't realize the importance of studying the Fa (1). As a matter of fact, it was as though I was in a state of limbo, and oftentimes I was unsure whether I should practice or not . After July 20, 1999, all the practitioners I knew went to Beijing to validate the Fa. I, However, remained hidden in my home. In December 2000, with the help of some of the other practitioners, I prepared to go to Beijing. My home phone was tapped, however, so my mother and I were forced to go to a brainwashing center. After I was there for three months, because of my mentality of fear and attachment to comfort, compounded by the fact that I didn't study the Fa well, I signed a "Guarantee Statement," and I tore up a Dafa book, as the police required.

After I went back home, I read Teacher's new articles, "Coercion Cannot Change People's Hearts" and "A Suggestion," and I knew I had done a bad thing. Then, when I read some articles published on the Clearwisdom website regarding the seriousness of writing the "Three Statements," I suddenly realized that I had been taken advantage of by the old forces because of my attachments. I cried and cried, but I knew it was no use just crying. I knew I needed to take action to make up for the losses I had brought to Dafa.

From that time on I went to a place some 30 kilometers away from the city to pick up truth-clarification materials and brought them home. I would then fold the materials before handing them out. Later, since there were no Falun Dafa materials sites (2) in the city, many practitioners could not get Teacher's new articles or Clearwisdom articles, so I became the contact person between the Dafa materials site and the practitioners in the city.

In December 2001, several practitioners from the materials site were arrested and sentenced to forced labor. On the third evening of the Chinese New Year, a practitioner called me and said that the practitioners who were arrested had confessed about the materials site, and also suggested that I go into hiding. I knew that if I left, it would affect the truth-clarification work in our area, furthermore my absence would be a source of great concern for my family. I told myself to stay calm. My heart pounded rapidly and I was filled with anxiety. Reciting the Fa made me feel a bit calmer, but when I stopped, the fear would resurface. It was as though there was nothing but fear; it seemed to fill this whole dimension. When it became unbearable I would again recite the Fa. I suffered this torment throughout an entire night that seemed to last forever. The next morning I went back to the materials site to investigate, only to find that it was all hearsay.

In 2002, the practitioner we relied on to download materials from the Internet was sentenced to 7 years in prison. All the practitioners in the city as well as the surrounding areas depended on this materials site to provide Teacher's new articles and truth-clarification materials. Without this practitioner we no longer had a source for Clearwisdom articles. Two practitioners came and asked me if I had any ideas. I knew another practitioner who was adept at browsing the Internet. I went to him and explained our dilemma. He thought about it for a while, and then he agreed to take the place of the practitioner who was arrested. I knew that in that moment he had passed the test of life and death. The pressure he endured was beyond the imagination of many of our practitioners. I vowed to myself that I would give my all to protect this practitioner. For the sake of saving the sentient beings and to safeguard other Falun Dafa practitioners, I alone was his contact to the materials site.

After the establishment of the "World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong," in order to expose the evil and the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners, many of us began to put our experiences in writing. Many times my eyes have welled up with tears when I read the articles written by fellow practitioners. I am a practitioner who once betrayed Teacher, yet Teacher is so merciful and has given me many opportunities to make amends. The practitioners trust me, and I have no excuse to not do things well!

One evening that winter, my aunt (a Dafa practitioner) called me outside and said, "The City Police Department knows very well who you are, and they are preparing to arrest you. So and so (another Dafa practitioner) told me about it. She said she went several times to investigate and assures me that the information is accurate. We have made all the necessary arrangements for you, now you must come with me!"

My heart raced when I heard this news, as I was caught so completely unprepared. I said, "Let me think about it." We walked slowly down a narrow lane as the frigid wind whistled. It was very dark and the dogs were barking. I looked at the sky and felt as though I was being crushed under a great weight. What should I do? We continued our walk and all of the sudden I remembered the article I had just read. The article was about how Dafa practitioners should totally negate the old forces' arrangements. I felt a stir in my heart as I realized that this was the answer. I knew that I had to walk the path arranged by Teacher. "I will not leave!" I said to my aunt with finality. The old forces wanted me to leave my home and wander about from place to place, but I wouldn't accept what they had arranged for me. The path arranged by our Teacher is the best. Not only is it in line with human society, it would allow me the best conditions to continue my work for the Fa-rectification and save my family from the fear and pain of losing me.

My aunt asked me again, "Are you sure that you won't leave? You must think twice. Leave now while you still have time."

"No. I am not leaving." I told her without any doubt.

Later, at home in my bed, I felt an immense pressure. I knew practitioners who were sentenced to forced labor camps, others who were illegally detained, some who were suffering from the cruelest of tortures, and one who almost lost his life. I wondered, "If I were arrested, could I really withstand the tribulation?" I knew I would not tell them about the practitioner who downloaded information from the Internet for us, and I most certainly would not talk about the materials site. I just could not calm down. Then I recalled what Teacher said in Zhuan Falun (3), "When it's difficult to endure, you can endure it. When it's impossible to do, you can do it." Gritting my teeth, I got up and knelt by the bed to ask Teacher for help. Then I held my copy of Zhuan Falun, wondering if I would have the opportunity to read it in the future, or was this possibly my last chance to read the book. It seemed as though every word in the book was engraved in my mind. I read and read and read. I was so regretful that I had not studied the Fa well in the past, when I'd had the chance. But the old forces didn't dare to persecute me. The reason is that I chose the path that Teacher arranged for me. The old forces' plan to make me flee and become homeless was a complete failure.

In the Spring of 2003, all the practitioners at our materials site were arrested. In order to find out who had supplied them with the Clearwisdom materials, the police cruelly tortured the practitioner who had done the editing. She was deprived of sleep for 7 days in a row, and the backs of her hands were charred from the electric shocks she endured. The tortures rendered her unable to walk by herself. Later she was sentenced to 8 years in jail. Other practitioners received sentences varying from 3 to 7 years. One or two practitioners were forced to confess, and they gave them some information about me, so the Head of the Political and Security Section of the police department led 8 policemen to come and arrest me. My mother, who is also a Dafa practitioner, sent forth righteous thoughts. Because I was not home they waited for me until noon, and then left.

When I returned to my home, mom told me that the police had just left. I hadn't intended to be so late coming home, but as I was returning, a practitioner stopped me to talk. Now I know it was Teacher protecting me. Mom said, "You should leave right now." I asked myself, wasn't this the evil trying to manipulate me again into leaving home and becoming a homeless fugitive? Because Teacher gave me time, I asked my mother to change her thinking, calm down and strengthen her righteous thoughts. I said to her, "I am not leaving. If I were to leave, wouldn't that be like giving myself away?" In the afternoon my mother told the practitioners who lived near by about the situation, and asked them to send forth righteous thoughts. In the evening two policemen from the local police station came. I did not greet them. (I now understand that I should clarify the truth to them and expose the evil.) The following morning the police took me away in a police car. Before I left I told my mother that I would certainly be back and I asked her not to worry. In the police car I remembered my vow not to betray the practitioners who worked on the Internet no matter what the police did to me. I also reminded myself about the vow I made before leaving home. I was certain that since I had been given time to leave the house but chose not to, I would surely be able to return home.

A practitioner had shared with me her experiences concerning how she passed the test. She was high on the national "Most Wanted" list. One day the police arrested her and several of them interrogated her, but she didn't say a word. She just sat there, continuously sending forth righteous thoughts. The policemen compared her with photos they carried with them for quite some time, but ultimately they couldn't identify her. The officers were silent for a long time, and then suddenly one of the policemen shouted her name to see if she would react. This practitioner, however, did not even blink her eyes, and had no expression whatsoever on her face. She looked at them with righteous thoughts. Finally the police officers decided that it wasn't her and let her go. From the time they arrested her until they let her go, the police never once touched her. This is just like what Teacher said, "...just by having your heart unaffected you will be able to handle all situations." ("Eliminate Your Last Attachment(s)," Essentials for Further Advancement II)

I got out of the police car calmly and unhurriedly, and faced their interrogation with ease. No matter what they asked me about Falun Dafa activities, I had only one answer for them, "I don't know." They looked at my facial expressions, watched my eye movements, and listened to the way I answered the questions. Finally they came to the conclusion that I was not the one they were looking for, so they just let me go home.

When I got home home, my aunt (also a Falun Dafa practitioner) said to me happily, "We were all so worried for you. Yesterday we informed all the practitioners we know, and we sent forth righteous thoughts all night. I am so glad that you are home." I was deeply moved and my eyes were brimming with tears. I was glad to be a particle of Dafa. Originally we were all strangers and it was Dafa that linked our hearts together.

Remembering the last few years, I know the reason I am able to walk my path smoothly to this day in such peril is not because I've cultivated well, since I know I've always had a lot of human attachments, including the attachment of fear and the attachment to comfort, but because I have chosen the path of cultivation arranged by Teacher. Therefore, even though I had attachments and loopholes, the evil didn't dare to persecute me. The other reason is that the practitioners in my area all treated me like one of their own family members. Some practitioners wanted to buy a motorbike for me so it wouldn't be so arduous traveling long distances, and others wanted to buy a cell phone for me to help me save time. Whenever practitioners saw my attachments or noticed something that I did not do well, they would kindly point it out to me. For my safety they made many suggestions. Some tried to tell me how I could do these things better from the human side and others told me from the perspective of Fa principles how I could keep righteous thoughts and righteous actions. I think both aspects are important, so I do my best to keep them in mind. Though I suffered some hardships and sometimes felt the pressure, the feeling I most often experienced was joy and happiness. I think it should be that way, because a life is born with the characteristics of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance," so to be responsible for the righteousness of the universe is the most joyful and happiest thing for the life. Seeing banners that I made fluttering in the trees, I honestly felt incredibly happy. I always require myself to keep a positive perspective in adverse conditions.

I still haven't done well in many areas. The time Teacher gives us to validate the Fa is limited, so I will seize the time and do well the three things our Teachers asks of us: study the Fa, send righteous thoughts, and clarify the truth. I will do my best to live up to the expectations of Teacher and fulfill the hopes and needs of sentient beings.

A great number of Falun Dafa practitioners who have access to the Internet read experience-sharing articles. Although I have read many articles, I always felt that there was nothing I could write about nor had I done anything of great importance. Then, when the big truth-clarification material site in our area stopped operating some time ago and was divided into countless smaller sites, practitioners from our local site suggested that I write down our experiences of running the truth-clarification-material site in our area over the past few years.

This truth-clarification material site of ours has been operating through thick and thin for more than three years. Over the past three years, I actually have had many insights, thoughts, and experiences and learned many lessons. Today I would like to share my little cultivation experience of downloading information from the Internet to make truth-clarification materials. Fellow practitioners, please kindly correct me if there is any shortcoming.

I have stepped forward to appeal against the persecution of Falun Dafa since 1999. I used to be responsible for delivering the truth-clarification materials. Because of my own loopholes, my home was ransacked in 2001. My husband and I left home to escape the persecution, and we came to the truth-clarification material site. There, both of us were responsible for making truth-clarification VCD's. Fellow practitioners sent the master VCD's over and we both edited the contents and checked to make sure that there were no errors. Then we mass-produced the VCD's. Not long after that, however, the practitioner in charge of the site was arrested. Because the material site was a big one, it was not a good idea for us to always go to other places to get the master copies, and doing so was an inconvenience to both parties. After deliberation, my husband took the initiative to take on the responsibility to access the Internet, download information, and compile small brochures.

I was responsible for making truth-clarification VCD's. Practitioners who have been involved in making VCD's know that the truth-clarification video files usually come in big files. In particular, the mpg format takes a long time to download. Failing to overcome my fear, I always waited for practitioners who lived very far away from me or who were very busy to deliver the master VCD's to me instead of downloading the files myself. Not only did I waste fellow practitioners' time, I also delayed the chance for people to understand the truth. During that period, my husband suggested many times that we download truth-clarification video files on our own so we could lessen fellow practitioners' burden and take on the work that we should have done on our own.

Through studying the Fa and constantly understanding and improving from Fa-principles, I heard Teacher's words in my ear:

"So in clarifying the truth, don't wait, don't rely on others, and don't just hope for changes in external factors. Every one of us is creating history for the future, that's why everyone is not only participating in group activities, but also taking the initiative to look for things to do." ("To All Students at the Nordic Fa Conference")

In the evening after reading one chapter of Zhuan Falun (1), I turned on my computer and logged on to visit the FGMTV website. Because I accessed the Internet via a telephone line, the downloading speed was very slow. I remember clearly the first time I did it: I sat before my computer to watch the download process; time passed little by little. Yet, I did not feel scared at all. The download process took more than two hours. Then I converted the file to another format. After four hours, I cannot describe how pleased I was when I sat in front of the TV and watched the video program that I myself had just created. It was the kind of pleasure I got after overcoming my fear and elevating my realm, and it was beyond description. This experience of downloading truth-clarification video files enabled me to understand more of the Fa-principles. Teacher simply wants us to cultivate Buddhahood and cultivate our mind diligently. As long as we break through our own restriction, everything will be the best for us.

From that point on, my husband and I were responsible for accessing the Internet and downloading information. After a truth-clarification video file was downloaded, I was responsible for editing the master VCD. My husband was responsible for making VCD labels. Everyday, after we finished practicing the five exercises very early in the morning, we studied two or three chapters of Zhuan Falun together. Then we started to work. Together we strived forward diligently on the cultivation path. Little by little, we made breakthroughs in the amount of time accessing the Internet. At the beginning when we logged on to access the Internet, we would be very nervous if someone came to our home. If we were logged on to the Internet too long, we would be reminded to log off as soon as possible. We always thought that it was not safe to access the Internet for a long period of time. Ever since we made a breakthrough by staying logged in for two hours, we no longer had that kind of fear. During that period, there were more truth-clarification video files on the FGMTV website, so I had to do the downloading everyday. The downloading time went from two hours to three hours, to four hours. It kept increasing, and, eventually, we logged on to the Internet via a telephone line from morning until 11 p.m. at night. I downloaded all the truth-clarification video files from the FGMTV website so that I could make different truth-clarification programs for different people. The truth-clarification video material in our area was indeed very rich and abundant.

One day I spent more than five hours downloading a truth-clarification video file. When it was about 99% complete, the dialog box for the download data disappeared. Without thinking too much about it, I downloaded the file again and instantly wasted over five hours of effort. I was very upset at the time and was not in the mood to work. So I turned to read the book. At that time, I knew that it was interference, yet I did not think deeply about it.

A few days later I again logged on to the Internet to download files. The download speed was slow or something else would be wrong. It was not until then that I took it seriously. I calmed my mind to look for the cause. I reflected on what had happened recently. Because there were many kinds of different truth-clarification video files, I got carried away and tried to compare and compete with other areas. Looking inside myself, my mentality was no longer pure and clean. Can I work under such conditions without being interfered with? Teacher says:

"Do you realize that as long as you're a cultivator, in any environment or under any circumstances, I will use any troubles or unpleasant things you come across--even if they involve work for Dafa, or no matter how good or sacred you think they are--to eliminate your attachments and expose your demon-nature so that it can be eliminated, for your improvement is what's most important. If you are able to succeed in improving yourself this way, what you do then, with a pure heart, will be the best and most sacred."

