News from Malaysia: The Malaysian Falun Dafa Research and Training Center was officially established in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur on November 1, 2003. The process of preparing an application for the Research and Training Center was a process not only of broad truth-clarification to the Malaysian people and local communities, but also of resistance to interference from the evil.

About 6 months ago, Malaysian Falun Gong practitioners handed in to the local registrar an application to establish the Malaysia Falun Dafa Association, along with a draft of the association's charter. There was no reply from the registrar for a long time afterwards. After an inquiry, practitioners learned that the Chinese Embassy had pressured Malaysian officials, who then worried that approval of the application might negatively affect the relationship between China and Malaysia. Thus, the application was suspended.

This motivated Malaysia Falun Gong practitioners to seize this opportunity to launch an in-depth truth-clarification of Falun Gong to the local communities, to the people, and to the concerned organization. They exposed the brutal persecution of Falun Gong by Jiang's regime, and broadly spread the fact that Jiang has been sued and condemned all over the world for persecuting Falun Gong. Practitioners gained support from lawyers who had learned the truth of Falun Gong. Several months ago, they again handed in the application to establish the Malaysian Falun Dafa Research and Training Center. Because the establishment of the Falun Dafa Research and Training Center was consistent with the "freedom of assembly" granted by the constitution of Malaysia, the application was approved.

After the official establishment of the Malaysia Falun Dafa Research and Training Center, the 2003 Inaugural Malaysia Experience-Sharing Conference was held in Kuala Lumpur on November 23, 2003.

53-year-old Ms. Liu Tongling was tortured to death in Heilongjiang Provinceí s capital city, Harbin. She is one of 132 Falun Gong practitioners that have been killed in the northeastern province.

NEW YORK (FDI) C 132 deaths of Falun Gong practitioners in Heilongjiang Province have been verified since the spiritual practice was ordered í^oeradicatedí by former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin in 1999. Of the 824 total verified deaths of Falun Gong practitioners throughout the country, Chinaí s most northeastern province, Heilongjiang, accounts for approximately 16% C the highest of any province.

Hundreds of reports from China over the last four years indicate arbitrary detention, brainwashing and torture are wide-spread in Heilongjiang.

Heilongjiangí s former Communist Party Secretary, Xiu Youfang, and former Governor, Tian Fengshan, are known to have taken a hard-line approach in adopting Jiangí s persecutory policies toward Falun Gong, according to Heilongjiang sources. Both officials have since been removed from their posts on apparently unrelated corruption charges.

The next highest death tolls are found in Heilongjiangí s neighboring provinces of Jilin and Liaoning, each of which account for 11% of the total verified deaths. Shandong Province has also recorded 11% of the total verified deaths, with Hebei Province at 10% and Beijing at 7%.

Approximately 75% of the total verified deaths were caused by torture and/or severe beatings, while 10% were due to forced-feeding. The remaining cases include mysterious circumstances where individuals die in mental hospitals after being injected with unknown drugs or mysteriously í^ofallí from the upper floors of buildings while in police custody.

Some Chinese Government sources indicate the true death toll could be between 4,000 and 10,000.

Two Recent Deaths in Heilongjiang

53-year-old Ms. Liu Tongling lived in Chengsan Village of Rang District in Daqing City. On September 12, 2003, Liu was detained at the Harbin City Drug Rehabilitation Center after authorities discovered she practiced Falun Gong. Such í^orehabilitation centersí are often, in reality, used to detain, torture, and hold brainwashing í^oclassesí for Falun Gong practitioners.

One month later, on October 12, Liu died in the Rehabilitation Center.

Sources familiar with this case say Liu was tortured continuously until two days before her death. Liuí s family, who examined her body, said it was covered with bruises and there were electric burn marks on her chest. Electric shock batons, also known as cattle prods are a common torture tool of the Chinese police.

66-year-old Mr. Li Ruqing was a retired worker from the Shangyashan City Mine Bureau of Heilongjiang Province. On October 7, 2002, he was arrested while distributing flyers about Falun Gong. Li was subsequently sentenced to seven years in prison and sent to the Mudanjiang Prison. On October 9, 2003, Li was tortured to death in the prison and his body was cremated shortly thereafter.

Background

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa (about), is a practice of meditation and exercises with teachings based on the universal principle of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance." It is a practice that was taught in private for thousands of years before being made public in 1992 by Mr. Li Hongzhi. Falun Gong has roots in traditional Chinese culture, but it is distinct and separate from other practices such as the religions of Buddhism and Taoism. Since its introduction in 1992, it quickly spread by word of mouth throughout China, and is now practiced in over 50 countries.

With government estimates of as many as 100 million practicing Falun Gong, China's Communist leader Jiang Zemin outlawed the peaceful practice in July 1999 (report), fearful of anything touching the hearts and minds of more citizens than the Communist Party. Unable to crush the spirit of millions who had experienced improved health and positive life changes from Falun Gong, Jiang's regime has intensified its propaganda campaign to turn public opinion against the practice while quietly imprisoning, torturing and even murdering those who practice it. To that end, Jiang established the í^o6-10 Office,í a Gestapo-like agency spanning from the Central Government to the local governments. The United States Congress has described the í^o6-10 Officeí as an agency charged with í^ooverseeing the persecution of Falun Gong members through organized brainwashing, torture, and murder.í (news)

The Falun Dafa Information Center has verified details of 824 deaths (reports / sources) since the persecution of Falun Gong in China began in 1999. In October 2001, however, Government officials inside China reported that the actual death toll was well over 1,600. Expert sources now estimate that figure to be much higher. Hundreds of thousands have been detained, with more than 100,000 being sentenced to forced labor camps, typically without trial.

(Clearwisdom.Net) Mr. Li Qingzhou, 55 years old, was a practitioner from Hua County in Shannxi Province. He went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in March 2000. He was arrested and forcibly returned to Shannxi Province, where he was sentenced to a one-year term in a forced labor camp.

After he was released from the labor camp, he suffered a lot of brutal persecution by the local police. In July 2002, he was violently removed from his child's home and taken to Tieyiju Detention Center. He was then sentenced to a two-year term in a forced labor camp. When he was sent to the labor camp, he was found to have high blood pressure during a health checkup. As a result, the labor camp refused to accept him.

He asked to be released on bail so that he could obtain medical treatment, but his application for release was declined by detention center authorities.

Around midnight November 29, 2002, he suddenly died in the detention center.

November 11, 2003

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Qian Fajun of Linxi City, Shandong Province, is a 30 year old Falun Gong practitioner. He was abducted in early 2003, by the local police in Lunan County and is currently being held at the Wang Village Forced Labour Camp (No. 2 Men's Forced Labour Camp of the province). He has been brutally tortured by the police for 2 months. During this time, he has endured all kinds of abuse, including electric shock torture, being forced to stand like a cross, balance on one leg, etc. Collaborators [Former Falun Gong practitioners who have turned against Dafa due to brainwashing and torture and now assist authorities in persecution of Falun Gong practitioners] also partook in torturing Mr. Qian and would not allow him to sleep. Additionally, he was viciously beaten by the police. They were afraid that they would be exposed for their violent and cruel treatment of Mr. Qian, so they beat him in a dark room. In the face of torture and persecution, with his body covered with cuts and bruises, and with his skin and flesh burned open by the electronic batons, Qian Fajun remained firm and never gave in to the pressure. In May, when the police were torturing the newly arrested practitioners, they shocked him again with electric baton until his flesh oozed pus from the infected sores.

Since September, Qian Fajun has been on hunger strike to protest the unjust treatment he has received. After he had been on hunger strike for a month, the police began force-feeding him. When they were done force-feeding him, they left the tube inside his body to cause him even more discomfort. As a result of Mr. Qian's continued resistance to the persecution, several of his front teeth have been knocked out by the police and collaborators. The collaborators used screwdrivers and pliers to force open his mouth, causing his mouth to bleed. Later, both of his arms were tied to a steel chair with his legs tied underneath the chair. Under this circumstance, he was still not allowed to sleep.

