Falun Gong Featured at "Violence Against Women in China" United Nations Panel Discussion (Photo)

On March 25, Transnational Radical Party, an NGO, sponsored a 2-hour panel discussion regarding "Violence against Women in China" at the 58th Session of the Commission on Human Rights in Geneva, Switzerland. Marina Sikora of the Transnational Radical Party chaired the event, which featured four female Falun Gong practitioners who have all experienced the persecution first-hand. About 50 NGO's and government delegates attended the forum.

Let Us Oppose the New Wave of Suppression Against Dafa Disciples Orchestrated by Luo Gan

(Clearwisdom.net) A high-ranking official within the Public Security Bureau recently made a public statement, saying that various levels of government cannot arbitrarily give quotas or force assignments upon police stations under any pretext, or the offender would be subject to punishment. However, at a meeting in the beginning of this year, Luo Gan gave an order for police departments across the country to "strike hard for six months" and assigned firm arrest quotas for each location. According to reports, the arrest quota for the city of Shijiazhuang alone was 8,000. (Ed. Note: Shijiazhuang is noted for its large number of Falun Gong practitioners.) The arrest quota for a young "110" riot policeman was as high as 15. When catching criminals, is it necessary to have the authorities assign a quota? It is clear that these lawless individuals have ulterior motives.

China's abuse of persons who exercise their freedoms of religion and speech is a moral outrage that ought to be condemned worldwide. Sadly, those who practice Falun Gong appear to have drawn the PRC's strongest ire. And the reason they have incurred the wrath of the Beijing dictatorship is because they fear what they cannot control. And what the PRC cannot control, they attempt to destroy. But freedom cannot be destroyed -- it can only be temporarily denied.