By looking inside myself, By looking inside myself, I realized that cultivation is like downloading a truth-clarification file. With 99% of a file-download and only a little bit more to completion, this file is still incomplete and cannot be viewed. The same is true for cultivation. It does not matter how many years you have cultivated. Even if you are only a small distance from completion, if you don't strive forward diligently, if you let up on yourself, you could ruin yourself in one day. Through this experience, I understood from Fa-principles the seriousness of cultivation. I should not let up on my cultivation. I should hold myself to strict standards and follow Teacher's requirements until I reach consummation in my cultivation.

What guarantees safe access of the Internet for long periods of time? It depends on righteous thoughts and righteous faith in Teacher, Falun Dafa, and also on cultivating ourselves well. Our accessing the Internet will not be changed by any external factor. Teacher said:

"Wherever we practice Falun Gong will become a good place. We're remaking the environment, not selecting the environment."

I have been interfered with while downloading files from the Internet. Although I was attacked, I did not feel scared. Meanwhile, I also discovered my bad thoughts and the mentality of accomplishing a task. Through this incident, I realized again that, no matter what interference I encounter, if I just search within myself, sure enough, I can find some bad thoughts or the old forces would not have dared to cause damage. I also have read in experience-sharing articles that staying logged on to the Internet too long was not safe. The safety of Internet access is not based on the amount of time you stay logged on. It lies in our mentality in handling the work. If we understand the Fa from the Fa and everything we do is in line with the Fa, then it doesn't matter if we use a telephone line or a cell phone to access the Internet. It doesn't matter if we spend a long time or a short time accessing the Internet. In our mind, we will no longer have the notion of worrying about being unsafe.

From the First Falun Dafa Written Experience Sharing Conference in China

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a retired teacher. I began to practice Falun Dafa in July 1996. In April, before I started practicing, I suffered diabetes, with four "+" for my urine sugar level. My weight dropped from 159 pounds to about 133 pounds.

At that time, after being introduced to Falun Dafa, I began the path of cultivation. Through studying the teachings, I gradually came to understand Fa principles, and realized that the fundamental cause of one's being ill is karma, and in order to cure illness, first people must cultivate their xinxing (mind nature, moral character). Teacher said in Zhuan Falun,

"Throughout history, the issue of whether matter determines mind or vice versa has been constantly discussed and debated in the world of philosophy. In fact, let me tell everyone that matter and mind are one thing."

I thought that the transformation of mind and the improvement of xinxing would lead to recovery from illness. By practicing Falun Gong, all of my illnesses have disappeared. Since that time, I haven't had any illness and have been very healthy. I am now determined in cultivating Dafa more than ever.

Before the persecution, I was the Dafa teaching assistant in our village. Whenever there were activities for promoting Dafa on a day off, I would attend them. I constantly followed the principles of Dafa and regarded myself as a cultivator. I urged myself to rectify all my thoughts and ideas, as well as words and actions. I tried to help people see how great Dafa was through my words and actions.

On July 20, 1999, the order to persecute Falun Gong spread to every township and village. That very night I went to Harbin to appeal to the provincial government. The year 2000 was the most rampant period of persecution. On December 14, I was arrested because I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. In a police station around Tiananmen Square I was detained for ten hours and then sent to Xuanwu District Detention Center of Beijing. During the first half of the night I was interrogated four times. I refused to cooperate by not revealing my name or address. In the end I was able to return back to Shuangcheng.

During this period, I personally witnessed the police's shameless conduct. They took me to the prison cell for criminals, and said, "If you don't tell us your name and address, we'll put you in here and let them punish you." They interrogated me until midnight and still couldn't figure out my name. I was called No. B5 while in detention. They searched my body and confiscated all of my possessions. However, I was unmoved. I looked around, and saw one person squatting in front of some shoes. He was lifting up the soles and cutting them open. Judging by a small pile of money to the side, he was going through people's shoes to try to find hidden money.

Facing all of this, I had no fear. I had only the Fa in my heart. Before they put me in detention, the prison doctor checked my health. Unexpectedly the result was that I had high blood pressure and heart arrhythmia (at that time I realized that Teacher was using these symptoms to help me get out). Therefore, after the police discussed the situation, I was immediately released. I returned to Shuangcheng with my head shaved and my hands holding up my pants since they had taken everything from me. Recalling that experience brings me to tears. I realized that I had been able to step out of my human limitations and understood Teacher's compassion.

After I returned, I became firmer on the path of Fa-rectification. No matter how dangerous the environment was, in order to save more people, I distributed Dafa truth-clarifying materials, displayed a Dafa banner and clarified the truth to people. Regardless of wind, rain, heat or cold, I distributed Falun Dafa materials, because the most important thing at present is to clarify the truth to people.

In August 2004, my wife's uncle suffered from rectal cancer. He lives in Harbin City. He is a Party member and was a veteran cadre dating back to before the founding of the state. His illness reached an advanced stage, and he also suffered lung disease. In the hospital he relied on oxygen tanks for breathing and narcotics for relieving pain. He opposed my practice of Falun Gong. He cursed me and said that I was against the Party. I went to visit him in order to change his mind and let him know that Falun Dafa is actually a really good practice. At that time he said, "I will read the book. The Buddha knows my heart!" He really did as he said. As a result, he stopped using oxygen tanks and narcotics after half a month, and he could eat and easily relieve himself. In 30 days he left the hospital and returned home. The whole family and doctors were amazed and marveled at the miracle of Dafa.

Teacher recently published several scriptures in succession. We practitioners know very well that we are pressed for time and that our responsibilities are great. The two main methods that we have taken are clarifying the truth to relatives and neighbors, and secondly with three people as a group, clarifying the truth household by household. Local practitioners often share experiences. With the first method, we have almost clarified the truth to all our families. Through clarifying the truth, most practitioners who gave up the practice after July 20, 1999 returned to cultivation, and also new practitioners have been coming. There were 7 veteran practitioners before, but now there are over 30 practitioners. The exercise site has basically returned to normal. Most people in the village know the truth about Falun Gong. During this most critical period in history, we should increase our truth clarification efforts and be more diligent!

(Clearwisdom.net) This is an eyewitness account by a detainee in the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp Hospital. She witnessed the persecution of practitioners Ms. Liu Limei, Ms. Fu Guilan, and Ms. Wu Yajie from Yilan County between 2002 and 2004. During their imprisonment in the labor camp, this detainee witnessed the miracle of Falun Dafa and the practitioners' steadfast faith and determination to validate and safeguard the Fa with their lives. As a result, this eyewitness embarked on the path of Faun Dafa cultivation and became a determined practitioner. The following is an account of what she witnessed:

In early 2003, the police in the Dongli District arrested Ms. Liu Limei, a practitioner from the Xiangfang District of Harbin City. They detained her at the No. 1 Detention Center, where she endured severe persecution. She showed signs of advanced tuberculosis and was in critical condition. But the local "610 Office" and other government agencies did not let release her, and on July 17 she was transferred to the Wanjia Labor Camp Hospital for further persecution even though, according to camp regulations, she was too ill for the labor camp hospital.

As soon as Ms. Liu Limei was admitted to the hospital, Liu Yaqin, the police captain, immediately segregated her from other practitioners. But Ms. Liu Limei was undaunted. She continued to send forth righteous thoughts, clarify the truth, and do everything a practitioner in Fa-rectification is supposed to do.

On July 18, 2003, Officer Liu Yaqin came to Liu Limei's room and asked to see the indictment, because she wanted to know the details of the prosecution. Ms. Liu Limei told Officer Liu, "The indictment is all lies and fabricated charges. It would not do you any good to read it." She then carefully explained to her why the suppression of Falun Gong was wrong, why all the excuses for the persecution were lies, and reminded her not to ruin her own future by persecuting practitioners.

Officer Liu did not want to listen and yelled at her, "Why are you telling me all this? Just give me the indictment!" She then left angrily.

A patient in the room commented, "You see, the practitioner is in critical condition. She's too ill to look after herself. She does not even have the strength to turn herself in bed, yet she is so kind in clarifying the truth to the police."

"Please don't believe the lies and slander on TV. They just want to find excuses to eradicate Falun Gong. But Falun Gong has now spread to over sixty countries," Ms. Liu Limei said to the patient in the room.

Ms. Liu was forced to put up with whatever treatments the hospital gave her and endured them. Later she developed allergic reactions.

On the afternoon of August 1, 2003, Liu Limei's husband came to visit her. No longer able to get out of bed, Ms. Liu had to receive her husband in bed. It was a touching scene, and everyone in the room was in tears - a loving couple who could not be together because of the persecution.

On August 5, Ms. Liu passed blood in her stool, and she was swollen all over. Her condition was precarious. On August 7, the personnel in charge of the clinic and the person handling her case came to her room to examine her, but did not propose any new treatment or release her.

On August 9, Wanjia Labor Camp Hospital notified Ms. Liu's family that she was dying. At 10 a.m., Ms. Liu's family members came to the hospital to see her. While they were visiting with Liu, a police officer took Liu's 12-year-old daughter to another room. The officer tried to intimidate her in an attempt to force her to write the "three-statements." The officer lied to her, saying that her mother would be released if she wrote the "three statements" to give up Falun Gong. The child did not fall for the deception.

At 6:30 a.m. on August 12, 2003, practitioner Ms. Liu Limei died at the age of 41.

On her way to visit her grandchild with her husband in May 2002, Fu Guilan, a practitioner from Harbin City, was abducted near her residence. The authorities then imprisoned her in the Harbin City's No. 2 Detention Center, but her husband's whereabouts were not known.

Soon after she was detained, Ms. Fu Guilan went on a hunger strike to protest her unlawful imprisonment. She did not stop clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa and the persecution. "Falun Dafa is good! Falun Dafa is righteous! Falun Dafa is unjustly persecuted," she called out loudly.

Under the brutal persecution, Ms. Fu's health quickly deteriorated. She became critically ill and was transferred to the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp Hospital on September 20, 2002.

The hospital's environment was extremely bad. Police officer Liu Yaqin frequently swore at practitioners, "Why aren't you dead yet?" They didn't allow practitioners to move around or talk. Practitioners were not provided with any water to drink. They could only go to the restroom at specified times. The authorities attempted to force practitioners to give up their practice of Falun Gong. Whoever did not acquiesce would be brutally tortured.

Having been on a hunger strike for over three months in the detention center, Ms. Fu Guilan was extremely weak, and therefore did not meet the criteria for admittance to the labor camp hospital, which is more for persecution than treatment, but she was hospitalized anyway.

During her stay in the labor camp hospital, Ms. Fu had to endure three forced feedings a day, intravenous injections, and verbal abuse from the police. One day officer Zhang Menghua was assigned to insert an intravenous drip in Ms. Fu. She could not find a vein, so she haphazardly stabbed at her arms, the backs of her hands and even her feet..

Ms. Fu did not surrender to the torture. Everyday she persisted in reciting Master Li's teachings, sending forth righteous thoughts, and clarifying the facts.

Ms. Fu became weaker and weaker as the torture wore on. Many days of forced feedings exhausted her and death was imminent. One day in November, she passed out.

The policemen still did not leave her alone. They continued to give her injections. Her arms and hands were covered with bruises. After almost an hour of torture, she finally regained consciousness.

On about December 20, 2002, Fu developed a high fever. The prison doctor examined her and found that she had a fever of 39.2 Celsius (102.6 Fahrenheit). Watching the prison doctors force-feed practitioners, officials from the city's "610 Office" cruelly told Ms. Fu, "You look fine. Your face is nice and pink, so don't try to feign death!"

A few days later, on December 29, 2002, Ms. Fu Guilan died from the relentless torture.

Practitioner Wu Yajie from Yilan County was illegally sentenced to three years of labor re-education and imprisoned in the Seventh Brigade in Wanjia Forced Labor Camp to be "transformed." Ms. Wu went on a hunger strike in protest and was dispatched to the labor camp hospital. Failing to force Ms. Wu to eat, the prison police put her in an "Iron Chair"(1) and tortured her until she passed out.

After they released her from the "Iron Chair," Ms. Wu again did not succumb to their forced feeding. So the officers tied her up on a bed and gave her a beating. Her face was bruised and swollen.

Not only did she not succumb to the torture, she kindly clarified the facts to the officers every time they tortured her.

On October 18, 2002, Ms. Wu was in critical condition. On October 25, the Yilan County's "610 Office" and her employer came to take her back. I have not heard about her since, and I don't even know if she is dead or alive.

(1) "Iron Chair": Practitioners on the "Iron Chair" have their hands handcuffed to the back of the chair and their legs and feet handcuffed in place. The practitioner cannot move. Meanwhile the prison guards will continue to beat and abuse the practitioner, clutching at sensitive body parts such as the inner thigh and the breast.

(Clearwisdom.net) Ever since May 7, 2004 when severe and continued electric shocking with batons disfigured Gao Rongrong, the departments concerned with her case have not made any comments. Her family members appealed according to the law, but the only reply they got was that her case had been taken over by the "special cases team." Her medical test results are not on file in the province and the case is now in the hands of the Central Government's "610 Office."

While Gao Rongrong was being treated at the No. 1 Hospital Affiliated with the Medical University, she was subjected to constant harassment by personnel from the Longshan Forced Labor Camp and the Shenyang City Judicial Bureau. The Longshan Forced Labor Camp police surrounded her all day long and often deliberately provoked her family members. Police officers slept on the sofa in the ward day and night. Two of the policemen Zeng Xiaoping and Wang Jichang, who participated in tormenting and abusing Gao Rongrong, were assigned to guard her in the hospital. On July 2, three people from Shenyang City's Political and Judiciary Committee even tried to pick off the dark scabs on her face, right in front of her family members.

The following is Gao Rongrong's account of how her family members were stonewalled in their appeals process after she was disfigured by electric shocking. It is also an account of the continued torment she suffered at the hands of the police while being treated in the hospital.

Shenyang City's Longshan Forced Labor Camp did not inform my family and tried to cover up the facts of what had happened to me. When my family eventually got to know the facts, they demanded that the head of the labor camp Li Fengshi and other authority figures responsible for what happened deal with this case justly. But Li Fengshi put it off again and again, and did not reply to my family's questions for a whole month. Meanwhile, the camp people told lies to the public and reported to the Shenyang City Judicial Bureau that my facial injuries were caused by "a fall."

My family members appealed to the highest-placed department of the Longshan Forced Labor Camp and to Shenyang City's Judicial Bureau and demanded to have my injuries examined, to hold perpetrator Tang Yubao responsible, and to release me from the labor camp and compensate me for my injuries.

Shenyang City Judicial Bureau personnel did not make arrangements for any examination of my injuries, saying that they were investigating the case. They never came to talk to me, the victim of the case, for five months, while they were supposedly investigating the case. Instead, they exerted pressure on the medical staff that was treating my injuries through the hospital's Party committee. In fact, they continued to torment and abuse me while I was undergoing medical treatment, saying that they would never release me, even if I died.