We appeal to all practitioners to strengthen their righteous thoughts to support Qian Fajun and to eliminate the old forces in other dimensions that are behind the persecution.

(Clearwisdom.net) Around 9 a.m. on November 18, 2003, Wuhan City Dongxihu District Court began to "try" four Dafa practitioners, Mr. Xu Jianjun, Mr. Xie Fengji, Mr. Liu Shuisheng, and Mr. Yu Ganghai, who had been illegally arrested by the No. 1 Section of Wuhan City Police Department.

Although the four Dafa disciples had suffered severe mental and physical torture and lost their freedom, they took the opportunity of the trial to expose the evil in a dignified manner, to speak out for justice, and to validate the goodness of Falun Dafa.

Liu Shuisheng recounted his own experience, telling that he had previously suffered from many illnesses and his legs had been paralyzed. After beginning to practice Falun Gong, he recovered from the illnesses and is able to walk normally. He effectively exposed the lies and validated the Fa with his own experience.

Yu Ganghai presented the fact that Dafa practitioners are good people everywhere to expose the crimes of Jiang's gang, who confuse right and wrong and try to ruin people's conscience. He also told the judge that it is not a crime for us Dafa practitioners to clarify the truth to people.

The four practitioners have been illegally detained for over eight months, and they had not been able to see their relatives for a long time. In the court, Liu Shuisheng was so thin that his body appeared to be deformed. People could hardly recognize him. Xu Jianjun, only 38 years old, could walk only with much difficulty as he appeared to be disabled..

(Clearwisdom.net) One year ago, when Falun Gong practitioners filed a lawsuit charging Jiang Zemin with genocide in the United States District Court of the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division, the general public was still discussing the symbolic meaning of such a lawsuit. Now one year later, with lawsuits against Jiang and his followers filed in various countries one after another, and with the recent establishment of the "Global Coalition to Bring Jiang to Justice," it has become more and more practical to bring Jiang to justice.

On the afternoon of November 22, a symposium initiated by the "Global Coalition to Bring Jiang to Justice" was held in the town hall of Montgomery County, Maryland. The attendees included the, "Greater Washington DC Area Overseas Chinese Association," Democracy activists, China experts, and Falun Gong practitioners. They discussed the purpose of bringing Jiang to justice, and the current condition of human rights in China, and issues related to China.

Attendees discussed the positive effect that bringing Jiang to justice may have on the human rights condition in China. People from the "Greater Washington DC Area Overseas Chinese Association" specifically listed the crimes that Jiang Zemin has committed over his 13-year rule in China. Some of his crimes include: suppressing freedom; persecuting religious belief; attacking political dissidents; manipulating the media; blocking the Internet; depriving people of their right to know relevant information; ceding national land to Russia; staging the so-called Tiananmen Square Self-immolation incident to frame Falun Gong; attempting to force the Hong Kong government to enact Article 23; trampling on the human rights of Hong Kong people; harboring corruption; etc. In other words, Jiang is unfit to represent China or the Chinese nation.

On September 12, 2003, the United States District Court of the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division dismissed the lawsuit against Jiang under pressure from the US government. The reason given was that Jiang can enjoy head of state immunity. In response to this, Falun Gong filed an appeal to a higher court. At the same time, lawsuits against Jiang are being filed in other countries one after another. More and more organizations and individuals have joined efforts in suing Jiang. In the past week alone, Jiang was sued in Taiwan and Germany. There has never been a head of state in history who has been sued so many times. On November 17, over 10,000 practitioners in Taiwan held a sit-in appeal to support the lawsuit against Jiang. The lawsuits against Jiang filed by overseas Chinese seem to be blooming and nonstop.

Falun Gong practitioner and American Catholic University professor Nie Sen said, "I think the global campaign of suing Jiang agrees with many people's wishes, which is why in just four months, it received strong support from people in various countries all over the world. Many Chinese people sent emails from Mainland China to show their support. Because of the tremendous support, we are very optimistic that this lawsuit is now turning from a symbolic event to a more practical thing. We hope such a lawsuit can be filed in the land of China in the near future so we can bring Jiang to justice using the laws of China."

Nie Sen also said, "In addition to Jiang, many of his followers are also being sued in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. They include: "610" system director Li Lanqing, Luo Gan, politburo member Wu Guanzheng, former Beijing City Party Secretary Liu Qi, former Hubei Province Public Security Bureau Director Zhao Zhifei, Sichuan Province Party Secretary Zhou Yongkang, and Lt. governor of Liaoning Province Xia Deren. Some of them do not dare to respond to the lawsuit, and have been tried in absentia."

Human rights lawyer Ye Ning considers Falun Gong representative of the conscience of the Chinese nation. He thinks the understanding of the Falun Gong issue measures the consciences of intellectuals. At the same time, the values promoted by Falun Gong offer hope for the Chinese nation and all of humankind.

As a lawyer, Ye Ning also thinks the lawsuit against Jiang establishes a precedent of upholding justice and conscience, and has profound historical significance. He said, "After WWII, the biggest advancement in the development of jurisprudence was to enforce individual responsibility, that is, to place responsibility on individual Nazis, not allowing them to use í following orders' as an excuse to escape responsibility."

Ye Ning thinks it was inappropriate for the United States District Court of the Northern District of Illinois to dismiss the lawsuit on the grounds of head of state immunity. In a trial of a former leader of Panama, he was not granted head of state immunity. The lawsuits against many other former dictators should be the precedent for the lawsuit against Jiang.

Democracy activist Wei Jingsheng said, "We need to exert such pressure on Jiang and his followers. It is good for the human rights condition in China. We cannot just rely on western countries to help us. We must stand up to voice our concerns. If we do not speak out, then other people will think we do not care about the human rights condition in China."

Wang Nengxiang, who has been fighting for democracy for over 40 years in Taiwan, said, "The Chinese ruling party is deeply rooted in fear. Falun Gong is fighting for freedom. When this fight gets more and more support from the general public, China will become a country that respects human rights and the rule of law."

How do people in China view this sensitive issue of suing Jiang? Big Reference editor Li Hongkuan said, "Our readers email us expressing their opinions. Upon learning of the lawsuit, they are all very happy. But they are all wondering when this lawsuit will produce a positive result. My understanding is that people are all very happy to learn that Jiang is being sued."

(Clearwisdom.net) Minghui reporter Dong Na reports from Toronto: In the lawsuit against La Presse Chinoise for slandering Falun Gong, the Chinese language newspaper has emphasized that it enjoys freedom of speech, and the articles it published were "criticism" of Falun Gong. It also spoke as if it were the victim, saying, "Falun Gong doesn't accept criticism." Were the articles published on La Presse Chinoise criticism or slander? Our reporter interviewed several practitioners who filed the lawsuit against the Chinese newspaper.

Falun Gong practitioner Dai Gongyu in Canada gave an example in illustrating this case: A person is carrying a red purse and another person sees her and says, "Red is not a good color for you, you should carry a black purse." This can be called criticism. However, if this person says, "Why are you carrying a trash bag?" That would constitute slander, because it is not based on facts and damages another person's reputation and dignity.

The defendant's attorney asked Toronto practitioner Jason Loftus in court, "Shouldn't speeches and opinions completely different from yours be protected?" Jason answered, "Of course people have the right to have different opinions. People can have their own understanding of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance. However, if you spread rumors and say Falun Gong practitioners drink blood and kill people, that's not allowed, because they are not facts and this kind of slander hurts us Falun Gong practitioners. People can have different opinions based on the facts, but no one should instigate hatred."

Li Xiaoce, another Toronto practitioner used the example of the article written by He Bing published in La Presse Chinoise, "These words in La Presse Chinoise Eastern are completely vulgar curse words. Not everyone is able to use such base words. This is a most base and vulgar language. If we allow this kind of language to appear in the newspaper and to allow it to circulate in society, then we are actually disparaging the society and the country."

Li Xiaoce also said, "The slanderous language used in La Presse Chinoise Eastern is not criticism at all. It is not only slanderous and humiliating to the attacked, it is also slanderous and humiliating to all social groups. Therefore from the perspective of law and human dignity, La Presse Chinoise must take responsibility for it."

