Dear [Name Withheld],

I must regrettably inform you that I cannot be in Toronto on May 13th, 2002.

Again, I send you best wishes for a successful commemoration and, in particular, note that you have chosen the universal principles "The World needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance".

We, in Canada, live in a relatively peaceful and harmonious society attempting to live up to the theme of your celebration. However, we must continually remind ourselves that a diverse and pluralistic society, such as in Canada, must be nurtured through education, tolerance, compromise, and empathy for the needs of others. In addition, Canada must ensure that the universal declaration of human rights is adhered to throughout the world.

To assure peace and security for all citizens, we must continue to strive for this goal.

I wish you success in your celebration and will continue to work with you to ensure that Falun Gong practitioners throughout the world and particularly in China are able to practice their beliefs in a peaceful and respected way.

Yours truly,

á

A. Raynell Andreychuk