In light of the fact that Shenyang City's Judicial Bureau was protecting the labor camp, my family members turned to appeal to Shenyang City's Prosecutor.

After pressuring them again and again, on July 1, 2004 prosecutor Liu Haibo and three other staff members from Shenyang City's Prosecuting Bureau and from Shenyang's Suburban Prosecuting Bureau came to the hospital to verify the appeal. They took notes and took photos of me.

On July 8, Shenyang City's Prosecutor asked the legal medical expert from the Prosecuting Bureau for Liaoning Province to examine my injuries and to take photos. The Prosecuting Bureau personnel were shocked to see my disfigured face.

It should have taken only one or two weeks for them to come up with a decision after the examination had revealed the cause of the injuries. However, they did not give us any information after stalling for a long time. When my family asked them again, the authorities in Shenyang City's Prosecuting Bureau told us that people from the Shenyang City Party Committee and the Shenyang City Political and Judicial Committee had formed a "special cases team" and as a result, Shenyang City's Prosecuting Bureau had no more interest in the case.

As early as July 1, when Shenyang City's Prosecuting Bureau personnel came to investigate the case, staff members Wang Hui and Liu Ge (both female) rushed to the hospital to find out what was happening. They came back to the ward again in the afternoon, telling me that someone had reported my case to them. They also took out my petition and photos of my facial injuries. I asked them, "Who reported this to you?" They did not answer and only said that they had to verify the report and take some notes. While taking notes, they showed no interest in the abuse and torment I suffered under this persecution, and they never asked if I had any requests. Instead, they asked me where the photos were taken, who took them, who took care of me every day, when my elder brother came back from Beijing, where he worked, and so on. (Note: Gao Rongrong's older brother works at the "Guangming Daily" in Beijing)

At 10:00 a.m. on July 2, Liu Ge accompanied Lu Jingchen (male), leader of the Shenyang City Political and Judicial Committee, and Wei Jun (male) from Shenyang City's "610 Office" came to my ward, saying that the authorities in the city took this case very seriously. At just past 2:00 p.m. that same day, Liu Ge, Wang Hui and a middle-aged man came to my ward again, saying that the man surnamed Li was the head of Shenyang City's Political and Judicial Committee. The man asked me if my facial injuries hurt. Then he pressed on the scabs on my face and quickly peeled off one of the scabs. The torn-off piece did not fall off because it stuck to the thin dressing. When my family members stopped them, they quickly left.

At around 7 or 8 p.m., Liu Ge, Wang Hui and two others came back again and tried to talk to my older sister and take notes. My sister refused. They were very unhappy and said that the "special cases team" was very busy and they were on a very tight schedule. My sister still refused their request. They left afterwards.

In August, when my life was in danger, my family members went to Shenyang City's Political and Judicial Committee and Shenyang City's "610 Office" to demand a decision. They were told, "It has nothing to do with us."

So, my family members continued to appeal to the provincial government. For the first time, the head of the Inspection Section for Liaoning Prisons showed some warmth and said, "There will be a meeting in the afternoon with people from the provincial government and we'll have a discussion about your case. You'll hear from us in two months time."

However, when my family members went to ask him again, he started to make excuses. When my family members asked for the results of the injury examination, he refused to give them, saying that the written results could not be given to family members and could only be told verbally. But when my family members asked him if the results showed that the injuries were caused by electric shocks, he wouldn't say anything. When my family members challenged him and asked if people in the Longshan Forced Labor Camp made false statements in their report to the Shenyang City Judicial Bureau, he admitted it was true!

A month later we got a reply. The case was now with the "special cases team." The results of the injury examination were no longer held in the province, and the case was under direct administration of the Central Government's "610 Office."

I have suffered so much, but the legal departments have done nothing. They stonewalled the legal procedures and stopped my case from being processed. Jiang Zemin caused all of this, as he is the prime culprit in the persecution of Falun Gong. He forced his will on and enticed those lawless people to carry out violence against Falun Gong practitioners. I am only one of the many thousands of Falun Gong practitioners who have suffered severe torment, abuse and torture under this persecution. Such crimes must not be allowed to continue! I will sue the Jiang faction and the "610" organization under his control for their persecution of "Truth-Compassion-Forbearance" and their unprecedented, cruel persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

During the five months of hospitalization, I was in poor physical and mental condition. I was first sent to the Shenyang General Army Hospital the evening of May 7, and the next day I was sent to Shenyang's Public Security Hospital. I was transferred to the No. 1 Hospital Affiliated with the Medical University on May 18. My life was in danger for a while due to all of the persecution I had suffered.

On May 7, 2004 when I was sent to a hospital, I was very weak and could not stand anything cold. I was wearing cotton-padded trousers and a thick jumper plus a down vest, while many other people were only wearing a couple of thin shirts. My blood pressure at the time dropped to 40. I had been running a low-grade fever for a long time. My internal organs were very weak and I had pain in my liver and stomach. I felt nauseous and could not eat anything. I was extremely thin and was put on a month-long antibiotic IV. The doctors decided to stop it only out of fear that my health might be in danger if they continued with it.

After June, they had to switch to an IV of medication that would "regulate the heart" and provide nutrients. In addition, I was put on oxygen from time to time. I was monitored all the time and was on a daily intravenous drip. My hands were full of needle marks and my veins became hard and painful. When the weather got hotter, extremely itchy rashes and blisters appeared on my skin. Furthermore, the negligence of the police made my urinary catheter malfunction and I had to hold my bladder for 21 hours. As result of this I started to have blood in my urine, which led to a kidney infection. I had to use the catheter for a month before it was removed.

Because my intestines and stomach had become very weak, out of concern for possible intestinal obstruction, and having been lying on my back for a long time, I could only eat a very small amount of food and became extremely fragile. Doctors from various departments came to have a group consultation regarding my condition. They did not even dare to carry out some of the tests because I was suffering from severe muscular atrophy. The doctor from the orthopaedics department said, "If we perform surgery, it would be difficult for her skin to heal, not to mention everything else."

Police from Longshan Forced Labor Camp surrounded me all day long. They were often very rude and unreasonable to my family members. Male policemen took turns sleeping on the sofa in my ward. Two of the policemen, Zeng Xiaoping and Wang Jichang, who participated in my abuse and torment, were assigned to watch me. One can imagine the mental pressure I was under.

Staff from Longshan Labor Camp and Shenyang City Judicial Bureau often came to harass us, and they either tried to force me to have an operation or watch me, and at the same time they tried to shift responsibility onto my family members. All of this aggravated my condition. They appeared to focus on the injuries on my face very much, hoping that the evidence of their crimes would disappear soon, which led to the incident on July 2 when the personnel from Shenyang City Political and Judicial Committee tried to peel off the dark scabs on my face.

On July 1, they came to ask me questions and to take notes for a whole day. I felt very weak and tired. On July 2, personnel from the departments in question came one after another to "verify" the facts. I was very upset. During the morning of July 3, my stomach became distended and very hard. I had sharp pains in my abdomen area for the whole morning.

On August 9, 2004, under enormous mental torment and physical pain, I had difficulty eating any food, and for a while I was urinating blood and my life was in danger. My family members went to Shenyang City's Judicial Bureau to request my release. They refused and as usual only observed my condition. On August 26, they even played out a farce, with the police from the Longshan Forced Labor Camp rushing into the ward (ward 533) to take photos and forcing me to undergo treatment. I went in and out of in a comatose state for nearly a month and suffered bladder incontinence. I could hardly move my body, and I was given life-sustaining nutrients intravenously. Now, those responsible were nowhere to be seen. My body showed symptoms similar to those that appeared in June.

A week before I managed to escape from the hospital, I was gradually able to eat something and had stopped the intravenous feeding. Since I was sent to the hospital and had become a bag of bones, weighing only around 30 kilograms, I was not able to sit up. My arms would shake if I raised them up and I had to relieve myself in bed. I would be out of breath when talking and was running a low-grade fever daily. I was unable to move my severely swollen left leg, which the doctor said was broken.

(Clearwisdom.net) I have known Wang Zideng for a long time. Several days ago I heard Wang Zideng was illegally arrested again.

Prior to 2000, Wang Zideng and his wife operated a small business at the Guansi Market in Laiwu City. Their daughter Wang Jing was in high school and their son Wang Xin was two years old in 2000. Wang Zideng and his family began practicing Falun Gong in 1994. He is kind and honest, and Mrs. Wang is very warm-hearted. Particularly after they learned Falun Gong, they conducted themselves according to Truth, Compassion, Tolerance.

One thing I remember most vividly took place back in 1998. A customer left a brown bag on Wang Zideng's stand. When Wang Zideng saw the bag, the man had already left. Wang Zideng put it away to prevent it from being taken by thieves. Soon, the man returned, extremely upset. He told Wang Zideng the items in the bag would determine the fate of a factory. He described the appearance and color of the bag, and seeing he gave the right description, Wang Zideng took out the bag and asked if it's the correct one. The man was pleasantly surprised! Wang Zideng then asked him the content of the bag and the man said, "Over 200,000 Yuan in cash, over 100,000 Yuan in receipts and one cell phone." Wang Zideng opened the bag in front of the man and checked the amount of money inside. It was the correct amount, so he gave it to the man.

The man was so happy and excited that his bag was unconditionally returned to him, he took out two stacks of cash and said, "My dear friend: you just have to take this money. If this bag had fallen into the hands of any other person, there is no chance I would get it back. I never imagined there are good people like you in this world! If I had lost something else, maybe I would get it back, but all this bag contained was cash!" Wang Zideng kindly said, "I just did what I was supposed to do. I can't take your money." The man tried to give him money but Wang Zideng firmly refused to take it. Other customers and vendors said, "I can't believe there are good people like this in the world!"

Wang Zideng not only treated his customers with honesty, he was the same with other vendors and business competitors. He conducted himself according to Truth, Compassion, Tolerance and mediated many conflicts. Private business owners must pay an annual 3,000 Yuan taxes and 1,700 Yuan administration fee. Wang Zideng was always among the first ones to pay taxes. The Wang family were known as law-abiding citizens. The officials from the tax bureau said, "You are such good people. Even if we closed the market, we won't ban you!"

After Jiang's group began persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Wang Zideng and his family suffered numerous unjust acts against them. First he was forced to close his business, and in late 2000 he was compelled to leave home. His daughter was illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor in April 2001 when she turned 16 years old. She was sent to the Jiangshuiquan Women's Forced Labor Camp in Jinan City. Wang Zideng's sister Wang Hui and brother-in-law Yin Yuxin were sentenced to three years of forced labor. Wang Shujie, Mr. Wang's niece, died at age four as a result of the family being repeatedly harassed and frightened by police during the persecution.

After July 20, 1999, Su Guojian, a person named Laiwu, the then-deputy head of the Guansi Police Station in the Laicheng District, along with policemen Tian Yugang and Bi Yusi, pressured the Commerce and Industry Bureau to throw Wang Zideng out of the market. When Wang Zideng went to the CIB to pay taxes in late 2000, the head of CIB said to him, "I know you are a good person and that you will not write a Guarantee Statement to give up Falun Gong, but I'll still let you keep your spot in the market as long as you change your name." Wang Zideng thought not renting a market spot to Dafa practitioners is discrimination and persecution. He thought Dafa practitioners must live an open and dignified life and should not change their names, wherever they are. As a result, Wang Zideng was removed from the market around November 2000.

The first arrest took place on the second birthday of Wang Zideng's son Wang Xin. On July 19, 2000, Wang Zideng's family gathered around to celebrate the little boy's birthday. Wang Zideng's sister-in-law Han Xiuli, who was not a Falun Gong practitioner at the time, was also present with her two-years-and-four-months-old daughter Wang Shujie. Suddenly, police officers Tian Yugang, Shao Liyong and others from the Guansi Police Station blocked Wang Zideng's door and tried to open it with a master key, but when they couldn't open the door with the key, they broke the door down. A dozen police officers rushed inside, while another dozen waited downstairs.

Four of five officers pushed Wang Zideng to the ground. Some stepped on his head and some on his feet, while others put handcuffs on him. They took him to the police station and then to a detention center, in violation of Chinese laws. They also sent Wang Zideng's wife and other family members and relatives to a detention center. The two young children were taken to the police station. Han Xiuli was released because she was not practicing Falun Gong. Her daughter was so frightened that she could not even cry.

Wang Zideng and his wife left the detention center with the power of their righteous thoughts, and then they went into exile.

When Wang Zideng returned home on December 3, 2000, the police blocked his door. Although he and his wife escaped, his brother Wang Zike, his wife and their daughter Wang Shujie were taken to the police station.

Four-year-old girl, Wang Shujie, who died as a result of the persecution

The officers at the police station pounded on the table and cursed and shouted. The small girl, Wang Shujie, passed out for over half an hour. When she came to, she could not eat and would be frightened when hearing the slightest noise. She grew thinner by the day. In late 2001, Wang Zike and his wife took little Wang Shujie to major hospitals in Tai'an City and Jinan City. Wang Shujie never recovered and passed away around August or September 2002. When she died, she was 85 cm tall, the same height she attended Wang Xin's birthday on July 19, 2000. She had not grown at all during those two years. Another person abducted at the same time was fifteen-year-old Wang Jing. She was sleeping in her room at the time and was awakened by the perpetrators in the living room. When the perpetrators realized there was someone in the bedroom, they barged in and carried her downstairs in her underwear. They even flipped up her sweatshirt until her mother stopped them. Wang Jing escaped along with her mother seven days later.

In March 2001, Wang Jing went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa and was arrested. On March 27, 2001, the local police took her back and held her in a custody center for one month, then they transferred her to a detention center. When Wang Jing was 16 years old, the police in Laiwu sent her to the Jinan City's Women Forced Labor Camp for three years, where she was subjected to brainwashing and forced to do slave labor. Often she was only allowed two hours sleep. Because she was young and often lacked sleep and was exhausted, once when she was working on a sewing machine, the needle went through her finger and became stuck. Wang Jing was released after two years at the labor camp.

Prior to her stay in the labor camp, Wang Jing was in her senior year in high school, but the police threatened the school to expel her and forbid her to apply for college. Wang Jing was deprived of her right to an education and soon after was sent to the labor camp. The perpetrators at the labor camp exhausted all methods and forced Wang Jing to write a Guarantee Statement. Afterwards they planned to release her, but the officials from the Laiwu "610 Office" said, "Her parents have not been found. We can't let her go home." Wang Jing was therefore held at the labor camp for two years.

A 16-year-old girl like Wang Jing was supposed to study and enjoy time with her friends at school, but because of the persecution, she suffered two years of brutal torture at the labor camp.

Because Wang Zideng and his wife could not work and could not return home, they spent all their savings. Wang Zideng and his wife eventually returned home and sent their son Wang Xin to kindergarten. They didn't know the perpetrators had not loosened their grip.