"Falun Gong practitioners' kind act of truth clarification was referred to as a í group attack' against the news agency. In order to prevent the filthy words from polluting society, Falun Gong practitioners bought newspapers with the slanderous article in them, cut out the article, and then gave the papers away for free. This act of theirs was referred to as í monopolizing.' The Chinese consulate officials attacked Falun Gong practitioners, yet they told the public the practitioners group attacked the consulate. The hatred-instigating words of the La Presse Chinoise completely replaced the truth with lies, and slanderously claimed that Falun Gong practitioners, who are kind people practicing Truth-Compassion-Tolerance, are thugs and fanatics." Falun Gong practitioner Zhou Limin said, "The methods used [by La Presse Chinoise Eastern] is a complete copy of the lie-spreading mechanisms employed by the Chinese government."

Practitioner Jason Loftus said in his witness account, "The author of the article published on La Presse Chinoise on November 3, 2001 claims to be a Falun Gong practitioner himself. He uses vulgar and malicious language to viciously attack Falun Dafa, its founder and Falun Gong practitioners. The article published on November 10, 2002, repeated the lies and propaganda used in Mainland China in an attempt to prove the correctness of the November 3rd article." What Jason considers the most dangerous is: "The February 2, 2002 article claims to seek 'justice and thinking for the future of society and the next generation,' and it publicly claimed Falun Gong should be eliminated in Canada." Jason said, "This is a complete copy of the Jiang regime's policy of persecution against Falun Gong.

Practitioner Wang Xueliang, who was beaten by Chinese consulate officials, said in court, "La Presse Chinoise intentionally used high-sounding phrases like 'for the Chinese race' and 'don't forget our children' in order to deceive people. These articles were also published in Mainland China. If you search carefully you will find that most websites in Mainland China published these slanderous articles. Moreover, La Presse Chinoise blatantly published these articles after the court had issued a safeguard order.

"In a totalitarian society, there is no freedom of speech; therefore people are more likely to believe in free media such as overseas newspapers. That's why it's more harmful to use the free media in the West to promote the persecution against Falun Gong."

Unbelievably, La Presse Chinoise ignores the fact that many Falun Gong practitioners benefited tremendously from practicing Falun Gong, and it exhausts all means to repeat the lies and propaganda originating from China that have been proven to be false. It even resorts to extremely vulgar and dirty language to slander Falun Gong, which in the end ruins the newspaper's own reputation. Who is supporting La Presse Chinoise behind the scenes? Li Xiaoce told our reporter that the head of La Presse Chinoise once told a Falun Gong practitioner, "In fact, this has nothing to do with me. They [the Chinese consulate officials] asked me to sit here [in court]." Li Xiaoce said, "As the head of a news agency, how can he say articles published in his newspaper have nothing to do with him? However, his words show that he is only a tool used by the consulate, and he has been placed here to work [for the Chinese government]."

In order to annihilate Falun Gong, Jiang Zemin created brainwashing classes in China to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their belief. In overseas countries, he tries to brainwash people through manipulating foreign governments and the media. Then he sends the overseas propaganda back to China to make the Chinese people feel the whole world is against Falun Gong.

Toronto practitioner Sun Dali used to work for the 30,000-employee Qingdao City's Haier Corporation in China. During the interview, he told the reporter that in early 2002, he saw articles written by Casey Lin (He Bing's pseudonym) published on many websites and media reports, and even on the bulletin board of his company. "My understanding is that all levels of government and companies received orders from the higher-ups, who ordered them to do so." Sun Dali said that such propaganda cannot always fool people who know modern China's history--especially people who have been through the Cultural Revolution--but it can deceive many inexperienced young people, especially students.

Shared at the 2003 Germany Falun Dafa Conference

(Clearwisdom.net) Hello! My name is Ira. I am from Saint Petersburg, Russia. I have been a Falun Gong practitioner since 1997.

I felt in my heart during the various stages of my cultivation path Master's deepest care and attention. I realize that Master guides us on our return to our true origin and to the truth through many trials. I can feel it especially deeply during this time. Master assists us in letting go of our attachments. He gives us one chance after the other. He protects us from falling down and being left behind. He guides us on the way we are supposed to take.

I understand that everything has been arranged exactly and perfectly during the Fa-rectification, be it large or small. Each practitioner has a different cultivation path. Master arranged our cultivation paths long ago. All we have to do is go forward steadily, without a detour, and do everything a Dafa disciple is supposed to do. Our part is of great importance, and our influence is also very significant. Looking back on the path we have already walked I notice that we have already done a lot of truth clarification preparation, and thus laid the groundwork for the main thrust at the later time.

For example: We have already clarified the truth about the incidences to the legislative agencies, including many of the departments within the Ministry of the Interior and the Security Agency. We believe we have done well, but one time we noticed a signpost with the name of a legislative agency not known to us. We made an appointment because we wanted to tell them about the true situation. Later we had a long conversation with the agency. We told them about Falun Gong and the persecution, and disclosed the lies the Chinese embassy is spreading throughout Russia. Lastly, we taught the exercises to one of the civil servants. We also gave him a book.

We recently celebrated the 300th birthday of Saint Petersburg. This particular agency was responsible for gathering security information for a safe holiday. Although the Chinese embassy alleged that Falun Gong would disturb the festivities and spread hatred against the Chinese government, these allegations didn't gain ground, as we had already clarified the truth to this agency. The civil servant to whom we gave the Falun Gong book was, during a meeting of the leading government employees, named the person responsible for the information-center. He spoke well about Falun Gong when the conversation was about Falun Gong. He told them that he had been in contact with us and that he knew us well.

Once, when protesting in front of the Chinese embassy, we clarified the true situation to the police chief. At a later date, when a high-ranking Chinese delegation came to visit Saint Petersburg, they were "received" at the airport by Dafa disciples. We showed the banners when the motorcade carrying the Chinese delegation passed us. At the beginning they believed us to be everyday people who came to welcome them. They waved. But as soon as they noticed the banner headlines "Falun Dafa" and "Zhen, Shan, Ren," their smiles disappeared and they stopped waving. Later on they asked the Russian police to grant them greater security and to make certain that they would not have to see Dafa disciples. The chief of police who escorted the Chinese delegation was none other than the one we had met outside the embassy. He told them that he knew us and was absolutely certain that we were good people and would not commit any bad deeds. The Chinese embassy told them that we were terrorists, and that we would harm their lives and breach security. Although he risked losing his job, the police chief told all of them, "I personally guarantee that no harm will come to you." We believe that there may have been some problems if the police chief hadn't spoken the way he did. Our telling him the true situation touched his heart. There are many more such examples.

Once we clarify the truth in one area, the evil in another area will also be eliminated. Thus, when Luo Gan visited Moldova, I also went there to clarify the truth. We had five days to clarify the truth. Thus we divided into different teams and clarified the truth to as many people as possible from early morning until late in the evening. Given our efforts, a large number of citizens heard the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong by the communist party, and thus saw the true face of murderer Luo Gan.

We began to clarify the truth the minute we were on the train to Moldova. We spent two nights on the train, and traversed three countries and custom stations. During that time we distributed a lot of truth-clarifying materials. We traveled to Moldova to let them know about the lawsuit against the head of the "610 Office," Luo Gan, and to spread the truth to save the Moldavians. We exposed to the media, the government, and the human rights organizations the brutal persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese communist party. I saw the lawsuit against Luo Gan in Moldova as a great opportunity to clarify the truth. I wanted to call forth an echo in the international community given the global lawsuit against the chief perpetrator and other Chinese communist functionaries, who also must bear responsibility for the persecution of Falun Gong. We did not pursue results of the lawsuit. Therefore, we were able to lodge our charges with the attorney general's office, the Department of Interior, and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Moldova. We consulted extensively with the human rights organizations, attorneys, legal professionals and the UNO representatives in Moldova before filing our complaint.

I always held the following thoughts when clarifying the truth to these people and seeking legal advice: "I will save people because of this event." It appears that they felt the same. They made a lot of effort to advise us with respect to our problems. They assisted us greatly as they held sympathy for our situation in their hearts. Everyone we spoke to took great efforts to help us.