Around 5:00 p.m. on August 5, 2004, about half a year after they returned home, Wang Zideng went to the kindergarten to pick up Wang Xin. Soon after Wang Zideng left the kindergarten, and when he was talking to an acquaintance, a dozen men wearing sunglasses and civilian clothes suddenly attacked him from behind. One man kicked the back of his knee and one man put his arm around Wang Zideng's neck and pulled him to the ground. The rest of the men carried Wang Zideng and threw him into a car about 200 meters away. Wang Zideng's son Wang Xin was pushed to the ground and cried. The teacher took Wang Xin back to the kindergarten and the head of the kindergarten eventually sent him to a relative's home.

Around 8 p.m. the same day, two police officer wearing black T-shirts knocked on Wang Zideng's home door. Only Wang Jing and six-year-old Wang Xin were home. They refused to open the door. The police tried to open the door with a key. The kids locked the door from inside so the police couldn't open it, so the police pounded on the door. The kids were scared and didn't make a sound. Around 11:00 p.m., more plainclothes police arrived, but after a while they left. Around midnight, the police shone a floodlight into Wang Zideng's home through the window, until around 5:00 a.m. Then they went back to the door and yelled and pounded on the door. The kids cried loudly. Around 10:00 a.m., three or four police officers, each holding a rubber club, climbed in through the bathroom window, opened the door and a group of police ransacked the home. They threw all the Falun Gong books on the floor and tried to take them away. Wang Jing didn't allow them to, so they left without the books. They even locked six-year-old Wang Xin in a room and interrogated him. Around 1:00 p.m., the police eventually left. They included Zhang Baode, Shao Shiyong, Tien Yugang and Tang Guangyun.

Even now, a police van numbered Lu S1026 is still parked outside Wang Zideng's residence around the clock, monitoring activities inside Wang Zideng's home.

The two children were so frightened they could not eat and grew thin. Wang Xin could not sleep at night and cried for his father. After his mother rocked him to sleep, within less than two hours he awakened from a bad dream and again cried for his father.

Wang Zideng is now being held at a local detention center. Wang Zideng and other Dafa practitioners held a hunger strike and were force-fed. The guards put shackles on shirtless Wang Zideng and often locked him to a metal chair. The guards also had collaborators [former Falun Gong practitioners who went astray as a result of torture and brainwashing] attempt to brainwash Wang Zideng. They tortured him day and night in an attempt to make him give up his belief. They threatened to put him on trial if he didn't give in. Right now, Wang Zideng is still holding a hunger strike to protest the persecution. He is extremely emaciated, but his calves are severely swollen.

(Clearwisdom.net) For the last five years, Falun Gong practitioners from Xian'an District, Xianning City, Hubei Province, have been severely oppressed directly by officers from the "610 Office," and by police officers from the national security department who report to the "610 Office." Their criminal activities are summarized as follows:

• On the eve of the National Day 1999, over a dozen Falun Gong practitioners were arrested to prevent them from visiting Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. First, the police tricked them into coming to the police station and then put them under arrest. They were then locked up in the No.2 Detention Center in Xianning City for over a month. When they were released, they each had to pay 300 yuan to cover the food and accommodation during the detention, and on top of that, another 500 yuan as a bond, supposedly returnable after a year, but the money was never returned. As for those who refused to sign the statements renouncing the practice of Falun Gong, they were taken to No.1 Detention Center, where they were jailed as criminal offenders.

• Of the twenty or more Falun Gong practitioners sentenced to forced labor , some were sent to Shayang Forced Labor Camp while others ended up in Shizishan Forced Labor Camp, where they were tortured and subjected to hard labor. A complete list is not available, but the following people were among the ones sent to the labor camps: Li Yong, Yu Jianhua, Jiang Peifang, Xiang Debin, Wu Yi, Luo Ying, Li Honghe, Wang Lixin, Wei Yuxian, Yang Xiangxian, Lei Ping, Feng Xiaomi, Feng Xiaoying, Wu Zhonglun, Zhang Chunying.

• Homes of Falun Gong practitioners have been ransacked innumerable times.

The search activity often takes place at night. A group of officers breaks into a house, and if any Falun Gong related materials are discovered in the house, the householders will be put under arrest. When a home search is done on a national holiday or before a festival, more officers are assigned to the job. Dishonest officers often take the opportunity to steal valuable items from the house.

• Detention of Falun Gong practitioners without legal documents:

Any practitioners discovered to possess Falun Gong related materials at home or caught distributing flyers on the street are immediately arrested and put under detention. Upon release, everyone is asked to pay a bond, which, for the last five years, has gone into the pockets of the two corrupt head officers of the "610 Office," Xiao Chuanjia and Zeng Guohua.

• Forcing Falun Gong practitioners to attain brainwashing classes:

In April 2004, the "610 Office" of Xian'an District issued a decree, commanding all government institutions within the district to submit names of key Falun Gong practitioners and bring them to the brainwashing classes. Under strong opposition and resistance from the respective departments and protests of the practitioners themselves, the plan did not materialize. However, the Office still managed to send teacher Zhang Jianqiang of Yongan School to a brainwashing class. Again, on October 21, 2004, the Office managed to send Luo Ying to a brainwashing class. Luo, with his strong determination, managed to escape.

• On October 14, 2004, Chen Xiqing and Chen Wenying were seen distributing flyers and clarifying the truth near the Daqiao Village, Dingsi Town, Xian'an District. They were reported by the people to the local authorities, who arrested them and put them under detention in No.1 Detention Center, where they are now suffering a lot of hardship.

• Due to the continual oppression of the "610 Office" and the national security team, Luo Taoying and Fang Nengchao are now forced to live away from their homes, roaming around the country, to avoid further persecution. They have homes they can't go back to.

My wife is fasting to protest her illegal imprisonment by the police. Today is the sixth day since her arrest. Every moment her life is in danger. When I called to ask the prison to let her go, they told me to speak to the National Security Bureau that is in charge of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.

During the five years of the ruthless persecution against Falun Gong launched by Jiang Zemin's faction, many innocent practitioners were tortured and killed. Their family members have also been implicated in the persecution, particularly their young children who now live in terror, fear and sorrow. Police suddenly break into their homes and crazily beat people, seize their belongings and take the parents away. The children then could face disaster at any time. They may be expelled from school, lose contact with their family members, and lose their source of income and be forced into homelessness. Even more serious and miserable - they could lose their parents forever, at any time.

There have been 1,049 documented cases of practitioners dying from torture or its side effects from July 1999 to September 2004. Among them, women account for 52% and men 48%. On average, 17 Falun Gong practitioners were tortured to death every month, and their average age is 45 years old. Many of them left underage children behind who had to become homeless, living in fear and missing their parents.

What's listed here is only the tip of the iceberg of these kinds of cases during the five years of persecution against Falun Gong.

I. Children whose parents were taken away forever by the ruthless persecution

While looking at the portrait of her late mother, Luo Zhixiang, the three-year-old girl Huang Ying (nickname Happy) would say with tears in her eyes, "I miss mommy." While missing her late father, Zou Songtao, four-year-old little Rongrong would stand on a stool, lie prone on the table and kiss her dad's box of ashes. And there are many more similar tragedies.

Mr. Liu Jie's son was three when his father, a schoolteacher at the Datian Middle School in Xihu Town, Fuyang City, Anhui Province died.

Ms. Shen Jianli's daughter, age four lost her 34-year-old mother, a lecturer in the Department of Applied Mathematics at Nanling Campus, Jilin University.

Mr. Zhang Zhuo, 32, an official in the Agriculture Bureau of Leshan City, Sichuan Province, - his son was just six years old when he was tortured to death.

Mr. Liu Dejun, an employee at the Xinglongtai Oil Refinery at Liaohe Oil Field of Panjin City in Liaoning Province - his son was five years old and his daughter was only 18 months old when he was tortured to death at the Panjin City Detention Center.

Mr. Wu Qingbin, a technician in the Huainan Chemical Engineering Factory, Huainan County, Anhui Province was tortured to death. His son was twelve years old.

Ms. Zhang Guiqin from Feidong County, Hefei City, Anhui Province, 37, died from having her lungs were punctured during force-feeding; she left behind two young daughters.

Ms. Yu Lixin from Jilin Province, 36, her veins were cut open and injected with unknown drugs. She died and left behind an eight-year-old daughter.

Ms. Cui Zhengshu, 36, of Korean descent, from the Chuanying District, Jilin City, was brutally tortured to death and left behind a young child.

Ms. Dai Chunhua, a nurse in the Lishu County Hospital in Siping City, Jilin Province, was tortured to death and left behind an eight-year-old son.

Ms. Li Shuhua, 32, a tailor from Yushu City, Jilin Province, was tortured to death and left behind two young children.

Ms. Wu Lingxia, 37, from Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province, was tortured to death and left behind her elementary-school-aged child.

Every child's miserable story is a witness to Jiang's faction's frenzied mistreatment and genocide of Falun Gong practitioners. Every orphan's heart-breaking tears call out to goodhearted people to help stop the inhumane persecution.

When Rongrong was born in November 1999, her dad wasn't there because at the end of October, her dad Zou Songtao went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was arrested as soon as he returned to Qingdao City. He wasn't released until December. Later, he was in and out of prison many times. He was tortured to death on November 3, 2000. Altogether, Rongrong was with her dad for less than six months.

In May of 2001, Rongrong's mom Zhang Yunhe was sighted by police while passing out truth-clarifying materials. She went into exile in fear of being illegally arrested. Rongrong was then separated from her mother and stayed with her grandparents.

Before long, her grandma who was over 60 years old, took ill and died in August 2001 from the pain of losing her son-in-law and being separated from her daughter.

Rongrong has lost her father, her mother and her grandmother, three people that loved her the most. Whenever she misses her loved ones, the four-year-old steps up on a little stool and reaches up to kiss her dad's box of ashes. Sometimes she tells others that her Daddy is in heaven.

Rongrong lost her parents because they practice Falun Gong, assimilating to its principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance to become better people.

Rongrong's dad, Zou Songtao, excelled in his studies and career and was very kind to others. He graduated from Nanjing University, and in 1999 received a Master's degree in Marine Biology from Qingdao Marine University in Shandong Province. In July of 1999, Jiang and his regime began the systematic, illegal persecution of Falun Gong. At 4:00 a.m. on July 22, Zou Songtao was taken away from his home and illegally detained at a small hotel for a month. Later he was again detained countless times. He was once handcuffed to a metal chair (The chair is made of steel pipes. Victims are restrained on the chairs with both arms and legs tied for a long period of time. See http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2002/1/9/17577.html for illustration). The perpetrator was Taixi Police Station chief Gong Guoquan, in Qingdao City, Shandong Province. Gong beat him with the sole of his shoe so viciously that it resulted in bleeding and his head swelling to twice its size, beyond the point of recognition. He remained unconscious for over 20 minutes.

In July of 2000, Songtao was tricked into going to the Qingdao City Police Department and was subsequently sent to Qingdao City Labor Camp in Shandong Province. He was transferred to the Wangcun Labor Camp in Zibo City, Shandong Province at the end of September 2000. A couple of months later, during the morning of November 3^rd, 2000, policemen Zheng Wanxin and Shao Zhenghua brutally beat him using electric batons. Songtao left the world that day. He was only 28 years old. Rongrong was only 11 months old.

Rongrong's mom Zhang Yunhe used to be the chief accountant for the Qingdao Derui Leather Chemistry Company, a company based in Germany. She did an excellent job. Because she cultivated Falun Dafa, the company was pressured by the Jiang's regime to let her go. In May 2001 she was sighted when distributing truth clarification materials. To avoid persecution, she went into exile. For a long time, her whereabouts had been unknown. Later on it was said that she was incarcerated at the Qingdao City's Dashan Detention Center, but her family members have not received any information about her.

Huang Ying, nicknamed Happy, was born on May 18, 2001. Right now she lives with her grandparents in a dilapidated house made of sun-dried mud bricks at No. 12 Xincun, Rujiazhuang Village, Wujing Town, Linqu County, Shandong Province. Her grandparents have no source of income. They lead a difficult life.

Happy's mom, Luo Zhixiang and dad, Huang Guohua, were illegally monitored and detained by the authorities for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. When Happy was only three months old she had to leave her mom. Her grandmother took her back to their hometown in Shandong Province. On December 5, 2002 when she was a year and a half old, she was able to see her mom's body. She did not know what her dad looked like because he was then in a labor camp and didn't know his wife had died. Now Happy still cannot see her dad, because recently, agents from the Tianhe District's "610 Office" in Guangzhou City were looking for him. He went into exile.

Her mom Luo Zhixiang used to be the architectural designer in the Design Office at the Nongken Construction Industry Corporation in Guangdong Province. On November 22, 2002, the Guangzhou City Tianhe District "610 Office" enforcers along with personnel from the Xinghuajie Police Station took her to the Huangpu Drug Rehabilitation Center for brainwashing. She started a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Later on she was sent to the Tianhe Chinese Medicine Hospital and passed away on December 4^th at the age of 29. She was three months pregnant when she died.

Hearing of Luo's death, her in-laws, together with her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, came down from Shandong Province to Guangzhou City. Her brother and sister also came. The police station and the "610 office" perpetrators claimed that Luo Zhixiang committed suicide, but they refused the family members' reasonable request of having the medical examiner to do an autopsy. She was pregnant and told her mother-in-law that she wanted to give birth to the baby, because Falun Gong had clearly stated that committing suicide was a crime. How could she possibly kill herself? To cover up their crimes and evade their responsibilities, the police station and "610 Office" perpetrators even told the family to send Luo's body to be cremated before resolving the inquiry. The family told them that only Luo's husband Huang Guohua had the right to sign any cremation document. The police detained Luo's husband by sentencing him to criminal detention and refused to let him to see his wife for the last time. Luo's body is currently in a funeral parlor. The family went to appeal but have not received a reply.

Now Happy often asks for her daddy. Since she was a year and a half old, she has never told her maternal grandmother about the death of her mother. Her grandmother's family keeps it a secret from her maternal grandmother because she is in poor health and they don't want to shock her.

When her maternal grandmother is not around and if someone asks Happy, "Where is Mommy?"

Happy, "The bad people killed Mommy!"

"Why don't you tell your grandma?"

"She will cry and cry!"

When Happy saw her mother's picture in a truth clarification pamphlet called "A Guangzhou Story" in the living room of a fellow practitioner, she said, "That's Mommy." She acted as if nothing had happened and went out and played. We thought she wasn't feeling hurt because she was too young, but we were wrong! When we left the room, she picked up the pamphlet and looked at her mother's picture and cried. Looking at her, we all cried. She is so considerate, although she is so young! She didn't want to upset her grandmother and she didn't want us to worry about her.

Falun Gong practitioner He Huajiang from Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province was tortured to death at Daqing Labor Camp on Dec. 23, 2002.

On Sept. 16, 2002, officers from the Qingxin Police Station abducted Falun Gong practitioner He Huajiang from his workplace at the Daqing Sixth Oil Refinery, escorted him to his home, and tried to force him to open his door. He resolutely refused and the police severely beat him in the corridor in front of his home. His 14-year-old son who was sick at home witnessed the scene and opened the door to put a stop to this crime. The police seized the opportunity and entered the home, ransacked his home and took both the father and the son to the police station.

He Huajiang requested the release of his 14-year-old son. His wife died a few years ago from illness. After his son was released, He Huajiang remained in police custody at the Daqing Detention Center.

On Dec. 23, 2002, He Huajiang was sent to Daqing Labor Camp although he did not pass the medical exam. The police first shaved his head and then tortured him in an effort to coerce him into abandoning his faith in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." He Huajiang refused to give up practicing Falun Dafa. The police tied him onto a metal chair, stripped him, opened the door and window and doused him with icy-cold water. Prior to arriving at the labor camp, He Hujiang had already been illegally detained at a detention center for three months and became extremely weak. He was tortured to death right away.

The same night, the labor camp authorities called his son, telling him that his father was ill and they would pick him [the son] up at home to come visit his father and later on send both of them home. The boy believed them. When they took him to see his father at the Daqing People's Hospital, his father's body had already become cold. His father was bald, shoeless, wearing a single layer of clothing and appeared to have marks all over his body from ropes or twine. The son questioned the police why these were on his body. The police lied to him commenting that those were marks left by the rescuing effort for his heart attack.

He Huajiang's workplace informed his family in their hometown about his death, and escorted his family members the whole time after they arrived, so as to completely isolate them from contacting or being contacted by others. When the family members asked for an autopsy, the workplace authority and the police warned them that the family would have to bear all the autopsy expenses and the child's benefit would be gone. Between twenty and thirty police showed up at the crematorium but only up to ten family members were allowed to be present. To prevent their crimes from being exposed, the police arranged the secret cremation very early on the New Year's Day, 2003.

After He Huajiang was tortured to death, Jiang and his regime left his son nothing but a cold box of ashes. The teenager only cries on the inside as he has become an orphan and has no way to appeal for justice.

Local Falun Dafa practitioners came to take the child home and said to him, "Kiddo, Falun Dafa practitioners' homes are your home. You are our child." He did not want to leave the apartment where he used to live with his loving father. Hence, Falun Dafa practitioners paid for him to have a live-in housekeeper and arranged for his school and living costs. They often went to visit him and brought all sorts of groceries. A retired Falun Dafa practitioner gave the money he saved for his own grandson's bike to this young man. The financial conditions of local practitioners are actually not so great. Some, who are family-dependent, have only a 50-Yuan per month income, but they are determined to bring this child up well, no matter what kind of hardships they have to endure.

Practitioner's true compassion calmed the child quickly. During the 2003 mid-year examinations (for high school level), this young man was admitted by Daqing City's Petroleum Mine Vocational College to a two to five year college degree program. Falun Dafa practitioners gathered over ten thousand Yuan in educational funds for him. Though he normally lives in the dorm, every other weekend he is treated by local practitioners with good food and necessities, plus some pocket money. This young man has no worries any more; he has already become one of the family members in each of these Falun Dafa disciple's homes.

Neighbors see this teenager's situation and all talk about it, "I didn't believe there were such good people in the world. Now I have witnessed it, and I have believed it. Only Falun Dafa practitioners can do this." Whenever someone mentions He Huajiang's son, people who know the truth will say with tears in their eyes, "Falun Dafa is great! Truly great!"

Liu Xiaotian will be 19 years old by the end of 2004. He was born in Hunan Province, China. As an only child, his parents dearly loved him and he led a carefree life. However, when he was almost 16, tragedy struck his family. Liu Xiaotian, a child who didn't know what Falun Gong was or cared anything about the persecution became a fugitive. His experience and the deaths of his parents, of which he was just told by his uncle, made him join Falun Gong's Anti-Torture Exhibits in Northern Europe.

Liu Xiaotian was born in December of 1985. His family lived in Yongzhou City, Hunan Province, China. His father was Liu Qing, an official of the Zhishan Township Government in Yongzhou City. His mother was Yang Yuyan, who used to be employed by the Shanghe Town Textile Factory in the Lengshuitan District. She voluntarily gave up her job in October of 1999. Prior to the year 2001, Liu Xiaotian's family led a happy life. Although they were not rich, they lived a harmonious life. His parents doted on him. He went to the local middle school and led a light-hearted life.

In the beginning of 1999, his parents began to practice Falun Gong and follow the principles of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. They wanted to be good people. In the fall of 1999, his mother's work place planned to lay off some of the employees. In order to let people who had a hard life keep their jobs, she volunteered to be laid off in October.

On July 20, 1999, the Jiang Zemin regime began its persecution of Falun Gong. Liu Xiaotian was then boarding at the middle school and only came back home once a week. He saw his parents practicing Falun Gong, but he didn't really know much about it. It never occurred to him that his parents could face great danger.

When he was 16, on November 23, 2001, a Friday afternoon, Liu Xiaotian was in the classroom. Police came to his school and told his teacher that his parents were detained. They asked for him. A classmate overheard it and ran to tell him that his parents were in trouble and the police wanted him. Hearing that, Liu Xiaotian quivered with fear. He ran out of the school without taking anything. He hid in a neighbor's storage room for the night. Around midnight, he sneaked across the road to check out his home. He saw that the windows of his home were smashed as was the furniture inside. His neighbor saw him and offered him to stay at his place. Two or three days later, though, the police went to the neighbor' place, telling them that if they saw Liu Xiaotian and didn't report this to the police, they would be punished. The neighbor decided not to report him but to give him some money and sent him to his only relative, an uncle who is a farmer in Fujian Province.

After a long and hard journey, he finally reached this uncle's place. His legs were injured and he had a big scar on his neck. Five or six months later, one day in May of 2002, the local police came to his uncle's home. Liu Xiaotian immediately hid. He didn't know what the police said to his uncle, but after the police left, his uncle became very silent. During that night, his uncle asked a friend to send him to Shenzhen, a city that is close to Hong Kong. He hid in a huge warehouse filled with piles of sacks. He dared not speak to anyone and thus spent a year in fear, anxiety, suffering great depression.

He missed his parents, but his uncle always told him that he had no information about them. He spent a lonely year in this warehouse, having nobody to talk with and suffering many hardships, both physically and mentally.

In June of 2003, his uncle, who did not have an easy life, borrowed a lot of money to pay smugglers to get Liu Xiaotian outside China. On July 1, 2003, Liu Xiaotian arrived in Denmark. Regrettably, several hours later, the smuggler took him to the Copenhagen railway station and left. Having experienced so many threats and deceptions, Liu Xiaotian became very fearful. He quivered at the sight of the police. An old Chinese lady took him to a refugee camp. Deeply frightened, he couldn't speak properly nor could he fill out forms. He was mostly afraid of being sent back to China and put in the hands of the Chinese police.

With the help of the staff in the refugee camp, Liu Xiaotian got into contact with Denmark Falun Gong practitioners. He cried. The first words he said to them were to ask them to look for his parents. He missed his father. He missed his mother. Because of what he had gone through, he couldn't express himself clearly. He couldn't read, either. He often cried and had nightmares. It took Denmark Falun Gong practitioners one year before they could really learn from him his story and suffering.

With the help of the practitioners in Denmark, Liu Xiaotian began to think about why his parents were persecuted in such a way for practicing Falun Gong. He began to practice Falun Gong himself. At the beginning he couldn't read Falun Gong books very well and stumbled over each sentence. Yet he kept on reading one book after another. Gradually he made fewer mistakes in reading and could read more and more easily. In reading the books, he began to understand the reasons for all the suffering, his parents' sacrifices, and the principles of life. He cherished the new life he found from practicing Falun Gong, after all the past tribulations. Smiles came back to his face, so did the happiness of his heart. The wounds were healing.

While he was recovering, Liu Xiaotian started to think about his parents. He hadn't heard from them for a long time. Where were they? Would his uncle send him abroad without his parents' consent? Did he hide something from him? He began to suspect.

Several days before this article was written, his uncle who still lives in China told him for the first time that his parents had died in April 2002 from torture, five months after they were detained. No one knows exactly what happened or where they died. The uncle told Liu Xiaotian that in May of 2002 the local police visited him, and informed him of the death of Liu Xiaotian's parents. They refused to tell him any details. He dared not ask anything, either, after he heard the police said the word "suicide."

What's more inconceivable is that after the police took two lives in five months, they intended to get rid of the victims' orphan. They forced Liu Xiaotian's uncle to sign papers declaring that he "would disassociate himself from Liu Xiaotian's family." The police also demanded that he report Liu Xiaotian's whereabouts and threatened that their entire family would be punished should they go against this directive. His uncle was deeply frightened. That was the reason why he sent Liu Xiaotian that very night to the warehouse in Shenzhen. He dared not keep Liu Xiantian at his own place.

Liu Xiaotian had no one to turn to in China, nor did he see any way out. Under such desperate circumstances, his uncle had to borrow a huge amount of money to send Liu Xiaotian abroad.

Liu Xiaotian said, from the photos provided by some kind-hearted people who have information, he could see that the police first had posted seals on the gate of his family home, closing it off. Later they tore the house down and removed the ruins, leaving nothing there.

Little Fadu: I want daddy

Clearwisdom.net published an article on Dec. 26, 2001 entitled "How Shall I Tell My Little Daughter about Her Dad's Wrongful Death?" by Ms. Dai Zhizhen, whose late husband was Falun Gong practitioner Chen Chengyong from Guangdong Province who was tortured to death. The article reads,

"One day in July, my roommate, with an unusually solemn looks, gave me some printed news downloaded from the Internet. I was shocked just reading the title "Chen Chengyong, Falun Dafa practitioner forced to become destitute; died as a result of persecution," -- because Chen Chengyong is my husband! I dared not to trust my eyes. After wiping my eyes I read it again. It was real! Such grievous news made me quiver all over. I was feeling faint and dizzy as if everything was spinning around and couldn't get myself under control... For a long time, my roommate consoled me as her tears fell, and gently held me with her hands at the bed of my daughter who bears a strong resemblance to her dad. Looking through tears at my fifteen-month old baby who had lost her father, I felt my heart had been torn apart and my body kept shaking.

While immersed in grief, the following misfortunes struck me. My sister-in-law (also a Falun Gong practitioner) was abducted and taken into a brainwashing class (created by Jiang's regime, for the illegal detention of Falun Gong practitioners) when she went to identify my husband's body. The perpetrators tried to force her to renounce practicing Falun Gong, but she sternly refused because she believed in the principles of Falun Dafa, "Truth, Compassion, and Tolerance," and insisted on the freedom of belief as a basic human right. But the police, being blinded by lust for gain, not only had no pity on her brother who just passed away, but in August they also illegally sentenced her to two years in a forced labor camp. My father-in-law couldn't take the grief of losing his young son and the instant imprisonment of his beloved daughter. In September the elderly man passed away from grieving. Being hit by these tragedies one after another, I was plunged into tremendous sadness.

I am frightened by the terror of knowing that within only two months, two of these three family members died tragic deaths, and the other was imprisoned. I don't have the courage to get my husband's remains back from China, where the authorities are placing the Falun Gong practitioners in a hell on earth. I regret that I complied with my husband's decision not come to join me in Australia when I was going back to live in the hometown where I was born. Jiang now has made the China, with such a long history and ancient civilization, into a state of terrorism. In which direction is China going? I am lost. Why is the ruling regime in my native country acting so inhuman toward the Falun Gong practitioners' adherence for following "Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Forbearance?" I remain puzzled despite much thought.

My father-in-law had been a critically ill patient diagnosed with uremia, a fatal disease incurable by both modern and traditional Chinese medicine. He had spent a lot of money on medical fees in his quest to become well. Miraculously, his disease disappeared after practicing Falun Gong, giving him a second life. The miracle produced wide repercussions in the neighborhood and in the paper plant where he used to work. It attracted many people to join the practice of Falun Gong. But on July 20, 1999, Jiang started to persecute Falun Gong. The old man told the police, "If I were to stop practicing Falun Gong I would die." The police replied, "We know Falun Gong saved your life. But since it is the order from the top to outlaw Falun Gong, we have no alternative but to follow their instructions." Falun Gong brought the old man back to life, but Jiang's regime took his life again.

What has happened to my husband, and the news about his death by gross abuse and mistreatment under the persecution keeps coming to my mind. He had been homeless and destitute since November 2000 to avoid the illegal brainwashing plotted by Jiang's state terrorist regime. We kept in contact until January 10, 2001. He was very healthy. With Jiang's regime detaining more and more Falun Gong practitioners and placing them into brainwashing classes, the worsening situation made his life harder day by day; then I lost contact with him. As I knew our phone calls to China had been tapped; and had I inquired where he was it would have brought him into more danger. All I could do was send blessings in my heart and wish for his safety. But what I got from the news report in July was "Recently Chen Chengyong died in a thatched shed. When identifying the corpse, his sister found it was decomposed and it smelled somewhat. It is estimated that he had been dead for a period of time before the police notified the family..."

I have been in deep sorrow over my husband's tragic death; I have been in extreme bitterness for my young daughter who has lost her father forever before she can even say "Daddy." My husband liked her very much. The first picture taken when our daughter was six months old has become the only memento of my family. Whenever I call my daughter's name, "Fadu" (Fa Save) which my husband had given her and see her innocently kissing the picture my heart is bleeding. I don't know what such terror will bring to her. My mind is in turmoil when I face all of this. But one thing I know from the very beginning that it is Jiang's regime that cruelly persecutes Falun Gong, and it is the persecution that killed my husband and brings misery to tens of thousands of families like mine. Jiang is the prime culprit committing the crime."

From then on, little Fadu followed her mom, traveled to dozens of countries, holding her daddy's box of ashes and telling kind-hearted people about the story of her daddy being brutally killed, and the story that should not be happening in China. Everyone's heart is touched after hearing Fadu's story and people say: it's time for the inhumane persecution to end!

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Lirong from Dingzhou City, Baoding area of Hebei Province benefited from practicing Falun Gong, however she was constantly persecuted because she persisted in her belief. Her deceived husband abused her and murdered her in early morning of February 9, 2002. Their son was only ten years old when she died.

Ms. Yang Lirong, 34 years old, lived on Beimen Street, Dingzhou City, Baoding, Hebei Province. She began practicing Falun Gong in 1998. In October 1999 she went to Beijing to validate Falun Dafa and to clarify the truth. Xiao Fudi, a police officer from Dingzhou City, arrested and held her in a detention center for two months. The authorities extorted 5,000 Yuan before releasing her, and the police constantly harassed her after she returned home. Her husband was worried that he may lose his job and often physically abused Yang Lirong. Yang Lirong conducted herself according to Truth-Compassion-Tolerance and treated her husband with kindness. The perpetrators later arrested her and sent her to a brainwashing class. Because she refused to give up her belief, she was sent to this class three times. Her husband grew furious and blamed Yang Lirong for the persecution. In the evening of February 8, 2002, the perpetrators again went to Yang Lirong's home to search for Falun Gong materials. Early the next morning, while Yang Lirong's parents were away, Yang Lirong's husband strangled her to death with his hands. She left behind their 10-year-old son. Her husband immediately called the police after the murder. The police came and had an autopsy done while her body was still warm. They took away many organs, which were warm and bleeding profusely. An insider in the Dingzhou Police Station said later, "This autopsy is not done on a dead body, it is done on a live person!"