We visited the senior prosecutor and the attorney's office three times before filing the complaint with the attorney general's office. When visiting him for the first time we discussed the legal problems of the lawsuit against Luo Gan in Moldova. He took great pains to listen carefully as we clarified the truth. He suggested who would be the best attorney to approach. At the end he said that it would be impossible to hear our complaint, as Moldova's people weren't persecuted. Furthermore, he could not remember any precedence addressing this particular issue. When we took our leave he said unexpectedly, "Come and see me, should you need help!"

We really were in need of his advice. We selected some attorneys who might be willing to accept the case. They studied the materials extensively and stated that the accusation could not be heard in Moldova. When saying farewell, the attorneys wished us good luck. On our first visit to the attorney general's office the senior public prosecutor suggested that we turn to the court of justice. At the end he repeated, "Come and see me, should you need help!" I saw that goodness overpowers evil. I felt during each of our approaches the awakening of his compassion.

The judge at the highest court of justice listened to the truth and suggested we again contact the attorney general's office. During our third meeting with the senior public prosecutor I continued to send righteous thoughts to awaken his compassionate side. We wanted him to understand that we did not do this for ourselves, but only to save him. We were convinced that this suit should be heard in Moldova. It is imperative for a democratic country like Moldova, who upkeeps human rights [to officially take a stand]. We are fully aware of the implication if our case is heard C it means that Moldova recognizes Luo Gan's guilt. The senior public prosecutor accepted and signed our case. We are fully aware that this was only possible because of cooperation among all participating Dafa practitioners. We are also sure that Master guided us and we did what we were supposed to do.

Dafa practitioners' joint truth clarification throughout the world was highly influential toward the result of our efforts. I continuously feel their support and participation. Our fellow practitioners sending truth clarification materials through facsimile and Internet was of great help. The first published article, exposing the persecution of Falun Gong by the communist regime and Luo Gan, published in one of Moldova's well-recognized newspapers, came from different Dafa information sources of other world regions.

Unfortunately, our wish to meet with the Foreign Minister did not materialize. We sent truth clarification materials to him. I introduced myself as a Falun Gong practitioner when contacting the editor of the foreign ministry's press liaison's office. Immediately, the editor broke out laughing, "We were already informed by your friends from abroad. I admire your active efforts!" I had decided to personally deliver the truth clarification materials. But he said that it was no longer necessary, as he already had read our truth clarification material on the Internet. He also had translated the information into Romanian and delivered it to the Foreign Minister. I thanked him from my deepest heart for his ability to be fair.

Two fellow practitioners were responsible for distributing truth clarification materials to the media. It took them three days to visit all media centers in the capital of Moldova. They explained the truth about the persecution to editors and reporters and gave them truth clarification materials and CD's. Thus, the reporters from all media outlets knew the truth about Falun Gong, as well as the horrible deeds of Luo Gan by the time we held the press conference.

A UNO official suggested we arrange a press conference through one media outlet and notify all other media. We discussed it in a lengthy conversation with the vice-director of the particular media outlet. She appeared very cautious. She did not turn us down immediately, but tried to dissuade us of the idea of a press conference. She was of the opinion that, as no one from Moldova was affected by China's persecution, no one would be interested in attending the press conference. She suggested that we should not waste our time, our money, and our efforts.

This was a test for all of us. I realized that the old forces were exploiting our remaining attachments when one of the practitioners had almost the same opinion as that lady. At that time I had a rock-solid and righteous thought and said that we should not look at the opportunity with the mind of ordinary people, but from within the Fa. I asked, "Is a press conference good for Dafa, or is it not?" Everyone was of the same opinion. It was good for Dafa! Even if no reporters showed up, we could disseminate the news, so all the people would hear of our press conference. This would be a heavy blow to the evil in the other dimension. This is not only an affair concerning us, but it concerns all Dafa practitioners. We should be worthy of the name of Dafa practitioners and do well with this affair. We were certain that it was up to us to organize this press conference.

During that time I continuously felt Master's guidance. Although I slept and ate little, I was always energetic. All other practitioners also hoped that our mission was successful. We formed a unit. Unfortunately we also had some gaps. Sometimes we had disagreements and argued, though this was always of short duration. We all understood the importance of this undertaking. We were rock solid and unbeatable, and we stopped the evil from exploiting our gaps.

On the first day I had a conflict with another practitioner. Another practitioner noticed this and realized that it could disrupt our mission. She suggested we study the Fa together. I had brought along the "Teaching and Explaining the Fa at the Metropolitan New York Fa Conference." I don't think that this was accidental. Master said, "At present there are some frictions among students, and you all need to watch out--you can't let minor things affect the important things that Dafa disciples are supposed to do." I felt the magnificence and the power of Dafa after studying the Fa together. The conflicts among us were no more than a trifle. The things we are supposed to do are so holy and magnificent! I felt ashamed that I was unable to control myself, especially since I had done something that made the evil happy and our Master sad.

Now I will discuss the press conference again. We called the Association of Journalism and asked for their help in securing a place for the press conference. We told them the theme of the press conference. In the meanwhile one of the employees showed us a document from the Ministry of Culture, which said, "The Chinese embassy asks not to rent a place to Falun Gong." As the words "Falun Gong" were not translated correctly, the employee suggested that perhaps they didn't talk about us. We answered that they certainly talked about us. Consequently, we clarified the truth and gave them the real name. An employee from the Chinese embassy called while we were visiting at the Association of Journalism and they told the embassy that Falun Dafa practitioners wished to rent a place from them. The Chinese embassy informed them that they had not heard of us, und therefore they were not against us. After the employee put the phone down he said, "Since they have nothing against it we agree to rent the place to you."

I was of the opinion that the news that Dafa practitioners were suing Luo Gan had already been publicized all over town. We were, a few hours before the conference, successful in filing an accusation with the district attorney's office. After we finished copying the materials for reporters we returned to the Association of Journalism. At that time we were told that they were forced to rescind their decision to rent us a place. The reason was that the Chinese embassy had put pressure on the Foreign Ministry of Moldova. They also put pressure through the Ministry of Culture on the Association of Journalism. The employee of the Association of Journalism apologized. I saw that she felt bad about it.

We did not cancel our press conference. We held the conference in a nearby park. Many journalists came and received the material. Some of the media reporters interviewed us. The next day, some of the major newspapers published articles both in Russian and Romanian based on the materials we distributed. We met a number of people during those few days in Moldova who were interested in practicing Dafa. For example, the assistant to the attorney general and the highest public office had already read the book, Falun Gong, prior to meeting us. He arranged a meeting with us. The director of a Russian radio station had been given Zhuan Falun on a trip to China a few years ago. He had read it and had wanted to learn the exercises ever since.

Everyone we came in contact with wanted to help us. One of the reporters called one of the television anchorman and asked him to meet with us. After we met, this anchorman wanted to present a series called "Morals, Qigong and Falun Dafa." I have kept in contact with him since then. He read the book and felt the movements of Falun. He asked us to come back to Moldova and teach people the exercises. We will return to Moldova in the near future. It is very important for the people there. Master said in "Teaching and Explaining the Fa at the Metropolitan New York Fa Conference," "If an ethnic group or a country doesn't have Dafa disciples right now, it will bring them a ton of difficulty--and that's at a very minimum. So no matter how few Dafa disciples there are in a certain place, that is hope for that ethnic group."

We achieved a lot during our five days in Moldova. I felt as if a month had passed. We utilized every minute for clarifying the truth. Before leaving we visited the Chinese embassy. We wanted to deliver truth clarification materials. We distributed materials while shopping in the market. We wanted the Moldavians to learn the truth from our deepest hearts.

I came to understand during the truth clarification process that Master takes care of everything. We are only there to fulfill our mission during this historical moment of the Fa-rectification period of the cosmos. We have to be diligent and do everything well. We can't wait for our bad conscience to bother us, because Master and the sentient beings have such great hope in us. I wish all my fellow practitioners, including myself continue without failure on our cultivation path, look inward, and search for our attachments and eliminate them, so the evil forces that fight for life and death are unable to exploit our gaps. We have to deny everything arranged by the old forces. The Fa-rectification work is in front of us. Under no circumstance can we miss the historic chance that Master has granted us.