The orphan that Yang Lirong has left behind, a ten-year-old child, from then on lived in the shadow of father murdering mother.

For the past five years, Jiang's regime has been controlling the nation's propaganda machinery to fabricate lies and shift blame to Falun Gong. They have been using implication to intimidate family members, which resulted in thousands of broken families. Yang Lirong's family's misery is the result of Jiang's policy of eradicating Falun Gong and devastating human nature.

* Where is Lu Yuanzhuo, the ten-year-old boy from Gongzhuling, Jilin Province?

Lu Yuanzhuo, ten years old, from Gongzhuling, Jilin Province is a young boy, a Falun Gong practitioner. Since Jiang's regime started persecuting Falun Gong in 1999, many of his relatives including his father and mother have been illegally arrested or sentenced to forced labor for practicing Falun Gong. On Dec. 30, 2000, the ten-year-old went to Tiananmen Square in Beijing by himself to appeal for Falun Gong but was brutally beaten up by police and detained. The police even injected him with unknown drugs capable of disrupting the central nervous system. Later the police took him from where he was detained. We have no idea if he is still alive or know of his whereabouts. The following article about Lu Yuanzhuo, written by Falun Gong practitioner Jin Sheng from Jilin Province, was published on Clearwisdom.net on July 22, 2004.

"On December 31, 2000, several practitioners from Jilin went to Beijing to validate Falun Dafa. We were arrested and taken to the Jilin Province Liaison Office in Beijing where we met Lu Yuanzhou, a ten-year old boy. His big eyes and his childish face mirrored his firm resolve. His home was in Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province. Both his father and mother had been illegally sent to a labor camp. Many of his relatives who practiced Falun Gong had also suffered persecution.

While detained together with Lu Yuanzhuo in the Jilin Province office we asked him, "Why did you come by yourself to Beijing to validate the Fa ?" He replied, "Because Gongzhuling City is Teacher's hometown, and many practitioners from there have gone out to validate Dafa. Almost no one remains at home. The police detain all practitioners who are at home. Although I am young, I am still Teacher's disciple and I also have a responsibility to validate the Fa."

On December 30, 2000, Yuanzhou was in Tiananmen Square, holding up a banner with the words "Falun Dafa is great." He yelled out the words loudly as he ran around the Square, with the police chasing him. He weaved in and out of the crowds. Finally, many policemen surrounded him and then, in front of everyone, started brutally beating the ten-year-old child. Then they sent him to the Jilin Province Liaison Office in Beijing. In order to force him to reveal his hometown and family name, the police beat him all the way from the first to the fourth floor. Despite the brutal beating, in the end, the policemen could only learn his pseudonym, Li Xinming.

Yuanzhuo's celestial eye was open and he could see many things. When he saw that detained practitioners could not pass the huge tribulations they faced, he would tell them, "All of us are under Teacher's protection at all times. Every practitioner has his own mission in this world. Do not miss this rare opportunity to validate the Fa and offer salvation to living beings." When we asked Yuanzhuo what he would do first when he got out he replied, "I want to eat a big bunch of sugarcoated haws." [a kind of Chinese children's favorite food in winter]

In order to conceal the persecution against Dafa practitioners, the provincial police forcibly injected Yuanzhuo with an unknown drug capable of disrupting the central nervous system. Afterwards, his mind was somehow affected, but he was still steadfast and declared, "I am Teacher's disciple. Teacher will help me discharge this poisonous substance."

Later, we wrote our home phone numbers and contact information on his arm and promised that we would meet each other when we were free. Yuanzhuo also gave us his telephone number. While we were together, he would often tell us that we must diligently study the Fa and practice the exercises. After a few days, the provincial policemen suddenly called Yuanzhuo away, claiming that some of his relatives were there to take him home. We knew that he had never revealed his real name, and that no one at his home even knew he was there. The policemen took him away.

In 2001, when we returned home, we tried to contact Yuanzhuo but got no reply. We have called frequently during these years, searching for his whereabouts. However, since we separated from him at the Jilin Provincial Liaison Office in Beijing we have searched fruitlessly. Since the five years when we last saw him, whenever we face difficulties, we are inspired by recalling little Yuanzhuo's familiar face, his steadfastness in Dafa under any circumstances and his conviction in Teacher and Dafa.

In Jiang's ruthless persecution against Falun Gong, they wouldn't even leave alone a ten-year-old child.

Zhang Jingqiong, mother of the twelve-year-old twin sisters Weng Mengyun and Weng Menghua from Honghu City, Hubei Province, was illegally detained at the Hubei Shayang Labor Camp for practicing Falun Gong. On Aug. 18, 2004, incited by the police, an inmate in the No. 9 Division brutally beat her. The severe beating caused Ms. Zhang to pass out in a peanut field, apparently due to excessive bleeding from a ruptured ovary.

Ms. Zhang was sentenced to a year and a half of forced labor by policeman Zuo Yehong. Her twin daughters went to appeal to the mayor to let their mother come home with them because she has a serious heart problem (Ms. Zhang had been imprisoned four times between 1999 and 2004 and her health deteriorated as a result). But instead of support and understanding, what the two girls received was mockery and insults. They have to work part-time to cover their living expenses. However, the girls excel in school, especially in writing. They won an award in the National Chinese Olympic Competition in 2003, and the next year they won First Prize in the local competition in Jingzhou City. They have maintained the top two places in their class.

The twins live with their 82-year-old grandmother and are suffering, waiting every day for their mother to come home. Six months later, however, the twins heard that their mother was dying.

On Aug. 18, 2004, the Shayang Labor Camp authority beat up Zhang Jingqiong to the brink of death. It is said from the police that it was because Zhang Jingqiong refused to give up practicing Falun Gong and "reform."

According to report from Clearwisdom.net dated Oct. 4, 2004, Mr. Huang Wei, a Falun Gong practitioner in Shijiazhuang City, has been on a hunger strike since August 28, 2004. His life is in great danger.

Huang Wei was sentenced to three years of forced labor at the end of 1999 for having the "intention to appeal" on behalf of Falun Dafa. The guards put him through three labor camps in various attempts to force him to write "the four statements" (a criticizing statement, repentance statement, pledge statement, determination statement, all meant to stop him from practicing Falun Gong). He was deprived of sleep for 15 successive days and also tortured. As a result, Mr. Huang sustained three wounds on his head and was on the verge of death. Mr. Huang survived in the end because of his firm belief in Falun Dafa. He upheld his dignity and his belief and never gave in to the evildoers.

At the end of 2002, Huang Wei was released. With the support of friends he began to do business in clothes and medicine. He found some unemployed Dafa practitioners as partners in order to earn a living. He also rented a workplace and storehouse in Room 301, Unit 3, Building 19 of the Tractor Plant.

On the morning of April 13, 2004, Huang Wei was tricked into going to a police station and was detained. The perpetrator was Yang Yuliang, a police officer from Hedong Police Station. The police later went to his place of business and arrested five other practitioners. The police confiscated all their personal property. It is said that all were incarcerated in a detention center. After their protest by hunger strike they were taken back to the police station -- 37 days after they had been arrested. The police did not allow their family members to visit. The police made up confessions signed with fake fingerprints, and committed perjury to frame them. Then, at the end of May, Huang Wei was sent to Division 202, Brigade 2 of the Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp. There, the guards kept him separated from everyone else and blocked off all information about him.

Huang Wei is only about 30 years old. He has a 5-year-old child. His wife, Hao Yanqiu's whereabouts have been unknown since he was arrested. Thus, his relatives have temporarily adopted his child.

For the sake of the children mentioned in these sad stories, children who are enduring huge misery that conceals an even greater disaster, that of certain people in the Chinese government ruining people's minds, families and souls with lies and deception in China right now: kindhearted people, please join together send our just plea to put an end to this ruthless persecution against Falun Dafa practitioners! Falun Gong practitioners are good people who believe in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." Let's reach out our helping hands and extend our care to these children whose parents died for speaking up the truth for their belief! This effort is also for everyone's rights and future, including ours.

(Clearwisdom.net) The Jilin Prison has been persecuting Falun Gong practitioners very severely. At least three practitioners have died there due to the persecution. They are: Liu Chengjun, Wei Xiushan, and Zhang Jianhua.

During the past few years, practitioners in Jilin City have been trying to rescue jailed fellow practitioners. We participate in activities such as sending forth righteous thoughts in nearby locations, telling the facts about the persecution directly to the prison officials, calling and sending mail to each office in the prison, printing and distributing local versions of truth-clarification materials, and distributing investigative reports on the local policemen issued by the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong.

Recently we heard that an unknown practitioner was persecuted to death in a local hospital. Later we learned that the practitioner was Cui Weidong. We also received information that there were more practitioners in Jilin Prison whose lives are in danger due to the persecution. When they were sent to a hospital for emergency treatment, the prison strictly blocked all information. Facing this situation, we immediately held a few meetings and reached a common understanding. First we published the latest persecution facts on the Clearwisdom website to expose the evil deeds to the world. We also made a flyer that said, "All Citizens in Jilin City, Please Pay Close Attention to the Falun Gong Practitioners Who Are Dying Because of the Persecution." Over the next three days, local practitioners posted more than a thousand flyers all over the hospital and the city to expose the persecution.

The day after we published the news on the Clearwisdom website, October 11, 2004, the hospital received many phone calls from all over the world. The employees who answered the phones claimed that they didn't know any details about the dead practitioner. They said that the practitioner who died in the hospital was sent in when he was almost dead, and Jilin Prison didn't disclose any detailed information about the prisoner to the hospital. The doctors and nurses didn't know the true story until they got the phone calls or read the flyers. Thinking back over the incident, the doctors and nurses realized that something must have been wrong, because while the practitioner had died over a month ago, the prison still hadn't allowed the relatives to see the body. After the case was exposed, Jilin City's Changyi Police Department ordered the hospital to not allow any visitors to see the practitioner's body without permission from the police department. The doctors and nurses discussed it all over the hospital. Many people felt that the prison must have done something very bad, otherwise they would allow the relatives to see the body.

The Changyi Police Department also ordered the hospital to catch and detain the practitioners who were distributing and posting truth-clarification flyers. The officials, doctors, and nurses who had realized the truth abhorred the behavior of the police. Even after more than 10 days, many flyers exposing the cruel persecution of practitioners in Jilin Prison were still up on the walls, and nobody took them down.

For a long time the policemen in Jilin Prison had tortured practitioner Li Zhiyong from Changchun City, and Mr. Li was dying. Local practitioners exposed the persecution facts on the Clearwisdom website many times. His parents were also actively involved in the rescue. They went directly to Jilin Prison to ask top prison officials to release Mr. Li Zhiyong. After they were refused without any reason given, they went to the Jilin Province Prison Management Bureau, the provincial Judicial Department, and the provincial "610 Office," demanding that they release their dying son. At last, Mr. Li Zhiyong was released unconditionally. On October 13, 2004, Mr. Li was returned to his home safely.

During this event, practitioners from both inside and outside of China formed one body. Some made phone calls, some stood up to clarify the facts on a one-to-one basis, some went to the prison to send forth righteous thoughts, and some distributed truth-clarification flyers. Many practitioners joined in. Everyone involved felt how great the power was when practitioners worked together.

In this rescue effort, we identified the correct goal from the very beginning. Our fundamental goal was to save people by exposing the evil and clarifying the facts. The rescue action exposed the wickedness of Jilin Prison to ordinary people. We also helped people realize the evil nature of the persecution against innocent Falun Gong practitioners.

(Clearwisdom.net) Cuzco, a famous ancient city in Peru, is one of the ten most famous historical sites in the world. Machu Picchu is the most famous Native American historical site, which is also called the "Lost City of the Incas." It was constructed on a steep mountain at an elevation of 3,800 meters. Questions about how ancient Native-Americans transported the giant stones up the great mountain still remain.

Hulia, a Native-American mother, lived in a beautiful village of the "lost city" surrounded by the mountains. She was born and grew up there. She painstakingly planted the corn and herded cattle and sheep every year. However, the corn that she planted never grew well due to the poor soil and the plateau's dry and cold climate. Hulia and her husband had a very hard life. Even her four sons had to leave their hometown one by one and go to other places in order to make a living. The 81-year-old Hulia had many diseases, which made her suffer a lot. It made her even sadder when she lost hearing in both ears one night. Every day, as Hulia stood at her front door looking out at the deep and green woods and the undulating mountains, she continuously wiped her tears with her work-hardened hands and hoped to see her sons returning home.

One day, one of her sons finally came back home. The mother looked at her healthy son in astonishment and anxiously asked how his serious spinal problem had been cured. Staring at his mother, who had lost her hearing and had deep wrinkles on her face, her son cried. He took his mother outside on the grass and showed her the five sets of Falun Gong exercises, and then, he solemnly handed the book Falun Gong to her. When Hulia opened the first page of Falun Gong and saw the Teacher's picture, her tears ran down. She tightly held Falun Gong to her chest and looked up at the sky with her lips shaking. She couldn't express her feelings at that moment.

So Hulia said goodbye to her hometown, where she had lived for eighty-one years, and came to Lima, the capital of Peru. One sunny weekend, people saw an elderly Indian lady and her son come to the Falun Gong exercise site. When the graceful Falun Gong exercise music played, the mother started her journey of cultivation. After practicing the exercises and watching Teacher's nine lectures, the next day, her ears were painful and itchy, and then, the magnificent world was not quiet any more, as she could hear again. Once more, her tears fell down without stopping. She could not express how thankful she was to the Teacher, who gave her a second life. She now studies Falun Dafa books for over five hours a day without wearing glasses. There is a photo of the Teacher on the wall in her room. Every day she stands in front of the Teacher's picture and quietly looks at it for while, then gently says: "Thank you! Master!"

Since May 2001, practitioners in Toronto have been going to the local Chinese Consulate every Saturday afternoon to peacefully appeal, clarify the truth and send forth righteous thoughts. Last Saturday (November 6, 2004) they found that the Visa Office was unusually bright, with all the lights on and windows open. The practitioners looked inside and saw that the "Wall of Hate" (with anti-Falun Gong propaganda) that had been pasted on the wall for nearly two years had disappeared.

Beginning in early 2003, every person who went to Chinese Consulate in Toronto would see the more than ten gruesome photos and slanderous material that filled up the entire wall inside the Visa Office. One might expect to see photos of the Great Wall or of colorful aspects of China's unique culture, but instead, the wall was covered with propaganda photos and materials contrived to demonize Falun Gong.

The wall of hate was used by Jiang's faction to attack Falun Gong practitioners. It forced people from around the world who came to visit the consulate to obtain visas and passports to be exposed to hate propaganda while waiting in line.

The wall was thus called the "Wall of Hate." It spread lies and hatred in Toronto's peaceful society for two years, in a place where hundreds of Canadian citizens and residents come each day.

With this question in mind, I interviewed Falun Gong practitioners in Toronto.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ye said that it remains to be seen whether the "Wall of Hate" will really disappear for good. The Chinese Consulate General in Toronto's use of hate propaganda has extended far beyond the "Wall of Hate" inside the consulate.