I thank Master for his compassion and for all he beared for us. I thank Master that he granted us the honor to be part of this magnificent historical period in the Fa-rectification period of the cosmos, which confirms Dafa, including the opportunity to save all sentient beings.

A resident of Japan who had been detained in China for her activities in the Falun Gong spiritual movement thanked those who supported her Friday.

Yoko Kaneko, 39, expressed gratitude to the Japanese government and a group of lawmakers for their efforts in pressuring Beijing to release her.

Kaneko is married to a Japanese man and lives in Niigata Prefecture. She returned to Japan on Thursday after her 18-month detention period expired Sunday.

Kaneko was arrested May 24, 2002, for [...] distributing Falun Gong leaflets with friends in Beijing. Her Japanese friends were deported, but Kaneko, who is Chinese, was detained.

"I want to give thanks for the cooperation of the Japanese government, the Japanese embassy (in Beijing) and the politicians who supported the move," Kaneko told a news conference through an interpreter.

Her husband, Atsushi, who was also present at the news conference, and his supporters had repeatedly asked the Foreign Ministry to pressure China for her early release.

Kaneko said that Falun Gong followers detained in China suffer "psychological pressure" and "inhumane treatment." She said they are tortured if they refuse to leave the organization.

A 19-year-old girl was stripped naked, tied to a board and drugged for refusing to leave Falun Gong, Kaneko said. The teen later became schizophrenic, according to Kaneko.

Japanese people "would not have understood the seriousness of (China's) persecution of Falun Gong followers had it not been for" my detention, she said.

Kaneko said her black hair turned white during her detention. She dyed it brown before returning to Japan. She also said her family and friends in China were harassed because she was a member of Falun Gong.

Seishu Makino, a Democratic Party of Japan politician who heads the support group of lawmakers, said he will continue to support Falun Gong followers.

"The nature of the incident is that the lives of Falun Gong followers in Japan are threatened" if they return to China, he said.

Human rights watchdog Amnesty International Japan has said Falun Gong followers are often subjected to torture and other harassment in China if they refuse to leave the organization.

The day after Thanksgiving is a time usually devoted to family.

Not so for Smyrna resident Sam Lu, whose wife spent the holiday imprisoned in China for distributing fliers about Falun Gong, a spiritual movement the government [persecutes brutally].

Lu and about 1,000 other Falun Gong adherents from across North America spent Friday at a rally in Centennial Olympic Park, spreading the word that many are imprisoned in China for their spiritual beliefs.

Xuefei Lu, arrested for passing out Falun Gong fliers three years ago in China, completed her sentence at a labor camp last month, her husband said, but is still a prisoner for refusing to renounce her faith.

"She was to be released Nov. 15... the police say she violated regulations because she refused to attend the brainwashing classes," Sam Lu said Friday.

Shawn Lin of Duluth says he and his wife, Hua Du, were detained and questioned for hours when they visited their native country three years ago. Lin said their interrogators separated the couple and "tried to find out information about Falun Gong activity outside of China."

Other Falun Gong practitioners fare less well than the Lins.

This March, Charles Lee, an American linked to the spiritual movement, was sentenced to three years in prison in China after he was convicted of sabotaging broadcast facilities. A former medical researcher at a Boston hospital, Lee was arrested Jan. 22 as he walked off a plane in China.

"Americans need to be aware of the persecution that is still happening in China today, in the 21st century," said Lee's fiancée, Yeong Ching Foo, a resident of the San Francisco area who was in Atlanta on Friday for the rally.

Foo said Lee was imprisoned for attempting to "expose" the persecution of his compatriots.

(Clearwisdom.net) On the morning of November 29, 2003, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Ying, who had been illegally imprisoned in a Chinese forced labor camp for two years, finally arrived at the Sydney International Airport with her Australian fianc , Mr. Li Qizhong. Ms. Li revealed to the media the inhuman torture she had endured in the labor camp. At the same time, Ms. Li expressed her appreciation to Australian government and fellow Falun Gong practitioners who had been working hard to rescue her.

Australian Falun Gong practitioners have organized a series of activities to rescue practitioners' family members who are illegally imprisoned in China. Ms. Li is one of the practitioners they tried to rescue. Ms. Li said that she was set free from the labor camp on October 15. She is very grateful to the Australian government and the Australian Consuls in Shanghai, who made it possible for her to come to Australia so soon. She also thanked her fianc for taking the risk to go to Shanghai and help her to get all necessary paperwork done to come to Australia.

Li Ying revealed to the media what she had experienced in the labor camp. In January 2001, she was abducted and sent for brainwashing. Staff in the brainwashing center asked her two questions: Is Falun Gong good or not? Will you still practice it? She answered that Falun Gong is good and that she will continue to practice. As a result, she was incarcerated for four months.

To protest this human rights violation, she went on hunger strike for a month. She was force-fed as a result, and her health was in a desperate situation. Some staff told her, "Putting you in jail or under house arrest is exactly what we want to do. We are government institutions, so what do you think you can do about it?" She asked, "Can a government violate the law without being punished?" They had no answer. Later, Ms. Li's workplace bailed her out. On October 16, 2001, when she went to Hangzhou on a business trip, she was once again unlawfully arrested. She was sent to the Shanghai Qingsong Female Forced Labor Camp where she was to be confined for 2 years. The reason recorded was "other," because her confinement was not based on any actual law.

Ms. Li Ying said, "In the labor camp, I resisted their persecution. They hung me with my hands cuffed behind my back for three days. Sometimes, they cuffed my hands behind my back to an iron door. It was very cold. They did not allow me to put on more clothes. They locked me in a solitary confinement cell for more than six months. They were afraid that my determination would interfere with their so-called "re-education" of other practitioners.

In the labor camp, we usually got up at 5 am and started working at 7 am until 11 pm or midnight. We often got blisters on our palms. Some practitioners were punished to sit on a very tiny stool, as a result, their buttocks started festering. Some were punished to stand for a long time. After a few months, their feet were so swollen that they were unable to walk. Some were beaten with electric batons so badly that it was hard to find any good piece of skin on their bodies. Different places adopted different ways to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. In some areas, there were more physical tortures. In other places, there were more mental tortures. To put it simply, they used various ways to persecute practitioners."

When reporters asked Li Ying about the pressure and harm her family members had experienced, Ms. Li said, "My parents suffered a lot. My older sister, my younger brother and I were imprisoned in different labor camps. My mother had to go to different places to visit us. Especially, when she visited me, the authorities raised three conditions to my mother. First, she must not mention anything about my fianc . Second, she must not mention anything related to Falun Gong. Third, she was not allowed to bring any food or daily necessities to me. She could only bring me some money. If she violated any of these, she would not be allowed to visit me again. I had only one chance per six months to meet with my family members, and my mother had to come from Tianjin to Shanghai to visit me. Her letters to me were also intercepted and I was not allowed to see them."

When reporters asked her how many Falun Gong practitioners were held in her labor camp, Li said, "All together, about a thousand Falun Gong practitioners had been imprisoned in that labor camp. Currently, 89 practitioners of different ages and from different backgrounds are held there."

After Li Ying was illegally detained, rescue activities on her behalf were carried out in several countries. Australian Foreign Minister and several Members of Parliament expressed their concern for Ying's imprisonment. They also took some effective measures. This time, with the help from Australian Consuls in Shanghai, it took Li Ying only one week to get her visa to Australia. Normally, it would have taken 35 weeks to get the visa.

Li Ying's younger brother, Mr. Li Liang was released from Qingbowa Labor Camp in Tianjin City on November 19, 2003. He was arrested again on November 25. Ying's elder sister, Ms. Li Hong is still imprisoned in Banqiao Female Labor Camp in the City of Tianjin. Ms. Li Ying hoped that kind-hearted people will continue to work together to end the unprecedented persecution in China. She will also try her best to help Falun Gong practitioners who are still incarcerated, like her sister and brother, to obtain their freedom.

(Clearwisdom.net) On November 21, 2003, members of American University's Falun Dafa Club and the local community held a candlelight vigil on the university's square to call attention to the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China and for more support from the public and American society to bring about an end to the persecution.

According a report in The Eagle, the university newspaper, on November 24, candlelight lit up the university's square the Friday before. Thirty Falun Gong practitioners were holding a candlelight vigil in their efforts to rescue their fellow practitioners in China. Members of AU's Falun Dafa Club and the local community participated in this activity to call for the university's attention to their fellow practitioners like Dr. Charles Li, who has been detained for ten months in China.

As AU's professor of statistics and member of the club, Larry Liu said, "We are in urgent need of attention to the persecution in China and more support from the public and American society."

The report said that Liu started practicing Falun Gong on the advice of his mother. She wrote him a letter to tell him how she had benefited from Falun Gong both physically and mentally. Liu's mother is a sixty-three-year-old retired engineer who has been detained several times since 1996.

Wang Jinwei, a twenty-two-year-old sophomore and founder of the club, told the reporter that more than thirty people have joined the club. The club has held a series of activities, including discussion sessions, a photo exhibit and an exhibition of paintings by a Falun Gong practitioner who was detained in China for two years.

The report said that Wang started practicing Falun Gong when she was still in high school. To help her mother find a health-improving exercise, Wang asked her classmates and teachers about several Qigong exercises. In return, one of her teachers taught her, her mother and her classmates Falun Gong.

The Eagle reporter quoted Brad of the Falun Dafa Information Center. He said the Chinese government brainwashed the people with propaganda. Out of his jealousy, Jiang Zemin, former Secretary General of the Chinese Communist Party, ignored the positive view of Falun Gong by other members of the Political Bureau. There is an idiom in China, "a sheer fabrication out of nothing." This is exactly what Jiang did. All the propaganda against Falun Gong is false, because Falun Gong is a peaceful group instead of a political organization.

The report also said Charles Li's fiance, Ms. Yeong-Ching Foo, had never been allowed to talk to Li on the phone. She learned about his situation through the U.S. Embassy in China. She was at a conference on psychology this weekend to learn more about brainwashing.

Foo said, "After torture, the government forced brainwashing on him. I am very proud of him for helping others at his own risk. Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming. It is the time for family reunions. I hope he will be able to come back soon."

Ms. Zhu Yujun, a Dafa practitioner from Shulan City, was arrested illegally and has been on a hunger strike for over one month now. After suffering numerous fainting spells, she was sent to a forced labor camp but the camp refused to accept her. She is on the verge of death. Her elderly mother went to the Public Security Bureau many times asking for her release, but the Political and Judiciary Committee refused to release her. Around November 8, the mayor of Shullan, Zhang Zhimin, refused to sign a release form. Because they wanted to extort more money from her, they continued to detain her.

The police in Qianan City, Hebei Province frequently used a variety of means to torture Dafa practitioners, such as using leather belts and the bottoms of shoes to slap them, using sarcasm and slanderous remarks to insult them, putting them in shackles which are intended for death row inmates, hand cuffing them if they practice the Falun Dafa exercises, hanging them on an iron gate for extended periods, and not allowing them to use the restroom. These were things frequently done to the practitioners. Dafa practitioners went on hunger strikes to protest the abuse and were force-fed. Police used tools to open their mouths and to pry apart their teeth. Some practitioners' mouths were torn and bruised so badly that they bled profusely. The feeding tube often pierced their esophagus causing problems with breathing. Their bodies were severely injured from the forced feeding causing thick black blood clots and sustained coughing and chest pain. Their bodies sustained a tremendous amount of torture.

The police in the Shuanghe Forced Labor Camp in Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province viciously persecute Dafa practitioners. If Dafa practitioners do not cooperate with them, they are tied up on a "tiger bench"* day and night for several dozen days. The number of days keeps getting longer, and they keep prolonging the duration of the torture. The Dafa practitioners' lives are in grave danger. We are asking people with righteousness to extend your helping hands to rescue them.

On February 4, 2000, Dafa practitioner Li Ziumin from Shijiazhuang was arrested and detained in Youyidajie Police Station because she participated in a group practice. Her family's property was illegally confiscated. On March 13 of that year, the eighth day of her hunger strike, the Qiaozi Public Security Bureau sentenced her to 3 years of hard labor and on March 15 her work unit dismissed her. During her three years of hard labor in Shijiazhuang Labor Camp, she was inhumanely tortured so badly that both her mind and body suffered severe injury. Unable to stand the vicious accusations and pressure, her husband was forced to divorce her and take their son away. On April 5, 2003, she was released and went to live with her parents since she couldn't support herself. On November 14, 2003, Yuhua Police Station in Shijiazhuang again arrested her for no reason. Her whereabouts are unknown.

An understanding of "solemn declaration"** of one Dafa practitioner: Whenever I read the Minghui website, I did not want to read about the facts of persecution and "solemn declarations" since I had a similar experience. I was afraid of being persecuted again and could not face my own fear. However, after I finished reading a fellow practitioner's declaration yesterday, I found my shortcoming and disparity. I enlightened to the deeper meaning behind falling down and standing up again. To write a declaration is to honor Dafa and to be responsible to the Fa; it is not just washing away my own wrongdoings. Also, the purpose of writing a "solemn declaration" is to expose the evil propaganda of so called "being transformed." It is also to let the evil know that coercion can't change a person's heart. In some degree it suppresses and eliminates the evil elements. The negative influence due to my huge mistake is being rectified and also my mind returned to its rightful place after having been forcibly brainwashed.

* Tiger Bench - the victim is tied to a bench, thighs held down, legs straight, and feet pushed up by a stack of bricks, causing hyper-extension and sometimes breaking the knees backwards.

** A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."

Falun Dafa practitioners in China and any people with the facts, please collect evidence and names of the crew of Shanghai Movie Productions who created a film defaming Falun Dafa entitled, Home Front in the Mountain in Fusong County, Jilin Province.

Since 2002, there have been six Falun Dafa practitioners tortured to death in the Xinhua Labor Camp in Mianyang County, Sichuan Province. Their names are, Yuan Shengqian, Tang Jianping, Ding Feng, Zhang Xiaohong, Li Xinze, and Xi Zhimin. There is a "Special Team" for Falun Dafa practitioners in which police force prisoners to torture Dafa practitioners, or inhumanly torturing Falun Dafa practitioners themselves. Phone numbers of the Xinhua Labor Camp is 86-816-2274441; Sixth Team is 86-816-2830597; Sixth Team Leader Zhu Huaizhong is 86-1303-5651945; Police officer Wu Zhengjun, 86-1303-5665588; Police officer Huang Ming, 86-1380-8118055.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Xiumei, age 58, is a resident of Dalian City, Liaoning Province. She went on hunger strike to protest the persecution when detained in the Yaojia Detention Center, and died on the morning of December 16, 2001. According to prisoners in the same cell with her, after she came back from force-feeding, she could not breathe, and her face was a purple-blue color. She said, "They force-fed me so much I could have died!" She was not returned after force-feeding the next day. The people who are directly responsible for her death are Jia Ling (female Team Leader) and Liu Run (jail doctor).

Cases of Hulan County police in Heilongjiang Province torturing Falun Dafa practitioners for long periods of time:

(1) Falun Dafa practitioner Song Kun, female, around age 55, was illegally sentenced to nine years in prison. She was physically too weak for to be put into a labor camp. She has been illegally detained in the No.1 Detention Center since July 20, 2002, and she is still very weak right now.

(2) Falun Dafa practitioner Zhou Yanwei, female, age 43, was beaten by prisoner Ma Jing, afterwards her eyes were swollen. She has been locked in the No.1 Detention Center since March, 2003.

(3) Falun Dafa practitioner Zhang Qingsheng, male, age 48, was tortured and interrogated by police officers Wang Cai and Li Ming from the Yaobao Substation after being arrested while clarifying the truth on November 19, 2003. He was abducted and brought to the State Security Team in the County Police Station, and is now being detained in the No.2 Detention Center in Hulan County.