In the past five years, the Chinese Embassy and Consulates in Canada have followed, monitored and even threatened local Falun Gong practitioners, and also interfered with various activities Falun Gong practitioners have held. Much evidence shows that the Chinese Consulate has directly disseminated hate propaganda to the local Chinese community and stirred up hate against Falun Gong. The Chinese Consulate officials repeatedly distributed materials in Chinese, English and French, slandering Falun Gong to all levels of Canadian government officials, and collected and provided a blacklist of Falun Gong practitioners to Jiang's regime, and so on.

Toronto Falun Gong practitioner Mr. John Zhang said, "The hate propaganda is based on lies and deception, and it should not have appeared in the first place. These actions are in violation of Canadian laws, as well as international diplomatic treaties."

Mr. Zhang continued, "Since Jiang Zemin began persecuting Falun Gong in 1999, we have been trying to contact staff in the Chinese Consulate to clarify the truth to them. The staff members can see the true situation of Falun Gong overseas, and keep contact with Falun Gong practitioners. They have witnessed the Falun Gong practitioners' peacefulness, but they have been continuing to distribute hate propaganda. They cannot avoid legal and moral responsibility with the excuse of being unable to learn the truth or 'just following orders.'"

Canadian Falun Gong practitioners have made all kinds of efforts in order to resist the Jiang faction's persecution of their belief, and to stop the hate propaganda that has been extended to Canada over the past few years.

For example, beginning in 2003, the practitioners made anti-hate propaganda postcards to call for help from the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

With their effort, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police contacted practitioners numerous times to learn the facts. Toronto police also listened to the Falun Gong practitioners' report. Officers in 52 police precincts in Toronto felt shocked at learning that the Chinese Consulate disseminated hate propaganda in Canada, including the "Wall of Hate" inside the consulate, and that they regularly mailed slanderous materials to different levels of Canadian government officials. The officers also reported these facts to their superiors.

On April 25, 2003, Deputy Consul General of China in Toronto Pan Xinchun was sued for libel for defaming Falun Gong practitioner Joel Chipkar in The Toronto Star. On February 3, 2004, the Canadian Ontario Superior Court ruled that Pan Xinchun "acted maliciously and outside of his consular functions," and Pan was ordered to pay $10,000 for Chipkar's legal fees and a $1,000 symbolic fee for damages. Pan defied the court's verdict and refused to comply. The Ontario Superior Court has filed a notice to freeze Pan's assets and allow garnishment in July 2004.

The lawsuit against Pan Xinchun is considered an unprecedented case in Canadian judicial history. Renowned Canadian International Human Rights lawyer David Matas once commented that if diplomats or consular officials spread hatred, once the words come out of their mouths or go into print, they will be subject to prosecution.

There has been a lot of talk on the Internet lately that since Jiang has stepped down, the new leadership in the Party is moving forward with discussions of lifting the ban on Falun Gong. Jiang Zemin proposed that lifting the ban should follow the way from the Cultural Revolution--kill a group of police officers to appease people's indignation.

Sources report that the lifting of the ban will indeed happen. The focal point of current discussions is how to clear the name of Falun Gong. High-ranking officials in Beijing organized some people to read and study all of the Falun Gong books and believe that Falun Gong's principle of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" can be very useful to resolve social conflicts and crises.

Falun Gong practitioners commented that in the past five years, out of his personal interests, Jiang issued a directive to "defame their reputation, bankrupt them financially, destroy them physically" in order to try to eradicate Falun Gong. Their actions have been documented by human rights organizations as well as the Falun Gong practitioners. If they truly want to lift the ban, they must hold the chief perpetrators responsible, instead of a group of scapegoats.

Ms. Zhang said, "Falun Gong practitioners demand a list of perpetrators be brought to justice. Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Liu Jing and Zhou Yongkang are foremost in the list, but others who are still participating in persecution, including police officers, '610 Office' personnel, consulate staff, and special agents--all of these people will be unable to escape from their chosen fates."

Falun Gong practitioners generally believed that Jiang Zemin started the persecution and lies to justify it, leading to many people to bear hatred and fear against Falun Gong's principle "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" and Falun Gong practitioners who follow those principles. You reap what you sow - those who spread hatred will definitely meet with disaster themselves.

(Clearwisdom.net) From November 1 to 4, 2004, about 50 inspectors of Taiwan's Medium and Small Bank Inspection Office came to the dining hall to learn Falun Gong. What motivated them to learn Falun Gong after a long day's work? It was because they saw the beneficial changes in the chief inspector after he began practicing Falun Gong.

Chief Inspector Mr. Wang started to practice Dafa in February this year. Before practicing, his health condition was poor, including anxiety, insomnia, allergies and lower back pain. He needed three massages per week, which cost him a lot of money. Under the recommendation of Dr. Hu Naiwen, Mr. Wang participated in the 9-day Dafa seminar. Later he joined group study of Dafa books and practicing the exercises. His health improved considerably. His lower back pain and allergies have disappeared. His insomnia, which he'd suffered for years, was gone. Before practicing, he would put a hand on his lower back when he spoke. Now he stands upright and has a strong spirit. Dr. Hu said jokingly, "Now I meet Mr. Wang in group study. I have lost a patient."

In the past, as inspectors checked for wrongdoing, they were considered to be the most unwelcome. After learning Dafa, the Chief inspector found that he seldom lost his temper and thinks about others when discussing with colleagues about checking for wrongdoing. His suggestions are pleasant and easily accepted. He now thinks about how to help his associates to incorporate the principles of Falun Dafa's "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance" in their daily work.

Mr. Wang's driver observed that the chief inspector participated in two group studies every week, however busy he was. He was very attentive in his practice of Falun Gong. The driver was so moved that he participated in 9-day learning session himself. After the third day, he did not enjoy smoking anymore and realized that it was a good opportunity to quit. After the 9-day session, he went for a pre-scheduled physical examination. He and his doctor were surprised at the results - all of the indicators except blood pressure had become normal.

The inspectors' health had been spotty due to intense work pressure and traveling around to do inspections. Seeing Mr. Wang and his driver's positive changes, the inspectors were interested in Falun Gong and wanted to know more. During the four days in which all the inspectors returned to headquarters, Mr. Wang contacted practitioners to teach them Falun Gong. More than 40 inspectors learned the practice after work. People in other departments heard of the beneficial change and also requested a workshop.

Though the class time was short, everyone benefited a lot. Some colleagues said that they had a sound sleep or good appetite. Some said they felt relaxed in their entire body and were in good spirits.

The chief inspector told me two days later that he was glad so many colleagues had a good response. They planned to come early in the morning to practice together and buy books.

(Clearwisdom.net) On November 7, 2004, the Changhua County Artists Association invited the Tianyin (meaning "sound of heaven") Chorus to perform at the 7^th Community Art Festival. The Tianyin Chorus' members are all Falun Gong practitioners. When they arrived at the site, they first helped the organizers to set up the hall and then demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises on the plaza peacefully and serenely.

There is a story behind why the Artists Association invited the Tianyin Chorus. The members of the Artists Association were invited to the opening ceremony of the "Chinese Contemporary Traditional Paintings and Calligraphy Show" hosted by the Epoch Times newspaper. The beautiful dances and graceful songs made a strong impression on them, so they invited Falun Gong practitioners to attend this art festival.

Falun Gong practitioners first presented the audience with a performance that included poems, piano music, songs and traditional Chinese music, as well as stories of practitioners' cultivation experiences woven into the music. Next, the Tianyin Chorus performed the "Falun Dafa Hao Symphonic Anthem." This work was composed by Belgian composer Peter Ritzen. The musician wanted to raise awareness of the persecution of Falun Gong in China. The moving and tragic song deeply moved the audience.

Some residents watched the performance from the entrance of the hall. Perhaps some of them also sensed the sincerity and solemnity in the song and felt the beauty of Falun Dafa, and they asked about where to learn Falun Gong after the performance. Among them was a girl who heard about Dafa and the performance from a teacher at her school and came to ask for information. A secretary in the community also heard of the performance from a practitioner and took a truth-clarification CD.

When the activities were ending, the Falun Gong practitioners thanked the organizers. The organizing unit also thanked the practitioners for their performance. The general secretary warmheartedly led the practitioners to the calligraphy table and asked the calligraphy artist to write the characters, "Truthfulness Compassion Forbearance," for them. The director and staff members at the art center assured practitioners that during the art exhibition, they would have Falun Gong introductory materials available to help more people learn about Falun Dafa.

At the end of August 2004, Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Jiao Guofeng and Ms. Xuan Zhaoru from Yushu City, Jilin Province were arrested at an Internet Caf¨¦, and sent to a detention center. Soon after, the Yushu City Political and Security Office Head Zhang Deqing ransacked Ms. Xuan's home, beat her child, and tried to detain her family. Police took their VCR, computer, house title certificate, bank deposit books and cash. Police tortured Ms. Xuan when interrogating her. She was sentenced to eighteen months in a labor camp, despite significant efforts by the family to avoid the sentence. Ms. Xuan is being tortured both psychologically and physically in the labor camp at this time.

At 9 p.m. on March 1, 2004, Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Cao Pingyuan and Ms. Luo Taihui's homes were ransacked by Wang Bin (male) from the Dexing Town "610 Office" and policeman Lei Xuewu, respectively. Both Mr. Cao and Ms. Luo were arrested and interrogated. They did not cooperate with the police, but kept clarifying the truth about the persecution to them. Both were later released. Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Zhang Shishu from Kuifeng Township and Ms. Deng Wanying from Jie Village were both arrested on March 5, 2004. Their homes were ransacked and they were sentenced to two years in the Nanmusi Labor Camp. Retired Kuifeng Elementary School teacher, Ms. Zhao Zhaoquan, was arrested by local policeman Gan Yong and personnel from the Luzhou City "610 Office" on September 27, 2004, when visiting a fellow practitioner in Yutang Town, Luzhou City. No one knows her situation at this time.

In 1966, when I was participating in the construction of the Chengkun Railway Station, I was suddenly afflicted with an acute case of gastritis. After that, it turned into a chronic stomach illness. In 1973, after my company transferred me back to Beijing, even though I have received many treatments from different aspects, my illness didn't get better. During that period of time, I went through a lot of medical exams. However, my illness became even worse. My condition went from gastritis to atrophying gastritis and then developed to a gastro duodenal ulcer. In addition, at the left side of my stomach, there was a hard lump that was bigger than a banana, causing me pain from time to time. It was said that there was no special treatment for atrophying gastritis. As a result, I was getting more and more worried.

For many years, I couldn't buy meals from our company's cafeteria. Every day at lunch, I had to bring some form of gruel or flour-based food. My stomach was so sensitive that I couldn't have any cold or hard food. I could not get hungry or I would get severe stomach pains. As a result, my face appeared yellowish and I became very skinny and weak. I had to go to hospitals on a frequent basis. I took a lot of both Chinese and western medicines. Still, I did not see much difference.

In 1993, I retired. I made up my mind to seriously treat my illness. During one year, I had over 170 batches of Chinese herb medicines. I didn't stop even during the hottest part of the summer. My wife prepared medicine for me in the heat. Everyday I held a jar containing the bitter medicine and forced myself to drink it, but still it didn't resolve the illness at the root.

At the beginning of 1996, when I had basically given up hope, through a friend's introduction, I was fortunate enough to learn Falun Dafa. After I seriously read Master Li's Zhuan Falun, I gradually came to understand what genuine cultivation meant. After one week of doing the exercises, one day, I found that the hard lump in my stomach became soft. A few days later, I couldn't even feel that hard lump, which was bigger than a banana. After I started practicing, I didn't need to take any more medicine. All kinds of symptoms in my stomach disappeared. What great encouragement this has brought to my family and me! Since then, I dare to eat rice, pancakes, fruit, and even ice cream. My face, which had been yellowish, became rosy. I began to put on weight, and I felt more and more energetic. My friends and neighbors frequently commented on the changes in me that they could see.

Not long after I started practicing Falun Gong, my stomach disease of 30 years was eliminated. I have to admit that it is truly a miracle! What most impressed me was Master Li's emphasis on cultivation and improvement of one's xinxing (mind nature, moral character). Only by continually improving our moral standard and spiritual realm, attaching less importance on personal fame and self-interest, getting rid of all kinds of bad thoughts, unnecessary worries, keeping a peaceful and serene state of mind, can a person truly achieve mental and physical health.

(Clearwisdom.Net December 19. 2001) I was born in one of the major cities in Northern China. During the first year when China's college admission exam was re-instated, I entered the Chinese Department of a Teacher Training College. I graduated in 1982, and started to do editing and reporting work in one of the newspapers in the capital city of a province. In 1985, I accepted a reporter's position from a newspaper in a city in southern China.

My relationship with Falun Dafa started from the beginning of May 1999. At that time I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma and went back to my hometown to get medical treatment. I was hospitalized in the medical school's hospital. The big toe of my right foot was amputated. After the surgery, a Falun Dafa practitioner introduced Master's audiotapes and the book Zhuan Falun to me. I started to listen to Master's lecture while lying in bed. When I could sit up, I would read Zhuan Falun. After I went back home, I started to attend the morning practice and Fa study with the practitioners nearby. Within half a month, I got rid of my walking stick and wheelchair, and could walk by myself. The third day after I began to practice, I saw the golden and red Falun rotating in the sky. My body was getting better everyday, and I felt that Falun Dafa was indeed as magical as what the veteran practitioners told me. I felt more confident in my cultivation in Falun Dafa. Soon with other practitioners' encouragement, I could do the sitting meditation exercise in the full lotus position for as long as half an hour, and my mind nature improved too.

After I practiced for less than 3 months, on July 20, 1999 Jiang's regime started persecuting Falun Dafa on a large scale. All kinds of deceptive propaganda were broadcasted by the state-run media. As a new practitioner who had just started, I was confused. I was overwhelmed and deceived by the propaganda, and for a time I gave up practicing Falun Dafa.

During the two years and three months that I gave up Falun Dafa, the malignant melanoma ravaged my body. I again underwent chemotherapy and other forms of treatment. However, in February 2000, I found another tumor in the groin of my right leg, where one tumor had already been removed. I went back home and had the second surgery, and had the lymph nodes removed. I also underwent treatments to prevent the melanoma from spreading. I got a melanoma shot imported from Japan and another shot imported from Germany, undergoing the latter treatment for a year. In March 2001, I started to feel nauseated all the time, and my body felt very uncomfortable. After a physical examination in the hospital, it was found that my adrenal gland, left lung, and leg all had tumors spreading in them. The biggest one was 10 cm by 10 cm. So I went to Beijing and Shanghai at the end of May for help. Famous hospitals like the Shanghai Cancer Hospital, Huashan Hospital, the Second Military Medical School, Beijing 307 Hospital, and the Beijing Cancer Hospital all determined that my late stage cancer was incurable.