Researchers have found that modern China is facing a total collapse of ethical standards and ecological resources. If either of these two basic social structures fails, it would result in China never being able to pull itself out of disaster, and this ancient civilization, which has survived numerous tribulations in its 5,000 year history, would become another relic of history. Chinese Communism is doomed. If the government tells the people the problems the country is truly facing, it will cause great terror and panic. At the same time, the Chinese Communists' bloody debts and its failing policies would be put on trial. If it chooses not to tell the people the truth, the problems will accumulate more severely, and become even more critical. Economic collapse and ecological disasters are inevitable. At that time, the occurrence of such disasters will cause disaster for the whole world. The difficult circumstances currently existing in China are similar the circumstances before and after the SARS disaster, but the severity is much greater, like a mountain compared to a molehill.

More and more people have learned the truth in China. In Siouan County, Shandong Province, in villages and towns, there are often truth-clarifying flyers posted on telephone poles or in visible places. People can receive all kinds of informational material over the internet. Many professionals are talking about where they saw Falun Dafa materials. Professionals who went overseas for business trips tell people inside the country what they saw outside China. One new Falun Dafa practitioner clarified the truth to people, and she found out people have already learned the truth. Once the people of the world all know the truth, the evil will have no place to hide.

Cultivation and Exercises cannot be separated. Cultivation is of first priority, and Exercises are supplementary. If you only cultivate without doing the exercises, your energy potency will not increase. Actually, this can be considered as only doing research. If you only do the exercises without cultivating, you cannot be considered a practitioner, as it is impossible to increase your Xinxing and level. During the final stage of the Fa-rectification, every genuine practitioner is strictly following Teacher's instructions and doing the three things: studying the Fa, clarifying the truth, and sending righteous thoughts. Therefore, every practitioner is very busy. Sometimes it is very easy for practitioners to forget about doing the exercises. I am one of them. Sometimes it becomes a very serious problem for me. Through constant study of the Fa and with Teacher's help, I have gradually come to understand that it is very important to do exercises during this last stage of Fa-rectification.

I found that a fellow practitioner, who is diligent in studying the Fa, cultivating his Xinxing and practicing the exercises as well, has very strong righteous thoughts. He doesn't have to intentionally send forth righteous thoughts; he is treating everything with righteous thoughts. When we send forth righteous thoughts together to eliminate the evil influences, there is a fairly small separation among micro particles and there is transparent belt-like energy substance during the separation. This occurs because quite a lot of his physical body has been transformed into the high-energy substance. When eliminating the evil influences, he has very strong and consistent energy potency. Consequently, his righteous thoughts are very effective and he is not easily fatigued.

When a Falun Dafa practitioner is doing the exercises, the part of his body that corresponds to the universe is also doing them. The bad substance will be eliminated very quickly. In other words, when we do the exercises well (assuming one studies the Fa well and improves one's Xinxing fast), we are really walking out of the shell made up of attachments and the degenerated substance. Our physical body is turning more and more transparent, with many colors interchanging and upgrading. It looks extremely beautiful.

What about a practitioner who doesn't do well in exercises? The most obvious state would be: his physical body is easily fatigued, and lots of irrelevant thoughts crop up when sending forth righteous thoughts and studying the Fa. It is because the physical body has not been transformed well and therefore it is easy for evil beings to take advantage of his weaknesses. The effect of eliminating these evil influences is not satisfactory.

I often think about what is behind thoughts like" I don't feel like doing the exercises" and "I have no time to do the exercises." Is it the demonic interference making me lazy or an attachment to comfort? Perhaps it is both. But I think the most important reason is that we do not understand this part of Teacher's Fa (in terms of doing the exercises) well enough.

The aim of an ordinary practitioner is to achieve consummation. A Fa-rectification disciple has to rectify all that is not right; to save all people that can be saved in the human world; and to eliminate all the evil influences. That is to say, to finish his or her part of the most perfect vast universe. Therefore, we should not only get rid of degenerated things and attachments and build up boundless mighty virtue, we should also cultivate our abilities and supernormal abilities. Aren't these things evolved from practicing the exercises?

In fact, when we regard our forgetting about practicing the exercises as an attachment to be rid of, and we treat the cells and the micro particles in our physical body as our own sentient beings to be saved, we will definitely not forget about practicing the exercises.

Fa-rectification has come to the final stage, and we should indeed treat ourselves as gods who enlighten to the universal principles completely. If we cannot cultivate ourselves well, how can the sentient beings be really saved!

Due to my personal cultivation level and understanding, this is written only for reference.

(Clearwisdom.net) Ever since our Teacher told us that we should emphasize the process, many practitioners have started to pay no attention to the result, and they think that it is fine if they just did the work.

I believe that the process and the result are interrelated. A process that does not lead to a result does not exist. Neither does a result exist that did not require a process. A process will certainly bring about a result.

My understanding is as follows: The ultimate goal of Dafa practitioners is to save people. The effectiveness of the salvation is not only determined by the result of a process, it is reflected in whether we, in the process of doing Dafa work, can comprehensively clarify the truth and eliminate the evil in other dimensions so as to achieve the goal of saving people. If we do not care about our effectiveness in saving people, I believe that we have incorrectly understood the Fa.

Another aspect is the cultivation of our hearts. Teacher's recent lectures are to help us with all aspects of our cultivation. They are not a set of instructions of how to do certain work. Therefore, it is very important that we understand well the Fa with the right heart, with the hearts of Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples.

This is my personal understanding. Please point out anything that is incorrect.

(Clearwisdom.net) With the rapid development of Fa-rectification, the evils in other dimensions have been eliminated in massive quantities. With the help of fellow practitioners, some former practitioners who were forced to give up their cultivation have awakened. Some others are still somewhat confused, but they have also begun to read Master's lectures and have gradually come to see the truth.

One person helped the police to torture Dafa practitioners after he/she went astray. Now that person has completely woken up and has published a solemn declaration (a public statement of apology for the wrongdoings using real names) along with several others. Beforehand, they felt guilty and blamed themselves for their misdeeds, becoming quite depressed. After talking with other practitioners, they have come to understand practitioners' historic obligation. Now they are actively involved in truth-clarification work. They have now even established a small material printing center. They are also helping others come back to Falun Dafa and cultivate as a group.

Another person helped the police in brainwashing classes. He has now awakened and come back to Dafa. In order to undo the damages he personally caused, he is now, one at a time, clarifying the truth to people who were negatively influenced by him in the brainwashing classes, including the ones now living in other cities.

Recently, the police in one district planned to force Dafa practitioners to attend brainwashing, but their plan met with strong resistance from local practitioners. In addition, several "reformed" persons had realized the truth and thus refused to cooperate with the police. As a result, the brainwashing class did not take place.

Now, more and more people are awakening to the truth. However, we can still see problems on their way home. They need to enhance their Fa-study and get more support from fellow practitioners.

(For example, see http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2003/11/12/42181.html) Here I would like to discuss a bit more about this subject from another viewpoint.

The police, who are trained as tools by Jiang's criminal gang, actually enjoy persecuting Dafa practitioners. Therefore, when confronting them, we should never place any hope on them. A lot of fellow practitioners have done exceptionally well in resisting the evil and have proven themselves to be Dafa disciples of the Fa-rectification period. At the same time, we have also seen many practitioners resort to hunger strikes as a means of resisting the evil when they were under brutal persecution. I have the following thoughts concerning the issue, to share with fellow practitioners:

What is the purpose of our hunger strike? Of course, it is not for starving ourselves to death at all. It is just a form of protest against brutal persecution, using our bodies, under certain extreme circumstances. We thus apply humanitarian pressure to those who persecute us, so that they might stop their persecution. However, it always fails to achieve the goal, because they (Jiang's criminal gang and its accomplices) have completely lost any human nature and the sense of doing things according to the law. They wouldn't become afraid or stop the persecution just because we hold a hunger strike. Instead, they often intensify the persecution by torturing practitioners with more brutal means such as force-feeding, etc. If the hunger strikers are in a really bad state of health, they will be sent to the hospital for further persecution. When practitioners' lives are in grave danger the authorities simply let their relatives carry them home, thus not taking any responsibility.