In the middle of June, I pulled my weary body back home and underwent some biological treatments, and at the same time took and applied medicine from the Traditional Chinese Medicine Cancer Research Center. However, since August my body had been extremely weak, and I could not take that treatment any more. I had to end the biological and chemical treatment, and went home to take the traditional Chinese medicine. In a few months, my body weight decreased from 80 kilograms to 50. Gradually, because of constant omitting, I could not take the traditional Chinese medicine either. I had to depend on morphine and other drugs to ease the pain, and depended on amino acid and liquid nourishment to sustain my life. I stayed in bed all day long and could barely turn my body.

On October 24, the day before my 44th birthday, my life had almost reached the end, and my whole family was in deep sorrow. My 80-year-old father held me and cried loudly. I was thinking, why did this happen when I was so young? My daughter was less than 1 year old, and I had to leave my old father, my wife, my daughter and my siblings, as well as the life and career that I was so fond of? Why did people have to come to the world? Why did they have to leave in such suffering? This led me to remember Falun Dafa, which I had practiced before.

In the materials a practitioner sent to me, I found some articles written by those knowledgeable specialists talking about the relationship between the life sciences and karma. I was inspired and thought, with the last few days in my life, I should clear up my questions and try to find the true meaning of life. At that point, I had no other intention but to explore the truth of life. During those two years that I was deceived by the propaganda, I said things that I shouldn't have and even blamed Dafa and Master, but at that point I didn't have any desire to obtain anything from Dafa. I just thought that if in the future the facts proved Dafa really was the truth of the universe, I would not have a chance to find it again after I died. Therefore, I wanted to use the last moments of my life to read Master's Zhuan Falun again.

As I held this Dafa with a true heart, my heart suddenly shook intensely and my whole body started to grow many small red pimples. They were so itchy that I scratched all over. After the red pimples disappeared, I realized that Master was cleaning up my body. Afterwards I started to vomit a lot of bitter black liquid. I decided that no matter how much time I still had left, I would use it to cultivate in Falun Dafa. That same night, I started to eat again. The painkiller shots were reduced from every 2 hours to every 5 hours.

The next day when I was reading Zhuan Falun, I again saw golden, pink and red Falun rotating in the book. I was amazed that even after everything, Master still was watching over me. I felt that no human words could express Master's mercy. I was rid of the 12 painkiller shots daily and the need to sustain myself through infusions. On October 25, on my 44-year-old birthday, I came back to the golden path of cultivating Falun Dafa.

I deeply understand that every day after that day was given to me by Falun Dafa and Master. I had to cherish the rekindled life, hold myself to the highest standards of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance" and be a genuine practitioner. Seeing that I no longer needed the painkillers and eating regularly again, everyone said, "Falun Dafa is too magical. This is unbelievable." My housekeeper, who took care of my daughter and me, saw the changes and told everyone she met about my case. As a result of this amazing transformation, the people around me started to change, too. Those who had believed the state-run media's lies started to question them, and others who had been ambivalent started to get truth-clarifying materials. Some even started to practice Falun Dafa themselves.

On November 25, 2001, it has been a full month after my new life began. I want to write down the changes I have experienced during this month. I want to use my extended life in this month to validate Falun Dafa and tell those sentient beings that have been deceived that I am a living example of how amazing and wonderful Falun Dafa is.

(Clearwisdom.net) The brutal persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners at the Beijing Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp prompted many practitioners within China and overseas to telephone the camp to explain the truth about Falun Dafa and the persecution. The increase in phone calls made the staff of the labor camp very nervous. On October 29, 2004 the direct-dial phone lines in the administrative offices and each division were deactivated. Now, all phone calls have to be routed through a switchboard. The labor camp officials thought they could use this method to prevent the police officers from learning the truth about Falun Dafa, but their effort was in vain.

To the officials' surprise, the deactivation of the direct phone lines caused a stir among the policemen. They were wondering: the authorities always advocate using advanced technology, so why did they go back to using an obsolete system, a switchboard? The officials always said that they trust the police officers. So, why don't they allow the officers to make or receive phone calls?

Ms. Liu Dan and Mr. Zhou used to live on the Luowang Garden Ranch in Yueyang City, Hunan Province. They were married in January 2004 and were arrested at the end of May. At that time, they were doing business and exposing the persecution in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province. They were sentenced to three years and two and half years of forced labor, respectively.

Ms. Liu Dan (also known as Liu Meiling) was imprisoned in Zhuzhou City Baimalong Forced Labor Camp (a.k.a. the Hunan Province Women's Forced Labor Camp). She refused to wear signs and would not stand up and answer when being called. The guards cuffed her hands behind her back, hung her up with the handcuffs on for many days and wouldn't let her sleep. They denied her use of the toilet and asked the imprisoned drug abusers to scrub her body with hard brushes, and to "shower her." She had bloody stripes all over and her legs and feet were severely swollen.

According to Ms. Liu Dan, she had not had her period for five months and wanted to eat some citrus fruit. A kind prisoner gave her oranges to eat. She often vomited and had apparent signs of pregnancy. However, the clinic in the forced labor camp insisted that she was not pregnant and wouldn't allow her to have any examinations done at an outside hospital. This labor camp has a record of making 7-8 month pregnant prisoners have drug-induced abortions. We are very concerned about Liu's current situation.

On October 22, 2004, police officers from both the Dehui City Public Safety Bureau and the Yangshu Town Police Station drove to Ms. Wang Di's home in Heiyu Village, Yangshu Town. They threatened Wang's family to turn her in.

Ms. Wang used to work in Dehui City and rented an apartment there. On the afternoon of April 10, 2004, Officer Ge Xuquan and other officers from the Dehui City Political Security Division went to arrest her and caused her to fall from the fifth floor. Ms. Wang was seriously injured. The provincial hospital, after seeing her twice, diagnosed that she had compression fractures in her first and fourth lumbar vertebrae and segmental fractures in both of her tibias. The hospital announced her to be permanently disabled. The Dehui City Public Safety Bureau sent Wang home to avoid responsibility if anything happened to her. After she got home, she was immobile on the bed and couldn't take care of her daily needs. She continued to have faith in Teacher and Dafa and insisted on reading Falun Gong books and doing the exercises. In less than three months, she recovered from her injuries. The villagers in the neighborhood who witnessed this were amazed.

After the officers from Dehui City learned about this, they wanted to arrest Wang again. They did not succeed the first time and left. However, they came back after 4 p.m. and broke into her house, but couldn't find her. The police ransacked her home from top to bottom.

On the evening of October 28, 2004, practitioner Li Dezhen was arrested in Beijing while clarifying the truth. Li was arrested when he went to the Beijing Station to pick up a relative.

The police arrested Mr. Li Shoudong, Tan Jianping, Zhu Yuehua, and Ms. Wang in Weifang City, Shandong Province, when they were clarifying the truth. Li Shoudong is currently imprisoned in the Kuiwen District Prison.

On the afternoon of October 21, 2004, officers from the Weifang City Public Safety Bureau in the Kuiwen District Division, Wang Jun from the Beiwan Police Station, and the director of the Beiwan Resident Committee broke open the secured door of Li Shoudong's apartment. They kicked open the inside door. They pushed Li's wife onto the sofa and ransacked the entire house. They confiscated all of the Dafa materials, books and Teacher's pictures. One of the officers smashed Teacher's image on the floor. The police also confiscated household properties of the other practitioners arrested. The details are under investigation.

5. [Zhaoyang County, Liaoning Province] Police Arrests Ms. Sun Qingxia

Officer Yang Qingli and two other officers from the Dapingfang Town Police Station in Zhaoyang County, Liaoning Province broke into practitioner Ms. Sun Qingxia's home on October 15, 2004. The police did not identify themselves and wanted to take Sun away, who was more than 50 years old. Sun's son saw this and asked the police to let go of his mother. Sun's brother-in-law rushed over to Sun's house and asked angrily, "What are you doing? Do you have an arrest warrant?" One young officer felt guilty and let go of Sun. Officer Yang Qingli raised his voice and picked a fight with Sun's brother-in-law. The police couldn't take Sun away and called for more police from the Dapingfang Police Station to come in support. Other police arrived and, again without showing their IDs, took Sun away, her son and her brother-in-law. Sun is currently imprisoned in the Zhaoyang City Shijiahetao Prison. Her son and brother-in-law were released.

Sun Qingxia was imprisoned numerous times. The police from Dapingfang Town, Zhaoyang County frequently harassed her at home. Sun had no choice but to leave home to avoid the harassment and had nowhere to stay. She was working during the harvest season in a village and again was arrested. She left a mentally disabled son at home with no one to take care of him.

Practitioner Mr. Pu Xinjun lived in room 602, unit 2, building no. 37, Changchun First District, Ranghu Road, Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province. Police from the Ranghu Road Public Safety Bureau arrested Pu in November 2003 and took him to the Suihua Forced Labor Camp. Pu has not returned since.

Pu left behind a 12-year-old daughter and his wife. Now they live very difficult lives. Pu's work place (Jinhua Resin Factory of the Drill Technology Company) hasn't paid for the heating in Pu's house for two years. In the winter, the house is as cold as a freezer.

Zhang Yongqi, an elementary school teacher from Yushi Village, Huanghuadian Township, Wuqing District, Tianjin City was arrested on March 29, 2004 for clarifying the truth to the students. The Wuqing National Security Brigade together with Lan Cheng, a police officer from the Huanghuadian Police Station, made students put their fingerprints on a prepared accusation statement against Zhang. Two of the students even put down their fingerprints 14 times! The Wuqing District Court sentenced Zhang Yongqi to three years in Tianjin City Gangbei Prison's fifth unit in September 2004.

Practitioner Mr. Fan Jianming was imprisoned in the Gangbei Prison's fifth unit. Fan refused to turn against Falun Gong and the captain Zhang Shihe denied him of family visits for a year or more.

In September 2004, Sun Shujie and three other practitioners from Shuangyashan City went to Beijing to validate Dafa and were arrested. They are now imprisoned in the Jiamusi Railroad Prison.

On October 18, 2004, police officers arrested Wang Junhong, who is from Youyi County, Shuangyashan City and detained him in the Shuangyashan City Prison. The arresting officers were Yao Xiaoguang from the National Security Seventh Division and Du Zhanyi from the "610 Office." On October 19, Wang Youlin and other officers from the Changan Police Station confiscated Wang Junhong's household property.

Zhai Xianyong is from Zhangqiu City, Shandong Province. Police from the Gaoguanzhai Town Police Station arrested him for distributing truth-clarifying materials in Gaoguanzhai Town on October 23 and 24, 2004, and was detained in Zhangqiu City Prison. Phone numbers of responsible parties:

Police arrested Ms. Shan Zhiying and Mr. He Peikang, an elderly couple from Beijing's Shijingshan District, and took them back to Beijing in early October. This couple had to leave home to avoid further persecution in 2001 and were caught in their hometown of Hangzhou City. They are currently imprisoned in a brainwashing center.

Ms. Fu Xiaoqin used to work at a light bulb factory in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province. She was sentenced to three years of labor reform for distributing truth-clarifying materials.

Ms. Jiang Lanying is 38 years old and is from Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province. She went out to clarify the truth to people and hang up banners on July 11, 2002. Someone reported her to the police, who arrested her and sentenced her to 5 years in prison. Jiang firmly believed in Falun Dafa and refused to compromise and to be transformed. She started a hunger strike the day she was arrested, and the police brutally force-fed her. She is now in the hospital of Changling Forced Labor Camp in Xinjian County, Nanchang City. According to a witness, Jiang was tortured severely and was emaciated.

A young practitioner from Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province went to Beijing to validate Dafa at the end of 2000. The Beijing police arrested the practitioner and burned her neck with an electric baton. The burn scars were obvious and the police claimed that it was because of a necklace they forced her to wear.

A 50-year-old practitioner in Nanchang City was imprisoned in the Nanchang City Second Prison. She refused to give up Falun Gong and wrote, "Falun Dafa is great" on the wall of her prison cell. The police tied her right hand to her left leg with a very short iron chain and did the same with her left hand and right leg. The iron chains were so short that she had to bend forward with her hands crisscrossed. She couldn't eat, sleep, or use the toilet. She had to stay in that position on the floor for many days in the winter of 2000.

A young practitioner went to Beijing in the winter of 2000 to validate Dafa and was taken to Daxing County, Beijing. The local police chained the practitioner on a tree and left the practitioner there for three days without food or sleep during the coldest time of the year.

The practitioners in the first brigade of the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp protested the persecution with a hunger strike. Eight practitioners were on hunger strikes for five days and five other practitioners are still on hunger strike.

In mid-September, China Network Communications' correspondent company in Dalian City, Liaoning Province, took the opportunity of the company's going public to lay off two practitioners with outstanding performance at their work, Mr. Zhang Guoyu and Ms. Shen Lian (husband and wife). The couple was listed as the least competent employees (only because they are practitioners, despite the fact that they had outstanding performance in the company) and were forced to leave their jobs because they practiced "Truth, Compassion, Tolerance." Currently they have no income and can't afford daily expenses.

Ms. Zhang Guizhen is from Guanshan Village, Wuchang City, Hubei Province. On the morning of September 3, 2004, the police lied to Zhang and took her to the Guanshan Village Brigade. Xu Lian'guo, a member of the village commission, and other police officers arrested her. She is now being held at the Wuhan City Yangyuan Brainwashing Center.

Police arrested practitioner Ms. Zhao Jianjuan on Songbo Road, Dehui City, on the morning of October 22, 2004. The police tortured them with brutal means and forced Zhan and the other practitioner to fall from the third floor. They were taken to an emergency room at a local hospital.

At 11 a.m. on October 22, 2004, an information station in Gaizhou City, Liaoning Province, was broken into. There was a senior practitioner inside at the time, and the practitioner was trapped there for one day before being arrested. The people that participated in the arrest were Li (given name unknown) from the Gaizhou City office in Dongcheng, person(s) from the Gaizhou City National Security Brigade, and a shoe repairman (this person was an informer who lives downstairs).

Luo Gan went to Weifang City, Shandong Province in mid October 2004, and called a meeting on suppressing Falun Gong. Since October 14, six practitioners have been kidnapped to a brainwashing center. These practitioners are Li Hengnan, Ms. Zhang Yufang, Ms. Zhang Huiping, Ms. Jiang Xiuying (left the center with her righteous thoughts), Wang Yiping, and Ms. Guo Li.

At the end of 1999, police from the "610 Office" arrested practitioner Mr. Zhang, who now doesn't have a place to stay. In the process of the interrogation, the deputy director of the Shuangcheng City Public Safety Bureau Zhang Guofu, who was also the head of the "610 Office," smacked the practitioner solidly on his ear. Practitioner Zhang felt extreme pain in his ear, eyes and head. Twenty days later, there was blood and blood clots coming out of his ear. Even now, his hearing has markedly diminished.

In the fall of 2001, Mr. Ba Yumin and another practitioner went to a village to distribute truth-clarifying materials and were arrested and jailed. During this time, Zhang Guofu ordered that Ba was not to have any sleep. Police took turns interrogating him 24 hours a day. There were four people each shift and each shift lasted 6 hours. The police tortured him physically and mentally in trying to find out the source of the materials.

(Clearwisdom.net) A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."