What state of mind is it, if we don't really want to die and are not willing to die, while we are holding a hunger strike? It is indeed a mixture of fear and pursuit that is tormenting us. When we hope that the evil will stop the persecution and let us go, we have, as a matter of fact, recognized their acts.

If we really lose our physical bodies because of going on a hunger strike, those who participated in the persecution and their corresponding sentient beings at different levels will have to perish completely. As a consequence, our hunger strike will be no good at all.

"Now that you've arrested me, I haven't thought at all about going back. Now that I've come here, I've come to validate the Fa." (Master Li in Teaching and Explaining the Fa at the Metropolitan New York Fa Conference). However, some fellow practitioners haven't thought like this. When they were sent to jail, they thought: "This is not the place I should stay, so I must get out." When they had too many of these kinds of thoughts, attachments developed. Sometimes they thought that Teacher would help them to do this thing or that. Their real situation is, however, very complicated, and maybe was not like what they imagined at that time. Then, how could they ask Teacher to help, according to their imagined difficulty?

Only with righteous thoughts and righteous actions, will we be able to deter the evil. If we have really gotten rid of all attachments and any fear, how could we be frightened by the evil since we have even been able to disregard the threat of death? No matter how harsh the persecution is, if we are thoroughly clear and calm to the fact that everything was produced by the old, evil rotten spirits and we should never recognize them at all, and if we truly understand that we have nothing to be afraid of because we are Master Li Hongzhi's disciples, and if our righteous thoughts are sufficiently powerful and pure, Teacher will definitely come to help us, and will hint to us as to what we should do in any particular situation. At that critical moment, any hesitation or impure thought would destroy us. The worse thing is that we are holding onto Buddhahood on one hand while we are still attached to human nature on the other. Then Teacher will not be able to help us, nor will the righteous enlightened beings who are willing to help be able to do so.

One of my fellow practitioners went through all manner of tribulations during her detention for 15 days in April 2001. She did well and left no loopholes for the evil. After she came out, I asked her what her biggest attachment was during that period. "The attachment of fear," she answered. I understand her deeply because I had a similar experience also. Of course, different people have different situations, and the present situation is different from what it was earlier. It is extremely hard to go through a long period of torment. It is impossible for everyone to make it. Teacher tells us,

"If a cultivator can let go of the thought of life and death under any circumstance, evil is sure to be afraid of him. If every student is able to do this, evil will of itself no longer exist" (Essentials for Further Advancement II).

"So for Dafa disciples, no matter how harsh this period of history that we're going through is, there's nothing to grieve over. What we're thinking about is saving sentient beings, and you should fulfill [the aspirations of] a being who came for the Fa and the significance of your coming here. So we have nothing to regret, and what awaits Dafa disciples are all wonderful things" (Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Washington DC Fa Conference).

(Clearwisdom.net) At age 60, I retired from my career as a college professor in 1991 due to my failing health. In April 1996, I began to practice Falun Dafa when, through reading Zhuan Falun, I went through a spiritual awakening and began to fully understand the true meaning of life. Since then, I abandoned all my worries. More amazingly, after a mere two months of practice, my gallstones that had plagued me for 20 years disappeared.

One day in April 1996, I saw a book on a subway bookstand. It was Zhuan Falun. For some reason, before even glancing through the table of contents, as I normally do, I bought the book immediately. I couldn't wait to read this book. In the next few days, I read it day and night and completed the whole book in a couple of days. I was overjoyed that I found Falun Dafa. I was even more excited to have found my Master. I hoped to get a chance to see Master Li in person.

One morning, when I was reading Zhuan Falun, I entered into an alternate state of awareness. I saw a transparent cabinet. There were many Falun and of various sizes in the cabinet. They were all spinning. I was so happy that I yelled, " Falun!" Afterward I told my husband what I saw.

My husband located a practice site. When we arrived at the practice site, some assistants were teaching the exercises. They taught us all the moves with great patience and compassion. In addition, they gave us copies of materials for free. We felt so grateful. Three of us from my family, all over 60-years old, began attending regular practice and study sessions there. Every day, we would walk more than one hour to the site and practice from 1 to 1 ?hours. We did not feel tired at all but felt that we were doing the most meaningful and enjoyable thing.

Everyday I read Zhuan Falun and went to the park to practice. After a few days, one night, I felt an intense heat in my body. The next day I had a sharp pain in my abdomen. It seemed as if water were boiling in my abdomen, especially in the gall bladder area. The contractions were severe and the pain was unbearable. I had suffered gallstones for more than 20 years and over the years I received four ultrasonic treatments. But a few pieces of stones that were 1.6 cm, 1.3 cm, 0.8 cm, and 0.7 cm in diameter still existed. On the 3^rd day, I felt a bitter taste in my mouth and my abdomen felt full although I hardly ate anything for three days. On the 4^th day, I began to excrete the softened gallstones. The stones had completely melted and passing them was not painful at all. Three days later, the discharge was over. When I touched my abdomen where I could usually feel the gallstones, I felt nothing. They were totally gone. I felt so comfortable.

Years ago, a bone in my hand was broken in a car accident. The injury reduced the function of my hands and legs. Now everything has changed. I feel so much better and I can continuously do the exercises for one and a half hours and walk for 3 to 4 hours without feeling tired.

These are the miracles that happened within the first 2 months of practicing Falun Dafa. It is Zhuan Falun that has guided me on the path of Dafa cultivation.

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a prison inmate in China. I work as a cook along with two fellow inmates. Our supervisor is responsible for the kitchen work.

Not long after I started working in the kitchen, I found that the food menu changed every day and that there was always a high quality meal every week. I couldn't figure out why the food service was so good. One day I asked about this matter to a fellow inmate who started working there before me. He said, "Our supervisor is a Falun Gong practitioner. He is an honest man and never tries to benefit himself on the job. He always pays for his own meal, even as little as a bowl of instant noodles." That's why! Had I not seen it myself, I could have never believed this. More surprisingly, the inmates he supervised were also the same way; they did not take advantage of their job! Most of the inmates (including myself) were the scum of the society with low moral standards. We committed crimes because we went too far in seeking personal gains. Even people like us have changed because of him. He never criticized us. His conduct set a good example. We all know he practices Falun Gong, therefore its evident that Falun Gong is quite powerful. One inmate said, "I don't know much about Falun Gong, but my supervisor is the best person I've ever known, and he believes in Falun Gong so it must be good." It doesn't matter how much CCTV tries to badmouth Falun Gong, next to our supervisor, their propaganda is good for nothing.

1. Villager Wang Xiangfu of Yongqing Village, Baishishan Township, Jiaohe City of Jilin Province verbally defamed Falun Dafa and its founder. He burned Falun Dafa books, mistreated his wife, practitioner Zhang Mengzhen and forbade her to practice the exercises. On October 21, 2003 a car ran into Wang Xiangfu. His leg was broken and covered with cuts and bruises.

2. Zhang Menglin of Dongshan Coal Mine in Jiaohe City, Jilin Province could not see through the evil nature of Jiang's regime even though his grandson and granddaughter had been persecuted for practicing Falun Dafa. He verbally abused and defamed Falun Dafa and the Teacher without reason. In March 2001, he was killed in his own home when burglars broke into and robbed his house.

3. The middle-aged housewife of a garrison trooper in Jiaohe City, Jilin Province shouted abuse against Falun Dafa as a practitioner tried to clarify the truth to her. She not only verbally abused Dafa but also instigated her children to abuse Dafa. Not long after, the woman suffered from a cervical tumor.

4. Fine arts teacher Zhang Tongxing of No. 68 High School at Guanli Village, Sujiatun District of Shenyang City was once involved in organizing students to sign their names in a campaign to collect signatures to slander Falun Gong. He also drew cartoons attacking the Teacher of Falun Dafa. On August 11, 2003, when Zhang Tongxing was fishing, it suddenly began to rain. He went under a tree to take shelter from and was struck by a bolt of lightning and died instantly.
